I don't know if Direct Storage is running, but for a game of this scale, it's extremely fast loading; like 5 seconds from launching from Windows to actually moving Aloy around.
Sins of Solar Empire 2 is looking and playing real good if you haven't check that out. A modern evolution and improvements on the old formula. The engine alone is amazing in the kind performance it delivers. If we're in luck, and I'm pretty sure we will be, we're gonna get the same kind of...
This smells a lot like the plug was pulled on financing the game development by Embracer and revenue needs to start coming in, no matter the current state of the game. With a publisher that keeps supporting their game for a long time after release that wouldn't be such a big deal, but in the...
I tried to play with a couple of settings and I think I managed to find a camera setup that feels a bit more intuitive:
1. Enable NLIPS to OFF in Game
2. Camera translation is always active to ON in Camera
3. Camera translation sensitivity to 1.0 in Camera
4. Camera rotation sensitivity to 0.5...
There's a certain fear creeping in that we may be witnessing the legacy of Starfield loading screen simulator spoiling the devs of other games to take the easy way out...
Not at all! Just watching the video normally you can clearly see it between 0:25-0:40. Look at 0:27 for example, on the left. But if you don't see it then you are blessed!! Better not see it and enjoy it :) This is the kind of things you cannot unsee when you start seeing it though.
In the first video you can clearly see the ghosting when you're shooting and moving left-right at the 0:25-0:30 mark. Lots of vertical "gray" lines showing up all over when you're moving.
ChadD I like your thinking on this. I'm wondering though, is this something NVIDIA could change with DLSS if they wanted too ? Could they turn it into an industry standard at this point or is it too late for that ?
Now that's interesting!! I'm really glad you went ahead and tried it out :)
I got a 5950X myself with SMT disabled and an all-core OC which significantly increase L3 cache memory bandwidth. I'm looking forward to see how much FPS I'll be able to pull with these tweaks.
Following your train of thought, these results seems to show that Nvidia did not optimize their drivers yet for Starfield (considering Nvidia track record, in a conspirationnal way, this could suggest they did that on purpose to make an AMD sponsored game look bad for most GPU owners). AMD...
That's the key right here. An all core OC can do a lot to unshackle the cache on the vanilla versions. It'd be a much more interesting comparison if both CPU could be compared at their optimal/maximum settings.
As always, the difficulty will be in how to economically synthesize these and integrate them for use. I suspect an army of graduate students will be given projects to simulate any and all kind of possible room temperature superconductors in the coming weeks/years, as well as experimental...
Just wondering, after season 1 started, did you log on your main character at least once before making your season toon ? I think that was a requirement to actually get all the progression to apply to your season toon. (I haven't done it myself so I can't verify)
Perso I'm not starting over. Once I'm at max level, I'm waiting for the next expansion to continue the story with my current character. There's a limit at how much fun can be extracted from gear hunting and Paragon board progression; can't see myself doing that again from scratch on a new...
Yup, here's one of the thread in question: https://hardforum.com/threads/anyone-upgraded-from-5900x-to-5800x3d-for-gaming.2022818/page-6#post-1045681605
Been running my 5950X like this for a while and it works really well.
It's a great monitor! I use it exclusively as a content consumption and gaming monitor along side two IPS monitors. That's probably the best setup for OLED longevity. If you can find a good deal along side Rakuten, it's worth it.
That's good to know. So Windows calibrated for 0, 1010, 1010 should give you the best result when running it in HDR1000 ? With what or how are you testing the clipping ?
Perso, I only run it in HDR1000 when not in SDR, so that shouldn't be too much of an issue for those who run it like that...
I've been trying to figure out the best settings for that all-cores OC 24/7 and here's what I figured out so far. Reading around the web and observing the various parameter in HWiNFO, it seems like it's better to have higher vcore along side low LLC levels. I'm mentally set to not go over 1.35V...
Thx III_Slyflyer_III for sharing all of this. You gave me a couple of ideas that really helped me get my system where I needed.
Following your lead, I've been playing with an all-cores OC on my 5950x, trying to optimize for efficiency mostly since I'll need it to do long simulations that can...
