Lian Li all brushed aluminum cases

For those sad over the loss of aluminum cases and CaseLabs (as am I)... I'm about to start a new build with a Sliber Cerberus: https://www.sliger.com/products/cases/cerberus/ They are mostly aluminum and made in the USA. Yes, about 3x the price, but not much different than CaseLabs used to be.

FS SEA: CaseLabs Merlin SM8, Corsair Dominator 32GB DDR4, MSI B350 Tomahawk, lots of EK parts

Ha - if only it didn't take up a massive amount of space, I'd probably be willing to put it in the garage. I get that they're practically collector's items now. But I'm fine with parting with it - there's plenty of well-thought-out cases on the market these days. And at least one still made in...

Bumping as I've removed the items that have sold. CaseLabs case still available.

FS SEA: CaseLabs Merlin SM8, Corsair Dominator 32GB DDR4, MSI B350 Tomahawk, lots of EK parts

Thanks tango. I did notice they don't seem to have a website anymore, but spare parts can still be had on Amazon I believe. It's a shame.

FS SEA: CaseLabs Merlin SM8, Corsair Dominator 32GB DDR4, MSI B350 Tomahawk, lots of EK parts

cdoublejj, it's 22.44″H x 11.18″W x 22.38″D without the casters, so that probably bumps it up another 2 inches or so. It's a big boy! I believe all the WC parts are aluminum where they interface with water, but I could be wrong. I haven't experienced any galvanic corrosion issues with the build.

FS SEA: CaseLabs Merlin SM8, Corsair Dominator 32GB DDR4, MSI B350 Tomahawk, lots of EK parts

EK-XRES 140 Revo D5 PWM pump/reservoir combo unit ($125 shipped CONUS) Worked flawlessly in my custom loop for about two years. Includes the original box, install instructions, and assembly tools. Also includes radiator mount (EK-UNI Pump Bracket), if you want to attach this to a standard...

GTX1080 with Accelero Xtreme III and case fans - fan curve issues

SOLVED: My 1-to-3 fan splitter only includes RPM on one output, and it was the one I wasn't using.

GTX1080 with Accelero Xtreme III and case fans - fan curve issues

Here's my main Afterburner screen. I've enabled the custom fan curve but it appears no matter what I do it shows "27%" as the fan speed value.

GTX1080 with Accelero Xtreme III and case fans - fan curve issues

Downsizing from a full-size ATX tower to a mITX Ncase M1 and trying to reuse as many of my components as possible. Also removing my custom water loop and going back to air - with a Noctua U9S CPU cooler and, since I didn't have an original fan shroud for my GTX 1080, an Arctic Accelero Xtreme...

    Raspberry Pi4 as HTPC?

I have a full blown WIndows HTPC that really only gets used to watch streaming video through a web browser. Not YouTube, as the YouTube app built into modern TVs or my Fire Stick 4K is just a way better TV experience. Given that I only use my HTPC for that very limited function, I was wondering...

Building a revenue generating workshop heater?

That's what I was thinking... Basically the farm would be in a closed-off carport in the shop, separated by an insulated wall. When it's cold in the shop I can turn on the ducting to blow in some of the warm air from the farm. In the summer, I can close that duct or redirect it to the outside...

Building a revenue generating workshop heater?

I'm new to mining like all the other vermin that have been coming out of the woodwork lately, but after seeing how my year-old video card is now selling for three times its old price, I figured maybe there's some opportunity here. I've started to mine on my rendering desktop while not in use...

    Watercooled Ryzen in NCASE M1?

With access to a 3D printer and the ability to custom model brackets, any possible way to get that EKWB EK-XRES 140 Revo D5 PWM pump/reservoir combo stuffed in there, while still retaining the side-mounted radiator? Alternatively, could I just use the D5 pump and purchase the FrozenQ...

    Watercooled Ryzen in NCASE M1?

I was hoping it would look OK but in that picture, from that perspective, it really does look like hell. Do you have any zoomed-out pictures there? With the baby-blue configuration pictured, where is this pump located? I'm liking more and more the idea of mounting the 240 radiator on the...

    Watercooled Ryzen in NCASE M1?

I like the FrozenQ reservoir as well, but I already purchased an EKWB D5 combo pump/res. I believe I can option a short 64mm tube and that would make a tidy, compact little package. Still need to figure out where to mount it though.

    Watercooled Ryzen in NCASE M1?

    Watercooled Ryzen in NCASE M1?

