Hey all, So I am trying to build a core i7 workstation for my PhD studies. Going to go with a 940, with 12 gb of ram, on a asus p6t and planning overclocking the bejeezus outta it. Whats a good future proof videocard for matlab image analysis and stuff? I guess it must have over...

If it falls at around 800 dollars range then it will be totally worth it. All i want is a 24 inch that has working inputs.

ok so the real question is where can I buy one right now?

I have a DVI to HDMI cable for my 60 inch LCD rear projection and it does 1080i fine. Got it from radioshack. Digital is digital.

male widescreen 1920x1200 and 1680x1050

so this monitor has life again huh... i was holding off for the benq 24 incher, but if the dell one is going to be cheap and fixed..... any pictures of said A03 yet without banding and fixed component?

im still waiting on this monitor i hope someone tries it soon!

When you hooked it up via s video it defaulted as your secondary screen. Its probably better that way for watching movies in and media player... Unless of course you want to play games on it then just go into the catylist control panel and make the TV your primary.

I have two versions of this TV...the older one with the speakers on the side and the newer version with the speaker bar on the bottom. i dont' have the latest version with no speaker bars at alll... have used the VGA on both of them and they work fine... Im using the back VGA connection...

i have that TV, the panasonic lcd rear projection and it works fine. its running off of intel extreme graphics 2 @ 1024x768 through RGB (VGA)...60hz refresh...

well we wil see who wins the plasma LCD war. sony has bet all its money on LCD panasonic has bet all its money on plasma... may the best product win! that said panasonic 10 gen plasma is really nice, its cheap and awesome.

haha holy shit you are right... i wonder if this same darkening effect holds for all component sources...such as an HDTV box...

so the benq fp241w is out.... what is a good retailer to buy it from?? I usually don't buy monitors from anyone except dell... so whats the story with the 800:1...i thought it was supposed to be 1000:1!

the issue is not whether VGA or component is better its the matter of having all these input availble for different sources! dvi = computer vga = xbox360 component = hd cable box so they all need to work reasonably well... since it doesn't have hdmi anyways...

dude the bottom line is that i don't want to buy a halfassed monitor id rather dish out more cash for something that works the way it is supposed to! that said i can't believe there aren't any other 24inchers with multimedia inputs yet. and im dissapointed that dell fucked this one up...

doubt anything can upconvert to that ridiculous 2560x1600 resolution....

Hehe 15.4 1920x1200 plenty of room! Nice pics. Shame about the input lag...more people shoudl really made more monitors with multimedia inputs :D but they can't do that they would cut into their samsung lcd hdtv line...oh marketing and politicing....what a shame.

crap are you kidding me? i saw good screenies from the main nec gmx2 forum and they looked fine.... are you running it on 720p or 1080i mode?

I am in the same position, I for one am waiting for the BENQ 24 inch to come out first. Or for Dell to fix the 2407, whichever comes first. The NEC 24 is kind of super pricey....but if it drops around 1200 I might consider it.

isn't 2 DVI? 3 is component? 1 is vga?
