I have been using the cx for 2 yrs now and indeed bright enough for gaming, and for work you’d dim it down significantly at 90cm distance. I’m selling it - and the 42 inch will come next week. Better size:)
If only they’d launch a crg9 like bend 49” oled… instabuy. I moved from the crg 9 to the...
All is overpriced… i had a z690 formula, 12900k and ddr5 5600cl38 total value 1750 euro. I cancelled it and moved to gigabyte gaming x mobo with existing ddr4 4333cl32 and a 12600k. 500 euro total… and it’ll differ 5 fps at most on my 3080ti at 4k.
Ddr5 tests show it’s useless…
I’ve done my first round of gaming and have some findings on gsync.
pendulum shows stuttering. But in game Hell Let Loose no stuttering whatsoever and no tearing. Everything at epic - framed between 50-100.
Horizon Zero Dawn: no stutter. Frames around 60-80 all max. HDR is amazing. But tearing...
Make sure the hdmi input icon on the cc is set to PC. That will allow pc resolutions. In nvcp resolutions scroll down and select 4k. You can now set it to 120hz and enable hdr.
I have the CX48 with 3.11.26 and a RTX 3080. Running at 4k Full RGB 120hz with HDR. Stuttering is very visible in Pendulum test. No tearing for me tough.
I've tried to update the PAL version. No success. The new version is 03.11.25 - which isn't available on the UK website yet. An older one is thought (03.11.05), one that isn't pushed yet through OTA (latest OTA for me was 03.10.4). I used that to test if the procedure is correct and it worked...
I’m a black junky and vivid colors. Those are just better on oled. And the image is smoother imo. Especially in fast paced games such as doom or cs:go. For slower single player the delta is less - but still there. But it’s probably personal.
I have one. And its amazing. I’m not part of an oled cult. And every display has upsides/downsides. I’ve had a CRG9, x34 and LG38GN950 and its better than all those except for the widescreen/curve imo. So we know things can be better - but that is not available yet.
Maybe a dumb question. Does loading the RTINGS provided ICC profile yield better results than doing nothing? I understand it's reference but i cannot do a calibration myself.
I’ve played about 6 hours. All maxes out at 4k at 60hz. Hit a stable 58fps, no stuttering. Some drops with snow/rain but nothin below 48fps. Feels smooth and fine for this single player game.
2080ti/9900k.
You note the pixel shift blurryness pretty well on some of the patterns on this page:

I tried this yesterday in Hell Let Loose. I was able to get a stable 115 FPS now with higher settings. Including viewing distance and clarity SMAA which actually benefits gameplay when shooting people over large distances. I actually prefer this over 4k.
LG states on their product page:
**Supports up to 40Gbps bandwidth, allowing up to 4K 120Hz 4:4:4 @ 10 bits per component.
So i assume it's rounded down from 40.1Gbps. Still i wasn't able to get ycbcr444.
Well it doesn't work (i tested it, see my post ealier). I also got a response from Club3d:
"Which means you can do 4K120Hz at 8Bits when you want to do full 444"
Full RGB did work btw...
I used one. See my post earlier. Remember that the CX48 also doesn't support DSC. Also - my biggest problem was the constant signal loss having to pull power from the adapter to get it back. I've also bought a new 50$ HDMI2.1 cable (1.5m) to make sure that wasn't causing the problem. Same...
