To run 5040x1050 on 3 monitors with SLI'd 460s, do you need cards with 2gigs of ram? Will 1 gig cards do the job?
I haven't payed a lot of attention to triple monitor OR SLI stuff as it's never been anything I would want/need. I have a friend who is upgrading his system now for MS Flight Sim...
I'm helping a friend build a computer specifically for Microsoft Flight Simulator X and he wants to use triple monitors horizontally with it.He has already purchased a 2500K SB and the build is going to be around that and his monitors. If there is a STRONG case for a different cpu, make the...
The PEOPLE of the US own the frequency bands. The government is supposed to oversee that they aren't used in a manner against the public good. Too bad it's not happening.
As often happens when Nvidia comes out with a new generation of video cards, I've been hearing the newest drivers have problems with older hardware (fan control for example). I was wondering which drivers to go to (currently 195.62s). I was also wondering if NVIDIA is EVER going to get "Do Not...
This would answer the exact question I was going to ask except that at those video settings, aren't you possibly GPU limited? Could you try that same test at a lower resolution with AA turned off? I'm on the fence between an i5-750 and an i7-860 for a new system that will primarily be a gaming...

I assume it has some big flaw since it's like $25. Anyone who knows this stuff able to elucidate?
My monitor is 1900x1080 but I play a couple games at a lower resolution. In WinXP I set it to "Do not scale" and lived with the black bars. In Win7 64-bit I set it to "do not scale" and when I click yes it just goes back to "Use my display's built in scaling". I'm using the 195,62 drivers, it...
I've walked out of bad movies and gotten my money back. Reviews are subjective and can not give 100% accuracy. The day of selling bullshit by hyping it enough are coming to and end and those who continue to produce that shit will go out of business eventually.
As far as piracy, I'm against...
HELP! It was running just fine so I loaded up TF2 and it locked up while loading the map. Rebooted and it will not go into the bios, just keeps restarting before the bios screen comes up. I'm getting the error code for wrong cpu voltage as this happens. Cleared the CMOS, same result. Put my...
OK, at 9x400 3.6ghz 1.27v it's running 58C/57C on P95 smalFFT tests and 55C/54C on blend. Ambient temp is 23C/74F. Odd thing, at idle there is a 6C temp difference between the 2 cores but at load it's 2C. It's idling right now at 37C/31C. I bumped the voltage a hair because of the ip35 pro's...
how much overclock? I'm sitting on 54C/53C running Prime95 right now at stock 3ghz. What's typically a good overclock with the stock cooler and what temps are OK at load? I've just upgraded from an e4400 to the e8400 and had to use the stock cooler for now.
CPU: E8400 E0 stepping 1.25v stock...
Yes, I plan to also get a Q9550 and overclock it to go along with the GTX275. It's going to end up about $100 more than I had wanted to spend, but like you said it'll last a couple of years before I need to upgrade. Once again I appreciate everyone's input.
Just wanted to reply one more time. I picked up a GTX275 yesterday. If I hadn't gotten a pretty good deal on this card, I was going to get a 260 simply because I wanted to stay Nvidia this time around. I appreciate all the help and discussion.
I've been debating between the XFX 4870 and 4890 ($149 and $199 respectively) and am leaning towards a simple GPU upgrade. I've been wondering though, if an overclocked e8400 would permit me to hold off on a full upgrade for another 18-24 months. So far, very few games show an improvement with...
My current system:

ip35pro
6 gigs DDR2 800 [email protected]
8800GT
WD Caviar Black 1TB HD
It does all I need it to do right now although I am seeing SOME need for improvement in SOME games and know I'll need more video/cpu horsepower soon.
Options:
1) e8400 and...
I'm switching from my 8800GTS320 to an 8800GT (putting the old card in a different machine) and I'm currently running 169.09 drivers. Do I NEED to go to a newer driver for the 8800GT 512? What driver do you guys recommend? I generally only update video drivers when required by new games or hardware.
I just picked up a PNY 8800GT 512 at BBuy for $149. seemed like too good a deal to pass up. Is there a consensus on aftermarket coolers for these things? I'd like something that won't be as loud as the stock fan at 100%
I haven't messed with TVout in years and wanted a few answers to specifically how it works through the Nvidia control panel.
equipment:
desktop computer: C2D, 8800GTS 320meg, 2 gigs ram, onboard sound, winXP
HDTV: older Panasonic CRT monitor (ie no tuner and only takes 480 i/p and 1080i...
Actually the 8800GTS (G80) cards have a 320-bit memory bus, not 128. That's why the 640meg version can handle higher AA and resolutions than an 8800GT if the core is overclocked to GT speeds.
