They certainly try to :)
Some load temp testing just to see where Corsair H50-1 cooling is at for Core i7 2600K L038A660. I did quick 3 pass Linx run and took screenshots at exact same time in the benchmark run.

As explained here, after remounting Corsair H50-1 with proper mount and thermal paste contact, I managed to a bit more stability when it comes to all core benchmarking i.e. wprime 1024M at 5.2Ghz 1.490v bios (1.512v idle while ET6 reports 1.50v) windows was passable. But stil this Core i7 2600K...

Only tightened tRFC 88 and set 1T CMD rate manually for first run @5001Mhz. Strange as I mentioned before with 21.33Mhz memory multiplier at 7-7-7-24 timings with 34x cpu multi 100.2bclk had issues, but...
Elpida Hyper Testing on Gigabyte P67A-UD7
The A-Data 2000X Elpida BBSE didn't like 7-8-7x at 2133Mhz as it's a low vdimm 1.58-1.60v type of modules so higher vdimm needed would error out. So swapping over to some Elpida Hyper testing. Tried one 2x2GB SuperTalent 2200C8 Elpida Hyper kit and...
First Sandy Bridge cpu run with Intel Core i7 2600K L038A660 with Gigabyte P67A-UD7. The Gigabyte P67A-UD7 was flashed from shipping bios F3 to F7f and immediately clocked it up on both cpu and memory end. 2x2GB A-Data 2000X - Elpida BBSE modules left on auto main and sub timings and set to...

no such requirement for uncore (cpu vtt) to vcore closeness, just some core i7 9xx bloomfields clocked better with them close while others don't need for such a requirement.
Yup 980x 1.5x uncore to mem ratio is all that is needed but be aware as you lower uncore, most x58 boards auto tighten...
for 6x2GB DDR3 clocking check out http://i4memory.com/f54/asus-x58-6-12gb-memory-overclocking-detecting-less-memory-than-installed-19200/ and http://i4memory.com/f83/12gb-data-2000x-ddr3-testing-20350/ while not same board, the principles for 6x2GB DDR3 stability are the same

haha i wish 166k vantage :) Most of 40k gtx295 means 4 gpus and 4.8-5.0ghz i7 cpu clocks.. this above is 3 gpus and <4.7ghz cpu clocks :)

Guys point is we have gamers and we have benchers.. I'm the latter.

Yeah they're still in demand but virtually no stock or a handfull off them so hard to say if folks are willing to pay such prices. HD5850 coming in at AUD$499 too.
Some retailers here in OZ have dozens of back orders with no stock insight so started refunding customers on request !
congrats proxy.. you'll love these cards especially power draw wise w3570 @4614mhz at 1.44v H20 HT enabled with 3x hd5870 @985/1263 1.225v only 730 watts total system power draw hehe
guess you haven't seen Australian prices
5870 = AUD$650-799
5970 = AUD$1150-1250
AUD$1 = US$0.925 or £0.56
Last week, I grabbed 3x HD5870 Sapphires (flashed to Asus bios for higher CCC slider limits). Seem to be on overall more trouble free from user reports especially for flashing to Asus or MSI unlocked bioses and use of MSI Afterburner tool.
XFX seem good for USA folks, but very bad for Australia...
FYI the above are dual channel 2x2GB kits x 3 for 12GB ;)
XMP profile for 2000mhz 2x2GB A-Data 2000X on X58 is 1.35v QPI/DRAM and 1.65v vdimm probably for p55 platform though as X58 needs more QPI/DRAM due to higher minimum QPI frequency multiplier
As i mentioned above at DDR3-1909Mhz 7-8-7-x 2T more stable than 1T as 2 of the 6 modules don't like >1.64v vdimm but 1T requires more vdimm for stability :)
Now pushing 12GB A-Data 2000X to 8x32M Pi stable @DDR3-2000Mhz 8-9-8-25 2T at 1.62v vdimm with 1.50 QPI/DRAM uncore voltage with max...

Now to test higher memory frequency with 7-8-7-25 timings at 1.62v vdimm. 1T results in ~10% more memtest86+ v4.0 reported bandwidth than 2T, but 1T was only stable for Super Pi 1M and...
yeah it can be if you get one or two modules that don't behave the same way - but a little extra elbow work and testing can get it to work http://i4memory.com/f83/12gb-data-2000x-ddr3-testing-20350/ - cost only AUD$396 or US$352 :)
