Crystalmark for the WD120EMAZ 12TB received in mine shows the same read speed as the WD Red which confirms suspicions and shows its not SMR Saumsung benchmark shows: Sequential Read 200 MB/s Sequential Write 199 MB/s Random Read 408 IOPS Random Write 1708 IOPS
