You could of taken the picture instead. That is a defect, mine doesn't have it at all, and I wouldn't be spreading the misinformation how this is inherited into the display. You are not the only one with the monitor, you could of asked around.
looking at the 32 inch G7 straight on, it is not bad at all, This is my first curved gaming screen, i really thought I was gonna hate it, I rly like this monitor, it feels like you gaming on a CRT with deep blacks, laser like colors, and perfect motion clarity, brings back memories.
Its HDR on Windows, who cares, is it only emulating the real HDR.
Care for HDR on TV's with their custom made processors and movies that are made for it.
For the next Xbox I will treat my self with a nice 75 inch OLED next year, the way its meant to be played. I never liked consoles hooked up to PC monitors, or PC's hooked up to TV's, but thx for the link anyway, never heard of that Philips.
We don't know what next-gen AMD and Nvidia GPU's have yet so let's just wait and see, I know HDMI 2.1 will be there, but so what though, I haven't seen a single announced PC monitor with HDMI2.1 coming out in the future.
is this his first LCD monitor? how does someone attempt to lift any display by putting all the force and pressure on the screen.
mount the stand first and then lift it up using the stand.
Imagine you were me, going to BB, pick up one of these things and while installing it you are wondering if its just another VA panel or if the news you read about it from people across the world is true.
Once i fired BF5 in HDR at 240hz, it was like BAAAAAAAAAAAAAM, there ain't coming back to...
In the comments section someone posted why he showed contrast ratio only after the calibration and not out of the box, interesting. It is known that contrast ratio drops a lot on some monitors after the calibration.
I been trying to convince people like how good my G7 is and the feedbacks were like from Vega's, bu bu bu bu its just another VA panel, bu bu bu its just some crappy VA panel from last model bla bla bla.
I hope this video stops him trolling something he doesn't own.
You can have a VA monitor where you cant see any black smearing, but it can still be picked up with an instrument. Example, them new LG monitors, they are extremely fast, i wasn't able to see any ghosting when i tested one at Microcenter, but instruments still picked up 3-4ms. But i say so what...
This is about G7 Odyssey, not RG50, and nobody here said that you wouldn't see it, I tested the RG50 monitor my self, black smearing was clearly visible.
The G7 that I have right now has no visible black smearing.
instruments will always will pick up LCD drawbacks, ain't that the case for every display? lol
I see no perceivable black smearing on my G7 like with previous VA panels I used, smearing was clearly visible to the naked eye but on this one.
Nobody here is saying that instruments that measure...
so lets say it ends up being slower than the fastest TN or IPS by a small margin, the monitor sucks, right?
and nobody here is saying it is a magic VA, except you, you are hyping it to that degree, for your own amusement down the road.
what you are saying is different than what he is saying, he's purposely posting false information, i looked at his history, he's been here for a while and knows things, so he's not dumb to post wrong info.
I can care less what brand monitor it is, or if its va, ips, tn, oled. I bought this...
i have the G7 32inch, best gaming monitor out today IMO.
Just turn the Gsync off and let the monitor always stay at 240hz, i play the new COD game without gsync, a crappy port, getting avg around 125fps and yet the game feels extremely smooth and fast, no ghosting, smearing, and other known VA...
That is a total different panel from last year, that one is advertised with 4ms, this years G7 and G9 from the Odyssey lineup is 1ms, complete different panel, stop trolling.
Have you even done some reading on G7 and G9, plenty of videos on youtube and articles, at 240hz it is incredibly fast...
i have the 32 inch G7, gaming at 240hz has like no ghosting at all, its like CRT, no black smearing at all, or inverse ghosting. When i fired VRR with my older games to run 240fps with 240hz it was even more incredible, got motion sickness.
top chart is from the latest panel used in the Odyssey...
updated version of the same panel? whaaaat? hahah, that can be said for every new monitor that came out since the birth of LCD's.
one has terrible smearing, the new one has none, one has bad ghosting, the new one is nearly CRT like at 240hz, one has the highest ms in 30's, the new one is in...
there is no such thing updated version of the same VA panel.
Is LG's new $1600 IPS display with just 820:1 contrast ratio update over my 6 years old IPS LG with 1250 contrast ratio.
we talking about going from 100hz to 240hz, just an updated version of the same panel? ahhaha, i can say that...
it can pull off 600 nits still in HDR, with a little over 6000:1 contrast ratio, people who actually own the monitor reported that HDR is amazing still, stop trolling.
IPS is for color matching for prints, imo they dont belong in gaming and movies sector. Best tv's out today are based on VA panel from Samsung, Sony, etc.... That Samsung G7 with VA panel has faster pixel response than most IPS panels out today, 4000:1 contrast ratio, inky blacks, zero smearing...
