I love my card it's plenty fast. Although I'm having a problem. I'm almost certain it is video card related, I currently am running dual monitors, one is standard VGA the other is DVI. Both will suddenly lose video, sometimes during boot, sometimes just sitting idle, and a few times while in...
I just recently acquired a 2.8ghz HT P4 for free. However the Dell it came with is hosed, the motherboard isn't reliable, will turn on when it feels like it, etc... I want to get a motherboard for it, but don't want to shell out a bunch of money. What is the cheapest motherboard I can get...
I have the XFX Alpha Dog 8800gt and I get random blank screens. I know it's not Vista crapping out because I can still here things going on. It usually only happens when loading Windows, and so far never in Linux. I have had my screen go black a few times while in Windows also. I just bought...
I have the cd key that came with it. Infact I have everything that came in the plastic box, other than the first CD. Is there anything I can do about it?
Trying to connect to my home pc from work.
Well believe me it does. I had RDP enabled, the firewall disabled, I had a popup tell me that I couldn't use RDP without Windows' firewall. If Windows' firewall or any firewall for that matter never pops up and asks if you want to allow access to a...
I disagree the firewall in vista is nothing but annoying. I'm behind a NAT there is no need for a firewall on my machine. It is constantly asking if I want to block or unblock applications. I want it completely disabled, and yes it does cripple RDP if you disable it.
I'm running Vista ultimate edition, and the stupid Windows' firewall is annoying as piss. I've disabled the service only to find out it cripples RDP as well.
That's like taking the stock tires off your car and putting on wider ones, and the entire car stops working. Way to go Microsuck.
I think you're all making this harder than it needs to be. If you have Vista installed first, just resize your partition using Windows Vista to your desired size. Stick in Ubuntu (I'm assuming you're installing 7.10?) boot off it, and then follow the instructions. Make two partitions when it...
I've had mine for a year, and never received a shock. Only thing I've had to do to it was replace the motherboard because I screwed up the ac adapter plug.
For the record I was trying to install yahoo messenger. I double clicked on the dmg and it'd give me all that in my OP, 10.3 has fixed my problems.

Everytime I try to install a program from a dmg disk copy (or whatever the program is) complains about the disk being unreadable. Also says something about it being read only. I've tried doing it from the command line, and no luck there either. I'm a noob to macs, so any help, is appreciated.
My PCI slot's just suddenly died on me, I've flashed my bios to the latest release, I've done practically everything I know to do short of pulling the video card out (which is pcie).
To colaborate my story I have the following links...

My 386 kernel only uses 885MB of my 1GB of ram. The 686 K7 kernel fixed it though, I reverted back to the 386 kernel because of some issues with the nvidia kernel module.
Firefox takes longer to load because it's not already loaded at the time when your computer boots. Firefox does seem a little slower at loading some images, however, the tradeoff is worth it.
I want to make my mstsc.exe (remote desktop) autologin on a specified machine just by double clicking an icon. So far I've figured out the arguements to use to get it to auto point to a certain machine, I just need to get it to autologin to said machine.
Currently here's what I have...
