    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

Bit the bullet and got myself the C2. Moved the 48 C1 to the bedroom, 42' is a much more comfortable size :) No regrets. No difference in terms of brightness and PQ between the two, at least not that I can see.

    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

The problem is that it is very hard to switch back once you go OLED. The thing that bothers me the most when I used a non-OLED screen is the ghosting and backlight bleed So make the switch with care :D

    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

Have had my C1 now for about 18-20 months Use it 8h a day minimum as its my main screen for work. I dont hide the task bar. Only thing here in Ireland it is usually dark, so I have my OLED brightness set to 20-30% as it is too bright otherwise. No burn it thus far. No complaints or regrets, I...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

Having used both, text rendering is much better on the OLED due to the WRGB arrangement.

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

Yea in bright colourful content its not noticeable even when looking for it however if you have a bright single colour, whites and greys, it was very obvious. I read on AnandTech that anything below 20% difference to max brightness is not noticable anything above 30% is a bad panel.

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

So seems like I wasnt alone with the uniformity issues :( Was really jarring for me, Yellowish corners was a no no

    LG 48CX

Yea I usually have the 3840x1600 on RPGs like cyberpunk and horizon zero dawn, and the extra real-estate does help. I think 1080p would be too wide and distorted.

    LG 48CX

I do notice the tinting towards the edges but thats just because at a sitting distance, the edges are at an angle. Sitting further away, I dont notice them

    LG 48CX

OLED brightness is the actual brightness of the screen. The higher it is the higher the chance of burn in due to static images. It very much depends on your room. I have an IPS screen next to mine to display stats and icons, it have it set to 70 brightness. For my OLED I have it set to 25-30...

I finally decided which new phone, the 2021 Motorolla One 5g Ace is the best choice.

I do get like 4-5 hours screen on time on my phone daily but its mostly indoors, I have auto brightness set to it goes to 30 or so. 100 outside though. No sign of any burn in, never had any on my previous Sammy phones too. I just find the 100 to be blinding unless I am outside in direct sunlight...

I finally decided which new phone, the 2021 Motorolla One 5g Ace is the best choice.

I was a big HTC guy back in the day when they were making phones for Google, I had the Nexus One and HTC Desire. Absolutely loved those. Switched to the Note devices from Samsung after and cant really go back, prefer the big screen and just the overall design from Samsung, they are shit in...

I finally decided which new phone, the 2021 Motorolla One 5g Ace is the best choice.

Are you on 100% brightness on your phone 8-10 hours a day? lol I've had OLED phone screens since the S2 days and never had a single burn in experience :D

I finally decided which new phone, the 2021 Motorolla One 5g Ace is the best choice.

Yea thats whats good wiith android, that said though there is still a lot of propietary code, Samsung is the biggest culprit. So wih custom roms some basic features like camera or mic etc.. might not work, worth checking out and asking on XDA

HTC is gone so I wouldnt count much on it being supported in the long run.

    OLED Eye Fatigue

No flickering on mine, the only thing around eye strain is when doing HDR at night, it is a little too bright for me, I have to dim it

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

Agreed, its always a personal preference as to what you can live with. Imperfections, limitations etc.. I had a FV and it was superb for gaming for me, but not so great for text, work and general web browsing, whereas C1 is good at all those but since OLED, it has its own weaknesses as many...

Or you can get a small 7" monitor and have all that on there :D I have a spare 21" I use for the same, I put all my desktop icons and system stats on there :)

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

I mainly use my big screen for work as well, 75% of the time, connected to my shitty office laptop. That said I do have a 6900XT which is got for close to MSRP after letting go of my RTX 2080 Super at the same price I bought it a year ago :D

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

I think the worst thing about VA is ghosting and the tinting, coming from and IPS Screen, it was quite obvious and took me sometime to adjust. Not so noticeable was black crush which I only noticed playing some dark games that look much much better on VA. IPS Glow was something I didnt miss...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

Again it depends, I had this and loved it but there were a few things that were bugging me so I returned it and got the C1 which I am loving now, again it is not perfect but better fits my area and usecase. If you are dimly lit room (now here I mean there is no light in front of your screen or a...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

Nah its is just the uniformity of the screen, all of them will have it up to a degree hence why I didnt bother exchanging it for another, even a few of the reviewers had it on their sample, again it very much depends on what you are consuming. For gaming you wont even notice it. I would check...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

You should be fine, if you are mostly gaming and content consumption, its hell of a screen. It gets really bright and if you are also in a bright room, it is brilliant. Viewing angles are nice too. I noticed the dimness on the corners especially on one side but again it wasnt too bothersome...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

I think at the end of the day it is what you prefer. I tried both but there were things I couldnt take with the Gigabyte. For my usecase it didnt fit in the end so I switched to the OLED. Only thing I would say is that the FV43U definitely has the best feature set for me it is just a shame that...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

Any photo or video work I would stick to an IPS though the colours were really good on the FV43U however they do fade especially towards the edges due to uniformity issues and of course as it is so big and a VA panel. A 32" IPS might be a better choice. Of course if you are just gaming then yea...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

The uniformity basically killed it for me really. Some of the other reviews out there on this monitor also came to the same conclusions, especially around the corners with a 40% deviation which can be perceived by the naked eye. Shame really so close!

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

It's been a few years now for OLED, sure the risk is there but there are mitigation there. I don't turn off the HUD as I agree with you most games don't work with it. Any modern LCD would probably take longer than 8 years to burn in. RTings test is pretty decent actually as they let it run on...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

Yea there is tech in the tv that is supposed to reduce burn in. The tests on rtings shows that unless you are leaving the screen turned on for 8h daily with the same image over and over, it is unlikely. Plus some colours are more prone to burn in like red. I think it is a personal choice, I...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

Yea I did manage to update the firmware to F04 before I RMAed it. Still felt way too hot for me, could just be cause it was a bigger screen. I could if I put my face next to it feel the heat radiating off it. I was like you to be honest, but while I was contemplating the RMA I read quite a bit...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

I gave it a go Gave up after the weekend, the dimmed corners and yellow tinting decided to return it. Was thinking of ordering a new one but thought I'd check the LG C1 in HarveyNormans and was blown away. Have it for a week now and I can say I'm much happier now. There are obvious cons ie...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

Doesn't seem too bad on yours, I don't mind the other 3 corners they aren't noticeable on mine also but just the bottom left. Same like you basically, a couple of word docs, excel and Jira :D. Shame really. Leaning towards returning it but in two minds if I want to ask for a replacement to give...

Ah so it might just be the panel type then. Yes it doesnt bother me in games and media, fully blown away.
