I've never used the actual keyboard they sell but the general consensus is that for the price their keyboard is solid. I got some custom key caps and they were okay at best, but for the flexibility it's definitely an awesome option once they refine or improve the etching.
Word around the block...
I managed to kill three IBM Model M keyboards in the span of 15 years, one of which I was the original owner. I bought a Das Keyboard and love the thing. They keys have a similar feel, although I wish they had a tougher press like the M did...
Makes a huge difference. Numbers aside, it's like an entirely different machine SSD vs HDD.
edit: to be fair, I've never run 7 on a HDD. But when I made the transition from a HDD to an SSD on XP I was absolutely amazed. That SSD was half as fast as the one I'm using now to run 7 on.
Well the two SSDs that I own are both MLC and have made me never want to own a conventional hard drive again
I believe the difference in both cost and longevity is due to the way information is stored in an SLC vs MLC.
For me, I just set my OS up so that it rarely writes to the drive unless I...
This makes me very happy! I looked for something that maybe someone concocted for a 7 RC but couldn't find anything like what you linked, which is what I want!
What does windows 7 offer by way of themes? I'm talking something sexy I can download from Deviant art like I have been doing in XP for years. This is my favorite feature of XP, and not a lot of people know about it. I've had people look at my laptop and say something silly like "Woah I love...
I've been reading about it and it doesn't always persist under every condition (being unplugged and off, etc), so the settings could very easily be reset and then I'd have to somehow get back into windows again.
I've done some searching but have not found a definitive answer to this:
Are there any linux alternatives to the IBM power management center where I can set charging thresholds on my battery profile so it won't charge the battery unless it falls below x%? For instance, you plug it in at 65%...
I own one and after owning nothing but HDDs (never in a raid) I will never go back! I can't wait for price drops, it's amazing how much your performance increases in everything with an SSD. Mine isn't even one of the fastest out either...
Google reader pulling from everywhere I'd like to read, I find that I typically know about things a week or so in advance before they are ever mentioned in conversation at work / with friends so even though the news is old I feel ahead of schedule
OS: Windows XP 64bit
Hardware: Netgear WG311v3
Problem: I am having issues with my XP64 machine and my wireless adapter. I finally found an adapter that worked but as soon as I connect to my router, which has WPA2 running, it BSoDs. It then remembers the credentials to connect to my router...
Krylon Fusion is good paint to use on plastic, however I'm not sure if it comes in a glossy finish.
I would suggest against painting the palm wrest of the laptop, I would imagine the paint would eventually rub off.
Ignoring what OS it's running, having used an R60,T40,T42,X20 and seeing / using my friends macs at PSU (in development oriented class, eg. enterprise application programming) there is nothing I have seen from the Mac camp that would suggest they are in any way superior to a Thinkpad in terms of...
At the time I acquired the machine it wasn't as antiquated as it would be now, what actually brought me to [H] was upgrading FROM that machine. The CPU is far more interesting, I had a thread on here with pics and CPU-Z info which was enough to intrigue a few people to the point where I still...
Because it's not Vista and that's the 64bit license that I have. However, if I can't find drivers for the hardware I buy I will probably have to wait until 7 comes around before I can build this machine.
I've had a G.Skill SSD that I had in my laptop. It's nowhere near the performance of the Intel SSDs but the performance difference between that and the typical hard drive I have always used was unreal. If the price really does drop this next product cycle I might pick up an Intel SSD.
I want...
I am interested in 1680x1050 eventually, I hate wide screen resolutions but I got my mom one for her birthday and I really liked it.
As for cooling I might keep the V8, just because I've always had over the top cooling and most of the reviews I saw for this said it was excellent. My AMD...

I'm sure someone will jump and scream bloody murder at my suggestion but sometimes creating a very high level UML diagram, or even package diagram, can help greatly. By high level I mean don't bother defining every field and method, but rather just objects and their relation to one another...

I clicked the o'keefe room because I knew who she was, and it wanted me to download a *.mov file (I abstain from ever allowing quicktime to exist on my hard drive) so that was kind of a turn off...
not to just trash on quicktime as I always do, but it seems you have a mixture of formats, one...
I'm definitely a supporter of continue; and break; just because of the fact that they are explicit in their intention. You can write code and it can be handed off to 20 different people, and the scope of the project can change, and a value can go from being unsigned to signed... etc which I'm...
Not trying to start a flame way here in any way shape or form but I avoid Quicktime like the plague, and I know many other people who also do, maybe choose another format?
And just by looking at the site for 5 minutes it seems they are just using very obfuscated javascript, which means the post...
Hmm, I'm sorry if I came off as such a slacker. I'm definitely not looking for a "one line fix" here.
I'd like to complete this task without the need for any hardware, as the server has no sound hardware. However, virtualized hardware would be fine.
This is my first time working with sound...
I have it coordinated to read into a fixed size array, there should be no instances where information is sent over that won't fit into this array (best case scenario), although your idea is probably better since it's more flexible, especially when random people try to use something I wrote...
