I had to replace the HD on an HP that is a few years old. I installed Win10 on it, and it is acting weird from time to time. Sometimes it will stop seeing the WIFI adapter. Other times while booting, it gets to the light blue MS logo and freeze up, reboot it and it boots up. I am just thinking...
I am in absolute love with http://www.microcenter.com/product/422086/HAF_XB_EVO_Test_Bench_and_LAN_Box_Computer_Case this case. Keep in mind that it does have a rather large footprint, so if space is not a luxury, this might not be an option for you.
I have repeatedly tried to upgrade my computer to Win10, but it gets to 99% and stops dead in it's tracks. I think I am going to try a reformat and do a clean install. Do you have any Win10 keys or will a Win7 key work??
OK, this just keep getting more and more strange. I decided to go to Windows Update, Microshaft says that I am already using Windows 10, and it needs to be updated. What is strange about that, is that I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I'll let it go to see what happens.
I am running Win7 Ultimate 64 bit on a Biostar MOBO with an AMD Phenom II 965 @3.4 Ghz. with 4 Gb memory and a terabyte HDD that is less than 20% full. When I try to upgrade to Windows 10 usuing Media Creation Tool, the upgrade locks up at "Getting Updates" in fact, I have left this machine run...
I watched this video several times before upgrading my main machine, and followed all of his advise as to how to disable Microshaft's spying and advertising gadgets. This video is a little over a half hour long, but it is time well spent. Now I need to find a way to upgrade my HTPC, because I...

evilsofa, I download the exe fix from that page, and nothing happened even after a restart. I then decided to go to Task Manager and manually force explorer.exe off then relaunched it.....voila........problem resolved. TYVM You were a huge help.
evilsofa, sorry I didn't check in to see your response sooner. I have been really busy with work and other things. I will try to resolve my computer issue ASAP and will respond here to let you know how things went. Thanks again!!!!!
Like the headline reads, after I recently did Windows Update on my computer with Win7 64 bit, I now have the dreaded .lnk problem. I can revert to my last saved restore point, but when I power down, it wants to redo the updates causing the problem all over again. I watched 4 or 5 YouTube...
I am looking for a decent PCI-E video card that will deliver audio over HDMI but for a budget price. I want to put it in my HTPC and use an HDMI cable to provide sound/video to my LCD TV. My HTPC will be a socket 939 4200 (dual core) with 2GB's memory.
100% positive Heatware as "Pagan Wizard"...
