Anyone else seeing this?
Since upgrading my iPhone 5 to iOS7, my Wordpress sites don't fit in the full screen. They seem to be at about 150% intended size. You have to scroll right to view all of the content. This happens on both Chrome and Safari, and with several different mobile plugins so...
I did use Auslogics Registry Cleaner - but that was after I had these issues. I ended up having to manually remove iTunes and then used the Reg Cleaner afterwords.
The "upgrade" price is obviously selling the hardware at a loss. Being able to get a new iPhone for $199 is a very reasonable price, and buying it new (not on upgrade) for $550 seems to be right for me. That's ballpark for what it has been for a long time.
I haven't paid a cent to upgrade my...
Thanks for the reply. It is strange that the same thing happened on 2 of my computers (1 desktop and the other my home server) so I'm guessing it has something to do with software or a combination of software I installed.
It was first noticed on my server when I couldn't install/upgrade...
Win7 Home Premium, Core i7, 6GB ram, 64bit
I'm stumped... something has happened on 2 systems that prevents my admin user account from being able to install updates.
First I noticed that while installing new software that there were permissions problems while trying to write to the start...
That is odd that this one would be 1066MHz while the others at that time period were 800MHz. I never thought that would be an issue; I guess it isn't the same as how desktop mobos handle it.
Also interesting how the T9400s are so much cheaper than the T9300s and T9500s on eBay right now.
I got...
Yes it works fine with the T5270. In fact, I am posting from it right now in Linux Mint.
I read one post on a blog that said it may be because of incompatibility with the chipset... apparently the T9300 and T9500s will work... meh.
I'm upgrading the processor on a Dell Vostro 1500 laptop and can't get it to power on.
Original processor was a Core 2 Duo T5270 (1.4 GHz)
I purchased and installed a Core 2 Duo T9400 SLB46 2.53GHz 1066MHz and it won't boot.
I've tried it with one stick of RAM, battery/no battery...
Wondering if anyone has had any luck polishing a G5 tower. Mine is all scratched up and I was hoping some rubbing compound and elbow grease would do the trick.
Thanks.
I too use Clonezilla. In fact, I just cloned a 60GB SSD to a 1TB HDD and it worked fine. Just remember to remove the original source drive when you boot... I had an ID collision or something like that and Win7 didn't like it.
It isn't a wire to the HD, I booted a live CD with no HD present and it did the same thing.
I also removed the internal wifi card and taped off the antenna wires.
This wasn't my laptop... it was given to me so I don't know the history of it being dropped or anything like that.
Oh well...
HP Specs
Integrated graphics.
I just took off the keyboard and power switch pad and everything is tight and properly seated. Also, it is not a charger/battery issue.
I have an old HP DV4000 that I'd like to use as a server. (vortexbox.org).
It was running fine with XP a few months ago. I recently installed Puppy linux and it works fine but... now when I hit the power button, it is hit and miss if it boots.
Sometimes it will power on and do nothing...
I'm hoping someone has an idea of how to manage this growing database.
This is a database of project information for my company, with the data stored on a partner company's network. We access it through a web interface and can download as an xls or csv from the web interface.
The problem...
I prefer it and even enable it on CRTs as well. My laptop, wife's laptop, 20" work monitor and 20" widescreen for my workstation at home (all at native res) all have it turned on. Text looks much better IMO with it on.
As mentioned above, this is the vbulletin default template. Their template must have gotten hosed or turned off somehow. I'm sure it will be back to the original [H] black and red soon.
Interesting... so I've been trying to determine if I should go with a gigabit file server for backup vs a USB or firewire solution.
Since any HD I have won't surpass 80MB/s, which is 480 megabits, it seems like they all are bottlenecked by the HD. A gigabit solution would be the cheapest for...
Ok thanks guys. Thanks for the info umbolo...
So what does SATA II give you over SATA I? It is just a theorhetical speed increase that can't be realized because of hardware limitations? What can take advantage of SATA II?
Anyway, this is good too because my Video editing machine already...
Have you looked at Slimserver? It is built for the SlimDevices products but works fine (and is free) for any PC through your browser.
http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html
It can use iTunes as your database or utilize its own database. I've used it for over 3 years.
I'd open it up and make sure everything is seated properly and plugged in correctly. Maybe the CPU fan isn't spinning (its looking for feedback I think). Check the fans in the PSU also.
Is there a lot of dust in there?
Otherwise, I agree that it could be a PSU problem.
Have you already installed iTunes? Did you run the latest Apple updater?
I forget the key combination, but google for "ipod reset" or "ipod hard reset" and you'll find out how to reset the system. I think it might be hold the play/pause and menu buttons at the same time for a few seconds.
I own both drives and have a mobo that supports SATA 3.0 GB/s. Should I make my main drive the 35GB Raptor (SATA I, 10krpm, 8mb cache) or the Barracuda (SATA 3.0 GB/s, 7200rpm, 16mb cache)?
I have a video editing machine that only supports SATA 1.5 GB/s so the Raptor could be used for that...
I'm a fan of the Saitek keyboards. I have the Eclipse II. It is marketed as a gaming keyboard... in which it works well... but it is also nice to type with. It has extra weight so it doesn't slide around too easy and there aren't a ton of useless extra buttons.
I previously had 2 Logitech...
Thanks for the suggestions... instead of using the downloaded drivers, I used the drivers from the application CD that came with my laptop and it worked fine. I did not have the Intel base system driver (or whatever that was... all my other systems are AMD)
Strange though that it let me join...
This is very odd...
I have an 802.11g router that I've had for about 3 years and it has worked great. My 3-year old Compaq laptop has an internal Broadcom card. It worked fine on the network until just a few weeks ago.
Now, I can't connect to my own wireless network... most of the time, I...
Hmmm, I see what you're saying. Unfortunate...
It sounds like even if we create a distro out of this, it still probably won't have the software to actually do what the thing is designed to do.
Maybe my next step is to get registered as a dealer. :D
OK thanks. It is the AudioRequest by Request Multimedia. Here's the article I wrote about it - which is the reason why I have it, and the reason why I can't go through a dealer to update it.
Go to request.com and click on Support/Downloads and you'll see where I got the package from... that's...
Well, if the tarball had instructions I would have read them and done it by myself
So you want to download a 700MB file just to see how to help me? That's so nice.
How about I just post what is in the tarball....
Thanks again for any help.

Not new to Linux, but new to compiling from source.
I have a digital music server that runs on QNX. The manufacturer has created a new OS for it based on Linux. In order to upgrade from the QNX version to the Linux version, I'd have to go through a dealer and pay for it...
However, they...
Yeah I heard the Nvidia control panel works great with the ATI Radeon 9800. We know 1280x800 is the right res... but that is not an option.
Anyway, I'm playing at 1280x768 16:10 and it looks good.
BTW, if you have an "old" system like mine and need a performance boost, go to the video...
A few questions about CoD2 and my rig...
I have a 2005FPW but my computer needs updating. My rig is a Barton2800, 1GB PC3200, Raptor, 9800pro 128MB.
CoD2 offers widescreen resolutions but none match my aspect ratio. The 2005FPW is 1680x1050. I doubt I can run at the resolution, however...
