Are you looking for something 4:3?
widescreen seems to be the "standard" these days now:
If you want screen area go for a 24" 1920x1200, not to mention it can double as a full 1080p hdtv if you want
Hey... does anyone use a good HDMI switch for this thing? I got a "terk" 3 port switch from best buy, and everytime I switch back to the computer from the ps3 it goes into "HDMI power save mode" and won't come back on until I reboot the pc (with the switch on that port)
what gives? The switch...
its called re-sampling (or lack there-of)
think about how when changing the resolution on a lcd, everything looks blurry wen it is not the native res. more or less the same effect
what makes it even worse is when they change the aspect ratio too.
experience experience experience
degrees and certifications don't mean anything if you don't know what you are doing!
I have been working part time as a web developer this past year and my company just offered me a full time position after I graduate in may (SIS). I can tell you that I...
Rest Easy... this monitor IS HDCP :D
I have confirmed this with blu-ray on the ps3... I wigged at first because i was getting no video but after messing with the settings somehow my "super white" setting got turned on. I turned it off and was able to drool at the 1080pness
anyone one have some quick suggestions for calibration? Right now srgb looks the most accurate to me... and i don't feel like reading through the whole thread :p
thank you sir, you just saved me over 300$!!
My circuit city had it for $277 making my total under $300!!!
I was really liking the doublesight but i couldn't pass up this deal.. plus he fact of instant gratification and a return policy!
Here are some pics of it with my shitty 2001fp...
Ok, trying to sort through all this monitor stuff is driving me crazy!
I am looking for the following in a monitor:
24"+
1920 x 1080
HDMI
HDCP
great picture quality (duh)
ability to interface easily with ps3 (1:1 scaling ?)
preferably non-glossy
good viewing angle
so far I think I have...
So i'm pretty fed up with doing everything from scratch and am looking to start taking advantage of one of these frameworks floating around.
So far I am looking at cake, symphony, and code-igniter.
Anyone have any recommendations?
I'm looking for someting that is

kind of a workaround, but since its working for divs, how about you set the background image and height and width with an inline style, that way the user sees the image but the code sees a div?
nope... manually set web config to run on port 1000 and it still brings up the login box everytime i type in the external ip.
any trustworthy router guru want to log into my router and try to forward everything to 192.168.11.100 ? :D
yeah, even tried forwarding everything and putting it into the "dmz" but it still redirects to the web administration of the router.
Buffalo wireless-g airstation if anyone has anything similar.
I tried rebooting it and even updating the firmware.
thanks for the reccomendation, ispconfig was kind of a bitch to install but webmin was easy as pie.
currently playing around with centos... now if only i get it to be seen by the outside :(
just to give everyone a heads up, I found what looks like a promising open-source control panel, ISPConfig
There are also some great guides that show you step by step how to set everything up.
Following the centos guide right now!

these are the stats of my server :
1 gb pc 3200 ddr

Is there anywhere I can download red hat enterprise from or do you have to pay for it?
And are there any good virtualzation tuorials or information, this sounds like something I am definitely imterested in. Before I would run apache on one port and iis on another but...
So i'm a web developer, and I would like to get some more hands on experience with setting up and configuring web servers.
I have run apache (xampp) and iis on my own machine with no problems, but I am looking for a less watered down approach, as I have a computer that is sitting around...
you need to have mail() setup correctly if you are running it locally. It is not going to just magically send an email with no smtp server etc etc.
The problem with mail() is that there is no way to read the errors, the function will just execute.
So basically, if you are running it...
web design and web development are two different things.
Most high end sites are designed by the DESIGNERS and developed by the DEVELOPERS.
Unless you are into art and want to pursue that avenue, I would concentrate on the tangible skills such as programming logic and implementation.
nero will let you make an image of the game disk
many games now a days are on double layer disks (8.5 gb) so if you want to burn the image you are going to need a DL burner and DL media
why no logitech?
I have this one and it is everything I wanted. Good asthetics, slim, low price, everything I need, nothing I dont!

agreed...
and i did get raped on the price, but at the time i needed a card (had already ordered mobo and everything) so i wasn't about to wait for price drops.
So basically I have an EVGA 8800GT KO edition, paid $310 bucks for it.
I see newegg has the new EVGA g92 8800GTS for $359.99.
A) do you guys think it is worth the hassle / expense / performance gain of $50 to step-up to this?
B) do you think they will come out with a revised 8800GTX? If so...
Its definently just your cpu. 3dmark gets a huge chunk of its score from the cpu tests so thats why you are seeing "subpar" scores.
How are your games running?
Yet another reason why game benchmarks > synthetic benchmarks
