My build so far 1700@stock, Ripjaws 3600@3200 stable, Gigabyte AB350N. Cooled with T318 with Noctua's A12x15.
So.. The Gigabyte board. I'm ok with RAM running @ 3200. Due to horrible voltage controll, I didn't manage to get anywhere with OCing the 1700. It runs stable @ stock, temps under load...
No. You get more PCI lanes with x370 which means generally more PCIE slots for SLI/Crossfire or other PCIE devices, more USB ports. You cannot utilise any of those on Mini ITX boards. So unless there are any differences in UEFI there is no reason to go for x370.
Having said that, I'll propably...
If anyone is interested there are some german and austrian store listings for Gigabyte's and Asrock's AM4 MiniITX offerings.
ASRock Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming-ITX/ac ~120€
ASRock Fatal1ty X370 Gaming-ITX/ac ~160€
Gigabyte GA-AB350N-Gaming WIFI ~300€ (sic!)
And the only difference between the two (aside from chipset) is that x370 suports higher bandwith on wireless (433 vs. 867 Mbps) which is where the extra PCIE lanes went, I guess. 45$ worth? I dont' think so..
Happy to report, that my white Sentry made it in one piece through the long and arduous journey of a bit over 100 km. Good job with the foam inserts - not a scratch on the inner box. Now I'm just waiting for the rest of the hardware, thankfully as I can se my motherboard has just been announced.
