I just went through this jumping from lenovo u430 -> asus ux302la -> yoga 2 -> samsung ativ 9 -> dell 14 7000 -> dell xps 13 -> mb pro -> finally t440s.
I couldn't find anything that I felt 100% happy with after seeing in person or reading forums. Finally got so tired of looking that I just...
my nexus real silent fans came with rubber screws but when I use them the fan filter won't slide into place. Ugh why can nothing just work lol.
edit: zip ties to the rescue I guess ha ha.
Has anyone else noticed that the screw mounting holes for the bottom position are smaller then the top, back, and sides. I noticed there was no rubber grommets on the bottom making it impossible to use the included screws to mount a fan. I moved the grommets from the side panel since I don't...
Thanks for the response redbeard. I was hoping to get further on it today but didn't have time to get beyond just setting the motherboard in. I agree that a few cables routed behind will probably put a stop to the rattle. I'll update as soon as life stops getting in the way and I can finish...
I can answer a few.
1. Grommets seem sturdy. I don't have any other cases with this feature to compare to though. I just moved my finger around in one of them pretty aggressively and everything flexes around and returns as it should. No indication of anything separating from the case...
it sits properly on the ground. I just wobbled the whole case to emphasize the rattle. You can see when I simply use my finger the panel is not secure even after closing it securely. The other panel works just fine and does not move at all.
I'm definitely going to try and take care of this on my own. The idea of shipping the side panel, waiting...., getting a new one and then having the chance of it still rattling seems like a comedy of errors that could happen to me, lol.
I haven't even gotten my system finished, so this may...
Anyone have this problem with their side panel. Sorry about the bad quality but I think you get the idea.

Not sure if I want to hassle with an RMA or maybe just try to shove some foam in there.
got mine tonight unfortunately didn't have much time to mess with it. The front panel not using magnets is not an issue for me since I simply don't plan to open the door at all.
My main concern and again I've only just glanced over the case is the back outside panel doesn't secure snuggly...
I'd be all over a fractal design case if they hadn't put that huge lettering across the whole front and right at the top. Ruins the entire thing and looks rushed.
I'm upgrading my Athlon 1700+ and noticed something
Gigabyte GAP35 DS3L
C2D E4500
I am using the stock heatsink. Have no plans to overclock. I cleaned the thermal pad off the stock heatsink and applied a line of artic silver 5.
I followed the instructions to install the heatsink...
I need some solid advice. I know NOTHING about WC and I'm trying to decide if I should even bother.
My end result will be something like this...
In terms of specs think top of the line system but one step down so I get almost the best money can buy but without the cost.
NO OC.
NO...
disable apm in the power management, that did it for me.
Side question. How many primary ide channels do you have in your device manager? I have two even though I disabled all IDE channels in the bios. Windows even detects my cdrom even though I put it to "not installed". I cannot...
this is a great board. No FLUFF, which I'm sure is why they can make it so cheap. Passive cooling is such a huge plus to me along with a single NIC, honestly the whole dual onboard nic baffles me. www.anandtech.com was right to recommend this board and is a great read if anyone needs further...
kinda a side question but I know the P&C 510 is atx12v 2.2 but do you know if there are any others.
I was going to get the seasonic s12 but its only 2.0. Should I not worry about this? Even if it really doesn't matter I'd like to know what other psu's comply with 2.2
I just moved to 1GB and haven't noticed any difference between 512 and 1Gb. If you don't play the most recent games I see no need for 1GB and yes I have many many apps open at once blah blah blah. People are way to ram happy on these forums.
I know that the i440bx doesn't like double sided ram and will only see half of my ram.
My question is even though my 256mb dimm shows as 128mb will this lead to errors or any instability? Will pairing this dimm with another 256mb dimm create any problems or should it work theoretically?
yup saw it in person next to the vx910 and they both reflect like crazy even with the monitor on. I would take the screen door effect any day over that.
just got my vp201s from zipzoomfly today and this thing is awesome.
using dvi on a 9800 pro
zero dead pixels and I honestly see no light leakage.
I turn off all the lights and set my screensaver to blank then hit preview. I see no light leakage, of course if I look at the monitor from...
I ordered one too.
chose between vp201s, 193p, vx910
Seems to have a good balance between all apects. Pretty good for games, pretty good viewing angles, pretty good scaling for other resolutions, pretty good colors and brightness, good case with thin sides.
I'll be happy as long as...
is anyone aware if orinoco makes a usb b/g card. I have the usb b gold card and it works awesome. I pick up about 7 different AP's from my room in my apartment complex while my roomate one room over using netgear can only pick up about half of the AP's I see.
I'm willing to spend the extra...
I'll take a plain black case with no windows, no blow holes. silent cooling with a power and hdd activity light. To me that is what a case should look like. I take the money that would have been spent on pointless things like a window and get more ram or a better cpu. I use my computer for...
I see it listed on enermax's site. But I can't find any online vendors selling it. I can find the P version which comes without the active PFC and the older version of the AX model but not the newest one. Can anyone help me?
hmmm, a local isp needs someone to put together a computer for them? I wouldn't have much faith in that isp unless of course this is a different company than the isp you referred too.
I don't build or work on computers for anyone except myself and immediate family (sister, dad). Not worth the hassle. Almost suddenly you become the 24 hour/7 day a week tech support kid. Everyone starts passing your name around "oh I know a kid who did my computer stuff and charges almost...
anyone know when the enermax noistaker ax with pfc ver 1.3 is being released. It just says coming soon on their website. I'm looking at the EG475AX-VE (G)/(W)SFMA it looks pretty sweet.
I've had the same antec 300watt psu for the past 4 years and it can't handle my new hard drive. I...
