AMD pushes back on Tiger Lake with Cezanne mobile CPUs

Despite being another Zen 2 CPU, the new 5500u looks like a bargain champ and much more available than it's spiritual predecessor, the 4600u. HUB purchased the tested laptop for just $500. Perfect for kid's school or a spouse.

AMD pushes back on Tiger Lake with Cezanne mobile CPUs

Not exactly in the spirit of the title, but the Zen 2 equipped 5700u makes an appearance which is essentially a rebadged 4800u. Although not as fast as the newer Zen 3 cpus, I would still rather have this 8/16 cpu over a 4/8 TGL which is the limit for Intel i. the ultra portable lineup...

    The Awesome Fantastic 5600g Thread

Well it took Intel like 6 generations to upgrade their igpu with 11th gen evo, so not sure if they will change alot with just 1 generation. That said, ddr5 should help both ADL and future AMD cpus, though you will have to wait a bit longer for those as it looks like they scrapped Zen 3+.

High Cache "Zen 3+": Last stand for AM4 and Broadwell succesor.

Saw some rumors that Zen3+ was canceled but nothing confirmed. If that is the case AMD will be taking a back seat for a while as Intel's upcoming ADL is looking rather strong. Really would have like to see this new cpu in an am4+ platform running triple channel ddr4, ie bandwidth of ddr5...

AMD pushes back on Tiger Lake with Cezanne mobile CPUs

I can't get over the fact that the 4 core 11370H is an 'i7' while the 6 core 11400H is an 'i5'. Clown world.

AMD pushes back on Tiger Lake with Cezanne mobile CPUs

Gotta give credit where credit is due. The 11400H is basically neck and neck with the 5600H: Impressive that it trades blows with the last gen 8 core part: Midrange laptop buyers really have a great cpu regardless of which company you favor.

TPU AMD RX 6600 XT Review

I know this is the "new normal" but how can anyone get excited about a product that costs as much as a 5700xt and in some cases a worse product. The 128 bit bus just doesn't cut it, even with the infinity fabric. Perhaps if it was 64 MB of cache instead of 32 GB, it would be better off in...

    The Awesome Fantastic 5600g Thread

This looks to be a rather good setup for emulation. Given the current state of GPU prices, the best most thrifty gamers could likely do is pick up this for their main pc and use it for emulation/esports/ older titles then pick up a Series X or PS5 for eye candy granted you do not have a...

    The Awesome Fantastic 5600g Thread

It looks like it would only make about 5% difference and some of that may be from the higher boost clocks of the 5700g. My 2400g was a Vega 11 and these beat it by a good margin.

    The Awesome Fantastic 5600g Thread

For pure framerate/$, there is definitely better options. If that is your sole concern, this is surely not your product. There are still others reasons to get the APU: - ultra compact and neat builds - less parts usually means less driver issues - Very low power / heat / noise - Fun factor...

    The Awesome Fantastic 5600g Thread

Burnt out on politics and the world in general so I just wanted to geek out on hardware. Enter the AMD 5600g 6 core Zen 3 based APU. This processor has wide appeal from budget gamers to compact HTPC buyers looking for low power consumption and all the way to enthusiasts as these APUs are a...

    Xbox Series S

New Halo is looking impressive on Series S as previewed by DF: Surprisingly, Series S ran the best of all the consoles as it held 120 fps very well hanging around 720p and sometimes scaling below. The Series X had alot more jitters, though it was pushing 4 times as many pixels. At 60 fps...

Ripping DVD's in Linux to play on my Series S off the external HDD

SD is fine for kids movies and some older titles. I am yet to bump up to 4k for several reasons: - No 4k titles at library to rip which is where I go. - Some of our tvs are still only 1080p anyhow - High quality blu ray rips still look damn good. - Still using h264 to ensure compatibility...

Xbox Series S was available all day on 7/23 must have had a ton of stock come in (old post locked)

To each their own, but the Series S has been the best console I have owned having gone back to the NES. Much of this has to do with the unlimited software when paired with Gamepass Ultimate at $180 for 3 years. It's low power so cooler and quieter than most I've owned. Graphics are more than...

Xbox Series S was available all day on 7/23 must have had a ton of stock come in (old post locked)

Visual Fidelity is really the only place where the One X beats the Series S. With the Series S you get: - Way faster loading times. - Much better frame rate albeit a lower resolution. - Much lower power consumption. Not a big deal for all but it has been great in our camper where power is...

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (PS5)

Ah I didn't know it worked like that. I figured it would still refresh every 3 frames on a 120 hz display even if the console wasn't able to push 120hz.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (PS5)

40 fps seems like a pretty good deal. Frame time splits right between 30 and 60 fps while lag seems closer to that of 60 fps. As mentioned, it could be really useful on Series S where games typically are between an muddy 1080p 60 fps or a slow 1440p 30 fps. Developers might be able to get...

FidelityFX looks to be coming to Series X|S. This advanced upscaling would work great for Series S owners using 4k TV. No word on Sonys console yet. I can't imagine it would be too hard for them to implement as well, then again, they still don't have Freesync on their new console.

AMD pushes back on Tiger Lake with Cezanne mobile CPUs

The mainstream 5600H reviewed here: The new 6 core Cezanne OUTMATCHES the 6 core CML-H, though the upcoming 6 core TGL-H should match up well. That said, the yet to be released mainstream 5600u will have no equal as Intel will not have anything past 4 cores in the 15w segment.

    Xbox series X

Where are you getting this exactly? Are you claiming that Far Cry 5, which runs a solid 30 fps 4k with enhancements on the One X needs to drop its image quality on the Series X just to reach 60 fps??
  35. N

    Xbox series X

Is that just mostly for 120 fps capable games? I can't imagine that Series X needs to drop settings going from 30 fps of the One X to 60 fps on the Series X given the dame resolution. It would make sense if is going up to 120 fps from an original 30 fps or an unstable 60 fps on the one X.

AMD pushes back on Tiger Lake with Cezanne mobile CPUs

The Intel i7-11370H CPU. This CPU deserves its own meme. With 4 cores (despite being named an i7!) it loses in most tests against the last gen 6 and 8 core CML-H parts to include gaming - and sometimes by a very large margin. The 5600H will demolish this CPU as well. ASUS was the only laptop...

    Best Mainstream CPU for $200-$250

Intel has been really tough in the mid range lately. As for power consumption, having extra cores has a huge power savings on itself. For MC, you would need to run a 5300g at 4.5 ghz to get similar performance as you could with 11400 at 3 ghz (estimated based on core count). At those...
