Agreed, IMO the best you can do when you have adequate cooling is to lap both surfaces and apply thermal paste with a straight edge(both surfaces). Tighten as much as is safe.
I wouldn't go that far. The cheapest AIO's can't handle extended loads as well as towers. The liquid eventually heats up. It all boils down to airflow vs surface area. A tiny radiator is a tiny radiator.
You are mistaking timings with total DDR4 latency. You just don't get it. Am I going to have to go over it all again here because you forget yesterday when you fall asleep?
Here look at some values for memory latency(That's total latency BTW). That was the figure that has you up in arms. It is...
You still going on about the perfectly normal latency being slow? And the Memory issue is a Bios issue.
We squashed those over at AT yesterday...you were in the middle of it.
That latency was the same you would get on an intel platform with those timings.
DDR 2133 CL16 is ~70ns. On Intel or...
I see it as a good thing either way. If it's true then I'm glad it came to light. If not then I am glad attention is being brought to the possibility that it could happen..might give Intel cold feet about pursuing such tactics.
When every cell phone is a recording device all it would take is one AMD fan to expose Intel if they resort to monopolistic practices.
I don't see it happening this time around. All the companies that are relevant know by now that Ryzen is going to be huge. They want their piece of the pie...
Doesn't matter when everything is moving toward multithreading. Even a Ryzen 1400X 4C/8T probably gives Intel quads a run for their money in MT, while being adequate in ST.
3600 has been validated
And I doubt all the motherboard manufacturers would allow 4000+ on their motherboards if the CPU was not able to support it through overclocking. Gskill 3200 CL14 should be plenty fast.
The whole point in using Ryzen over Zen is to bypass all the zen related crap a search would have to compete with.
Instead of digging through pages of unrelated zen crap we type in Ryzen and get nothing but great search results.
Just take a look at the zen disambiguation to see what a colossal...
XFR has been explicitly stated to be automatic overclocking/underclocking of frequency, and power for the entire chip. Weather or not that is on a per core basis is up in the air.
I think we will see significant leaks within the week. All our OC questions should be answered relatively soon.
I would assume AMD is putting a lot of work into a monster APU since the work parallels what Sony, and MS want for their next consoles. If PS4, and XB1 has shown AMD anything it's that they can make quite a lot of money by keeping the console market happy. Could possibly have HBM for PC market...
I'm trying to finish my 4.5ghz of crow..
Well if Intel does a fire sale there will be a hell of alot of pissed off people. Not a good place for Intel market wise.
What I did find is the ES were supposedly CAS locked. Zero OC allowed. The supposed LN-OC 7ghz leak that happened might be legit.
Can't seem to find them, but I still stick by my assumptions. I am seeing a lot of reviewers claiming great clocks though.
AMD can't jump the gun or intel will have a fire sale...and that means many less Ryzen's sold.
I may have all my wires crossed on the 4.5 ghz. The only one I can find is...
We are talking about weather or not Ryzen overclocks well. If it doesn't then in that context it would be a bad process.
Follow Reddit, or the Semiaccurate thread, or the Ananandtech thread. They all have posted those. It seems that you are arguing without doing due diligence.
My POS Asrock...
You didn't contradict anything I said, or offer any relevant arguments in your favor.
Yes coolers matter, that's why they make them. Sure a bad process will still be a bad process..but there is no evidence that Ryzen will not OC well.
I really don't care about confirmation at this stage. There...
The newer coolers are signifigantly better than what I have.
1100T is a 125W part stock, Ryzen is 95W stock.
1100T stock 3.3ghz no turbo. Ryzen 3.4ghz stock/4ghz turbo.
I don't think that with a better air cooler than what I have that 4.5+ on air is out of the ballpark. And yes I know they...
If I can hit 4ghz on my Phenom II X6 on air at 160W with a Xigmatek gaia with 2 fans then 4.2 is way low. We can expect much higher from the latest high end air coolers.
The last thing AMD wants to do is scare the crap out of Intel and make them flush all their inventory before Ryzen is launched.
