It's a Westinghouse 42" 1080p LCD. Kinda old, but all my other computers can do 1080p no prob on it. I'm wondering if the HDMI to DVI converter is crap?
Aright, so I guess it's a bit of an odd setup, but I ordered an HDMI to DVI converter on monoprice so I could hook up my laptop to my KVM. Oddly enough, when the output is set at 1920x1080, I get a huge amount of flickering pixels. If I set to something normal, like 1024x768, everything is...
I've got 2 RAID 5 arrays on a 3ware 9650se. Both are 4 drives arrays. Drives in the first array are 7200.11 seagates, while the drives in the 2nd array are 7200.12s. The first array gets about 125MB/s avg read in HDTune while the 2nd gets almost 3 times that.
The only difference in the...
Aright, I think this is what I want to use to accomplish this...
I have a VPS w/ 3 IPs. I want to be able to have 2 http servers (one for web, the other for svn) running on different ports and different IPs. How do I set up my DNS so I can hit svn.mydomain.com and it will autoforward to the...
Fronts are Polk Audio LSI15
Center is the Polk Audio LSIC
Rears are pieces of crap (they're next, a pair of LSI9s)
Sub is a 15" Adire Audio Brahma in a custom ported box powered by a Crown XTI1000 (it bumps HARD)
about to pull the trigger on a new HTPC...first off, here are my goals:
1. Emulator box
2. 1080p MKV (almost always h264 video content...i think)
3. Stream music / other media (i'm assuming the 1080p mkvs are the most intensive)
4. Play blu-ray / hd-dvd discs
5. 7.1 sound (going to...
Went w/ Untangle, and man, it's pretty cool. Just having a few issues w/ rules right now, but i can probably get it sorted out. It just seems like my torrents aren't as "stable" as they used to be...seems to drop out sometimes. I can't find whats being blocked, if anything, but I'll probably...
If I turn off DDL I get no sound at all...no windows sounds, no mp3s...nothing. I'd like to be able to turn it off sometimes...
Config:
Auzentech X-Fi Prelude -> Optical Cable -> Onkyo TX-SR605 AV Receiver -> 5 speakers, 1 sub
Vista Ultimate x64
most of all i want something that is relatively easy to use. I have experience setting up Ciscos (barely), but I don't want anything close to that complicated
Aright, first off...I tried pfSense, and it's a bit complicated (I could figure it out probably, but whatever)...heres the machine's specs:
2x Xeon 2.4ghz
2gb RDRAM (god damn rambus)
2x 80gb SCSI drives 10k rpm
4x Linksys Gigabit NICs
So, I could stick w/ pfSense, try IPCOP or Untangle...
yeah but it doesn't work.
I run the XBL connection test and it fails at MTU. Maybe my config is weird? I have 4 NICs, only 3 in use. 1 in from my ISP, 2 out (one LAN, one DMZ). The XBox is plugged into the DMZ switch. It has a static IP of 192.168.2.1 and all the other settings it needs...
I have pfSense running on an old dell, and the LAN and WAN interfaces seem to function fine. I have a 3rd interface that I just added, called "DMZ" that for the life of me I can't set up. I want to put all my video game systems on this interface, so they're wide open. Problem is, I can't...
yeah it ended up failing orthos about 3 hrs in. So its kinda stable, but not really. Right now I set it back to 3.6 w/ stock voltage on everything and it's been running 64-bit Prime95 on both cores for about 6 hours now...not bad. I wanted to start from scratch to make sure I'm not messing...
So it seems to be stable now at:
FSB: 445 (4.0ghz)
VCore: 1.26250
VTT: 1.114
All other voltages stock, RAM clocked down to 333/667
Temps: (realtemp)
Core1: 48 (Idle) 63 (Load)
Core2: 44 (Idle) 46 (Load)
(gotta be a sensor messed up somewhere)
Temps: (everest)
CPU: 40 (Idle)...
damn...and i already had it off once today...tempted to take it off again. Also, are the temp. sensors for the cores accurate at all? They always seem to be 10c off from one another
well...the sound issue seems to happen all the time. The other issues only happen when it's OCed. Here's my OC settings (its a DFI LP LT X48-T2RS)
CPU FSB: 445
RAM Ratio: 333:667 (to rule the RAM out...this is slow)
CPU VID (VCORE) - 1.29375
CPU VTT - 1.30
NB CORE - 1.504
SB CORE -...
I'm having a few probs w/ my machine...i'm not sure it's stable. I ran Orthos last night for 12 hrs, no errors whatsoever. The machine is an e8400 OCed to 4.0ghz, temps seem like they might be a bit high. I was using SmartGuardian to test the temps. Idle is around 55c, load is around 80c...
Well...I hate my Linksys WRT54GS (its a v8, so don't suggest DD-WRT). I'm going to indulge, so I don't want another linksys. My 2 choices as I see it are this:
1. Just buy a Cisco PIX 520 on ebay and call it a day...I know how to configure them, and frankly, its a great firewall/router
2...
I want to start upgrading my speakers, here's my current setup so you can help :-)
Auzentech X-Fi Prelude (connected using optical)
Onkyo TX-SR605
5.0 Klipsch Ultra (5.0 because i'm not using the sub)
$130 Yamaha Garbage Subwoofer
I can live w/ the sub for now...at least it's something...
I just built a system, and was thinking about WC, but opted for air...i still want water. First off, here's what I have:
Silverstone TJ-07
PC Power and Cooling Silencer 750 Quad
DFI LP LT X48 T2RS
E8400 w/ TRUE120 @ 4.0ghz
2x2gb G.Skill DDR2 1066 @ 1069mhz
EVGA 8800gt
Now...I like...
Having a strange problem w/ the above mentioned motherboard. It does this at stock speeds and w/ my OC. I can reboot my computer, and like 90% of the time it's fine. The other 10%, I'll hit reboot in windows, and the machine will turn off instead. I'll then hit the power button, it turns on...
just got a Silverstone TJ-07 for myself...expensive, but definitely the nicest thing I've ever worked inside, and it is setup great for cooling (either air or water)
wish i was home, could give voltage details. Voltage is being pushed a bit on NB, CPU, and RAM (RAM is at 2.1V, i know that...its waht the sticks are rated at). I'll see if I can dump my RAM to get a bit more...not sure it's worth it for 100mhz tho, wouldn't faster RAM be better?
DFI LP LT X48-T2RS Motherboard w/ an Intel E8400 and 2x2gb of G-Skill DDR2 1066 5-5-5-15
I hit 4.0ghz and the RAM is at 1069. If I push the ram a bit more, it won't boot, if i push the cpu a bit more, it won't boot. This boots and works great (2x Prime95 overnight, gets thru 3dmark...
I have my new comp. hooked up to a 42" Westinghouse 1080p monitor...it looks great, but it seems like theres some cutoff on the top of the screen (the cursor goes about halfway off). I know there's a way to fix this, I just can't remember what to do...any help?
Aright, I scrapped the video card idea, maybe I'll add an additional loop later down the road, so for now, just going to be cooling the NB and CPU. Here's what I picked out over at petra's...haven't ordered yet, want to make sure I included everything and want to make sure I didn't pick out any...
