I met a guy tonight who claims he has a working / may need some minor repair promedia 4.1 set (the old set). I should know in a few days if he can find them! :D
I use Klipsch reference series in the HT. I was trying to avoid going all out for this setup. A step down from the Z5500 in power but maybe a step up in high-mid quality on the LT and RT channels.
How is the build quality? The finish looks good, but do they fall apart? Support non-existent so break it good luck? Looks like Parts Express sells parts?
thanks for the suggestions guys!
The emotivas sure look pretty. What is the general consensus on Edifier brand products. The S330D's look a lot like my Logitch Z5500's only in a 2.1 set.
I sold my Z5500 and missing them a little bit now. Trying to downsize. No more behemoth subwoofer in the office. Plus in a condo so I don't need super room-shaking bass.
I was able to pick up a set of MM-1 to demo and for $500 I was really under-impressed.
Setup:
Alienware core i7
EVGA GTX...

Any recommendations on a good site for comparing performance of newer generation cards?
I am considering building or buying an i7-920 system and popping my Sapphire 4850 reference model crossfire setup in it. Would it be better to go to a single card, say 5850?
Edit: I have a crossfire...
no, definitely not vibration. measured using a voltmeter. The circuit tester used on the wall outlet shows an open ground situation when I plug the PSU into it. It returns to normal ok status when I unplug the PSU. I originally thought it was a short/ground problem with my house wiring...
I have a system I built on a top deck tech bench

The problem I have right now is that there is approximately 20V running across anything plugged into the PSU. So I get a jolt if I touch anything metallic...

Hello there.
I currently have a Core2Duo E6600 setup that I will be upgrading to a Q6600 setup. I also am using a Enermax Liberty 500W PSU. Will this power supply be enough for the quad core and buying two HD4850 for crossfire? I am upgrading from a single slot X1900 radeon card.
Hello,
First off let me say that I have scoured google, symantec etc for any help on this and I am down to my last resort.
Has anyone out there had a problem of installing NIS 2005 and it says Norton Antispam is integrated into OE and it says it is on but it is not hitting any spams...
also, if someone could give me some input as far as how the 680/5500 work...
i like my ada885 which have stereo, stereox2, quad, prologic, DD sound field modes. do these logitechs have similar sound field options?
thanks for any help/feedback.
i would also be interested in any comments regarding the onboard decoder. i am looking to finally upgrade my AL ADA885 which have onboard DD decoder which i use via audigy digital spdif out. i am trying to decide between these and the promedia ultras. (which do not have onboard decoder)
wondering if anyone has had trouble printing standard size checks with manual feed. we are trying to use "centered" method and 3" of the check is lost off the check. We have a Brother printer.
