Oh cool, don't worry about it then! No need to dig it up if it wasn't sitting around on your hard drive or something. It sure did look nice-- bummer it didn't enhance cooling too much. Thanks for closing the loop! And man, that fan recolor looks amazing with your build

Hey man, seeing your username talking about your cooler reminded me-- do you still use the 3d printed velocity stack you shared here: https://hardforum.com/threads/sentry-console-sized-gaming-pc-case-project.1832126/page-141#post-1043433611 If so, do you still have the project file you'd be...

Well put! I guess my main thought is that I'm hitting 100% utilization on my 1080 FE right now when I thought I'd have a little more headroom when running Overwatch Ultra capped at 150FPS. I think the next order of business is to finally sit down and figure out if undervolting will get me back...

I ran a few searches in thread and was curious if anyone has more recent experience with running a non-blower GPU in their Sentry. I'm strongly considering jumping on a decent deal to trade out my 1080 Founders Edition for a 1080Ti SC Black (I've got 1440P @ 144Hz in my sights short-term).

Welp, that was it. BIOS fan settings to the "Silent" preset on my mobo and we're down to silent running on the CPU side. Temps are still great under my gaming load, so all is well. Now to get some weatherstripping for the ol' Founders Edition fan intake!

Thank you both for your input! I'm new to SFF, so was surprised that my CPU fan was this much louder than the old cooler in my way bigger mATX case. I wasn't sure if I was just hearing it more now that the fan is so close to the case wall, but I am definitely going to take a look in BIOS since...

So, uh, I'm getting worried that my CPU fan is a little loud. I've got my LP53 + NF-A9x14 and at idle I'm seeing ~1800RPM (CPU temp ~32*C). I thought folks said that the NF-A9x14 was super duper quiet. Am I just overly sensitive?

Oh no, why'd you give me the idea... Anyone know if the iGPU on a 7700K can handle Overwatch at any quality settings for at least 144FPS? :P

ZeroPucks and other builders out there who might also be interested in how LP53 cooler fits on ASRock ITX motherboards, MrNateTheGreat is awesome and replied to a PM with very interesting follow-up on his build log photos that showed the LP53 with fins parallel to RAM on his ASRock Z170 Fatal1ty...

Yeah, it's formatted kinda oddly. That link goes to a new site that is something else he's working on, but IIRC it's entirely out of the PC hardware space. I just copied the text in case anyone else is curious: This is just a note to let you know that I unfortunately have to take a little break...

I ended up going with custom cabling from an [H] member who I believe was active in this thread earlier. He is based in the US which was attractive to me over Cablemods. I think I was his last cabling customer though, since his site now has a little pop-up about being on hiatus...

...Oh my gosh wow. How I somehow thought they were physically different in size is beyond me. Thanks for correcting my misinformation...! Verified though that the stick cables at least on my SF450 we're damn near unusable in terms of cable management. I ended up getting custom ones.

I've only looked at Intel, and can tell you that the 8700K runs hot. Apparently even hotter than the 7700K that I've got in my build. A popular mod here and with other SFF cases was the take the excellent quality all-copper heatsink from a Cooltek / Thermolab LP53 and attach a Noctua NF-A9x14...

I remember following along past discussion with anxiety regarding RAM heights. I found this from SaperPL himself about max height without HDD bracket being ~51mm. G.Skill purports that the Flare X set is 40mm tall so I think you're in good shape-- assuming there are not tricky overhang/clearance...

Fantastic, I appreciate you sharing your experience with CPU-side stuff. I'll hopefully get to tinker a bit over the next couple of weekends. I hope I'll be able to share something back with you re: GPU-side tweaks :D

Ha! I 100% found your SFFF post that linked back to that post during my rabbithole searching :D I appreciate your thoughts and recall on this question very much! Looks like I've some mobo replacement to ponder now

Cool man, thanks for the pics of your previous setup! I played around with the orientation a bunch but it looks like the spacing is indeed different on the z270 layout, and I don't think it has to do with my RAM (Vengeance LPX) being chunky or anything: IIRC I saw one other poster talking...

niclas90 Finally got to put my machine through some gaming, and the results are indeed better than I expected! Per HWMonitor: ~40 minutes of PUBG @ Ultra settings --> 79*C max package temperature ~30 minutes of CSGO @ whatever max is FPS uncapped --> INSANE 92*C or something Capped at 200FPS...

Amazing feedback, man. I finally built in my Sentry this weekend and was thinking both about the dust factor as well as my CPU, also an i7-7700K so your post is perfectly timed for me :] Re: Dust I wasn't crazy about attaching my Silverstone 120mm filters on the inside of the case, and thought...

Holy moly those feet look great and are going to match up so nicely with your power switch. I'm going small for now and just got a plain old black switch with a white ring LED instead to go with my white Sentry. I think I've got everything except my PSU now, and am glad to read that cases are...

Sorry to dig up an ancient post, but I've got a quick question about the vandal switch. Is the motherboard wiring soldered to the switch itself, or are you guys using removable spade connectors? I want to replace with a black switch + white LED and am wondering if I need to buy a new set of...

Good looking build! I'm in a similar boat, with an i7-7700 on the way paired with NH-L9i on an ASRock Z270m ITX AC (not the Fatal1ty branded) and I've got a question for you (and everyone else of course!): Why did you decide to go for a Z270 and a non-K CPU? Was it just TDP rating and our...

Totally understood about all of the complexities of managing not just the queue of actual stock to be produced, but also people's expectations! BTW, great work on building a product that even got my lurking ass onto [H] and this thread. I've been reading back and what a labor of hardware love...

I saw in earlier posts you mentioned that managing "stock" on IndieGoGo is trickier than you would think, but do you think it's possible to work out reallocation of the double-pack "stock" into single-item sales? I'm like dtagirov and missed out on the white case. If he were at least in the same...
