My brother is looking for a computer to do some video editing with, mostly drone footage from his Mavic 2 Pro so 4K 10 bit footage. He doesn't intend on playing any games which makes it difficult to find a system I would recommend, I was thinking of Ryzen 7 3700X 16GB RAM and minimum 256GB SSD...
I have been running F@H and when running with mostly stock settings except upping RAM to 3800MHz and Fabric Clock to 1900MHz I am getting temps in the upper 80C to just touching 90C range when my H115i Platinum is running with fans at 100% and pump at 100%, this seems like it is higher than it...
Running a Ryzen 9 3900X with basically standard settings except for RAM and Infinity Fabric as I am boosting that to 1,900mhz/3,800MTs. I have an Asus Crosshair VIII Hero. I ran MemTest overnight with no issues but when running Prime95 stress tests I get errors on some workers, not all.

Newegg received my card yesterday, they didn't have any in stock so they refunded me. Now to see which card between the Gigabyte and Sapphire comes in stock first.
My 5700XT Challenger is on its way to Newegg, won't get there until next Wednesday and then they say 2-4 days before they ship a replacement, and they probably will still be out of stock even then. Wondering what they do if the card is out of stock, do they make you wait or offer a refund?
OK, reading that is telling me it was the card as there are people using 5700XT with DVI just fine using converters. Both HDMI and DP to DVI work on my other card to this monitor so it has to be the card.
I am using an old Acer S211HLbd monitor from 2011, it only has VGA and DVI inputs, I bought a new video card and of course it only has HDMI and Display Port outputs, I have display port to DVI and HDMI to DVI adapters that I tried with the new 5700XT but couldn't get a signal either way in...
Can always bring up lemon law and the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuson–Moss_Warranty_Act both of which absolutely apply here. Could also try contact your credit card company and see what happens.
I received my ASRock Challenger today, DOA, not happy. Tried in two PCs and nothing, fans never spun and no display on the monitor. I am using an old Acer S211 https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16824009342 which only has VGA and DVI but I bought a DisplayPort to DVI adapter cable and that is working...
Didn't feel like spending that much extra on a card that realistically can only be overclocked a very small amount so I went ASRock. I prefer the aesthetics of the Sapphire Pulse but figured for the same price the slight OC on the ASRock was nice. I originally wanted the Gigabyte as my last card...
I have a Gigabyte Windforce HD 6950 from 2011 that has been running basically 24/7 in that time frame, have had literally 0 issues with it, I have no problem with Gigabyte.
It was an error, I trusted the motherboard OC utility which boosted the CPU to 4.1GHz and not sure what voltage and my Corsair H115i RGB PLATINUM was not setup to ramp up correctly.
I was able to sneak in on one of Newegg's short windows and get it. Built the PC last night but was too late to fire it up and install Windows, will be trying that tonight.
So I read the instructions and tried to do the 3mm pea then showing it method, this didn't even come close to covering my Ryzen 9 3900X, had to add like two more peas to get it to spread and cover the entire CPU. Did I use way too much? Does the 3mm pea and just applying the cooler still work...
That's what I'm thinking, and from everything I've read the 3200 CL14 B die will hit 3600 no problem and have even seen people say 3800 isn't unrealistic if you give it some voltage.
I am down to three kits, which would you choose?

So, there's really no bad X570 boards above $200 from what I am hearing and seeing people recommend, just need to go with the features you want. Still thinking the Crosshair VIII Hero unless the Gigabyte is really better.
Who generally has had the best BIOS support and overclocking lately, especially for memory? I think that will help more than what price level to go with.
OK, I am going to go with a 3200 CL14 B Die kit, G. Skill has the Ripjaws V and Trident Z which is $9 more than the Ripjaws, any reason to get the Trident Z over the Ripjaws? Only difference is the look? Just wondering.
That video just made me more indecisive. Lot's of good looking boards out there. If I were to go with the $360 level is there really no bad choice?
Is the VRM on the Aorus Elite good enough for overclocking?
Is the Taichi a good middle ground at $299?
Sigh, I hate being this indecisive.
