Overall I thought it was a good review, mostly based on the fact that finally someone came up with a way to do it quantitatively.
There are some issues with giving extra points for more buttons. One of the most interesting things that the issue brought to light was the oscillating polling...
Someone pointed it out I think, but the MX440 isn't a true GeForce4. It was just a slight tweak of the old GF2 design with better memory handling I believe...so the thing has no shaders.
My thanks to kuyaglen for showing me the existence of such an awesome keyboard. I totally prefer the new BTC over the old Gateway I had been using.
Scissor keys FTW!
Yeah, I actually play a round every day. I host on the East Coast, usually some version of *****DOTAx.x no DL is the game name. I run banlist, so most games turn out pretty well.
Generally, if you have had enough time to get your wolf a bloodfury and DE, you've been creeping too long. Get...
Overpowered was back in version 1.0 when a hit to your toe would be instant death with an awp. At least these days, sometimes it takes more than 1 hit.
It cracks me up that people are complaining about this change, "OMGZ0rs!!111, the prices of *insert weapon here* are going to shoot through the roof! This will completely unbalance and change the game!"
No it won't. Prices will stabilize at the amount that the entire free market is willing...
Well, based on the fact that originally, you never mentioned the fact you were playing on "CAL" servers...it's logical to assume you were pubbing, so his response was appropriate.
In re-stating my original answer to your question, lag has nothing to do with your fps.
Give us some results...
:) Hence why I asked what mousepad you were using.
Certain pads just interact strangely with different mice. Give a different pad a try to see if that makes a difference. A mousepad is cheaper to change out than a mouse.
It's weird that we still have to tell people this, but your frames per second have nothing to do with lag...
Lag is from your internet connection. Like someone posted below, check your net_graph to see if you have choke or loss, if you do, find a better server.
cl_cmdrate and cl_updaterate can be set anywhere between 33 and 100.
Why would you have different numbers? Well it depends on what server you are playing on. The more expensive Source servers these days are 100tick servers, meaning they will accept 100 updates from your per second (if your...
So apparently going in and enabling a preference in the filters tab is too much work for you? I totally understand, I get pissed off when I actually have to physically move my mouse to make my computer do anything as well.
Personally, I'd much rather fix the preferences once, as...
That's disturbing. Though the spec radar is slightly less useful, since the focus is so much closer, but the fact that it's possible still sucks. Thankfully with Steam, it can be patched quickly.
As for the people that want the old radar back, it was already pointed out in an earlier post...
ESFclan.net has a great server, it's almost always full, with a couple admins on at once. It's a 100tick server as well, and has the realistic physics enabled, so you don't bounce off the filing cabinets.
That's not the best script order, since you would be buying a vest only every time, even if you had the cash to buy the vesthelm. You should reverse the two, and then you'd be ok.
Just request a password reset through Steam. It'll send you the password to your email account, and you can change it...much like any other online login system. Once you've done this, you're all set to go.
Minor problem with installing the drivers needed to get C&Q to run...my XP install is on F: not C: as most people. The driver refuses to install, because it can't find a windows install. Does anyone have any experience with this issue?
You mean server side right? 100 tick servers are always so much more enjoyable to play on, especially if you play with interp and interpolate off or low. AFAIK the graphics card on the server has no effect if 100 tick slows down more than 66 ticks. It's all proc intensive, since the server...
Yeah, I actually saw this tv too when I was looking around. I was just leery about going with a brand that I had never heard of before, that and the response rate might be an issue for my gaming. Is there no brightness adjustment option for the tv in the built-in menu? I guess I could always...
32" display here
So I got my weekly buy.com email today, and this deal looked pretty fantastic. cnet review said it was decent, and now I'm just looking for some input from you guys out there. I don't exactly have room in my apartment for a larger TV, and this one can serve as a secondary...
Any reason why not just buy two speaker stands for your rear channels? I've got some for my Logitechs, and I think it's great. I'll post a pic when I get out of work later tonight.
Since my old main IDE HDD crashed and died, I decided to get a slightly more future-proof SATA 3.0GB/s drive, namely the Seagate. However, I've heard some horror stories about installing XP onto an SATA drive, namely that the install won't recognize the drive since SATA didn't exist at the...
Yeah, I've decided not to even really try to recover the drive. I'm just kind of pissy because this drive was only 1 year old. I've heard Seagate has the best reliability at this time...that and the SATA Seagates I've been looking at have a 5 year warranty.
I'm thinking of using this old...
I actually just had my 80GB Western Digital, the drive with the XP install, die on me yesterday. I'm not very thrilled right now, luckily my data was backed up on my other drives. I'm confident it wasn't heat, as like someone previously, my HDD rack has a 120mm fan pointed at it, so it might...
You want to know the true meaning of fear? Try when camping with friends in West Virginia on a white water rafting trip surrounded by natives. One friend stands up to ask for my car keys, he says he's got some music he wants to put on. Next thing I know, I hear those first few magical plucks...
Exactly! I would totally move to the newer G5 or G7 from my MX700...but I love the browsing buttons on the side too much. Can't believe they removed those buttons.