I'm using a bunch of new Corsair ML120 mag-lev fans. I like them, but I'm guessing they might be too thick. Probably won't really know until everything is squished in there. One other concern I have is res/pump mounting. I'm using a EKWB EK-XRES 140 Revo D5 PWM pump/reservoir combo. It's...

    Watercooled Ryzen in NCASE M1?

I upgraded from my NCASE SFF build to a ridiculously large CaseLabs Merlin SM8 - you could stuff ten NCASE M1s in this behemoth! I think I may have overcompensated a bit... This was my first custom loop watercooling build. Anyway, I'm having regrets about moving to such a huge system...

Overclocking 4 DIMMs with Ryzen 1700x?

I just built my first custom-loop water-cooled PC with the following components: MSI Tomahawk B350 motherboard AMD Ryzen 1700x CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 32gb (4x8gb) DDR4 3000 - CMD16GX4M2B3000C15 Nvidia GTX 1080 ... I'm able to overclock the CPU to 3.9ghz at 1.320v without any issue...

Looking at a workstation GPU like a Quadro - advice?

Adding a 240mm radiator to the top of a Lian Li PC-V1000 Plus

Red, thanks for the suggestion and good to know it's not BTX. I do actually think the look of the Koolan Exos EX2-755 would jive well with the PC-V1000 style, but I almost feel it's too easy. (Side note: my last build was an NCase M1 - after trying to fit everything into a half-shoebox, I feel...

Adding a 240mm radiator to the top of a Lian Li PC-V1000 Plus

Thanks pendragon1. Are there any parts you would seriously shy away from buying used, given their propensity to leak or fail? I want to get my GTX 970 waterblock used--I don't even think EKWB makes it anymore--but I do wonder if buying used could be rolling the dice a bit on this kind of part.

Adding a 240mm radiator to the top of a Lian Li PC-V1000 Plus

Thanks all. This is my first custom water loop. I used the EKWB configurator but it came to over $600. Hoping I can do it for about half of that... Any ideas how I can save a few bucks? I want to keep the GPU in the loop.

Adding a 240mm radiator to the top of a Lian Li PC-V1000 Plus

Adding a 240mm radiator to the top of a Lian Li PC-V1000 Plus

I scored a gently used Lian Li PC-V1000 Plus mid-tower case recently, before realizing it's a BTX design (motherboard mirrored in case, flipped upside down). My intent was to do my first custom water-cooled loop. I'm planning a Ryzen 1700X build using a B250 micro-ATX motherboard, so I think...

Looking at a workstation GPU like a Quadro - advice?

I'm running a GTX 970, but I haven't been gaming much at all, and have recently gotten into parametric 3D modeling with SolidWorks and similar tools. Even though the 970 is certainly workable in SolidWorks, I know it's not on their "approved video card list" and my system does quickly bog down...

Upgrading from 256 to 500gb SSD - best way to image?

Thanks all - I ended up using the Samsung Data Migration tool... I don't think Magician offers this built-in, right? Anyway, worked surprisingly well. Crashed the first time I attempted to clone, but I think that's because the source drive was BitLocker encrypted. Once I decrypted the drive...

Upgrading from 256 to 500gb SSD - best way to image?

I'm upgrading from a Samsung 840 Pro 256gb SSD to a Samsung 850 EVO 500gb SSD and would like to make a perfect disc image of my C:\ drive. Wondering what the preferred software tool would be to do this, with minimal hassle. Can be freeware or commercially available. Or built into the OS - I'm...

    Dual-booting a work laptop

Curious if it's possible to dual-boot a work laptop, with it's own OS and isolated file system. The laptop in question is encrypted by the employer, so my guess is that would prevent it from occurring on the same drive, but is it possible to boot off high-speed, large-volume USB drive, if one...

Dual video card for gaming and 3D CAD?

Yeah, I don't even want to start thinking about the driver issues. Just looking for a way to maybe avoid building another rig just for this purpose... Especially since the video card is really the only thing that makes it not ideal for CAD work. Just FYI, not using an SLI setup right now... Just...

Dual video card for gaming and 3D CAD?

I was wondering if it's possible to use a 3D CAD optimized video card like the Nvidia Quadro in the same machine as a 970 (which I already own), using SLI. I don't need both video cards to work at the same time, that would be cool but I don't really care. Mostly I'm just interested in being able...

    SiliconDust DVR app experiences?

Wow, that's great to know! I won't be buying into the beta any time soon. I was noticing a distinct... lack of updates and communications from them.
