I'm getting 940 mbps up and down on a wired connection with ATT fiber and an Asus AC68 with merlin firmware. I then connect an Orbi in AP mode to the Asus for wireless.
I think I found an ideal solution for ATT fiber to get maximum performance.
My ATT gateway has all wireless and networking/firewall features turned off. I then have it connected to an Asus AC68 router using passthrough mode on the ATT gateway. This bypasses the ATT gateway router features which...
The TV might very well be fine. I had something similar happen a couple times with a higher end KS8500 and when I switched HDMI cables to a monoprice certified HDMI 2 cable it didn't happen again. Could be a video driver issue as well. Around the same time I changed cables I installed an NVIDIA...
If you have EPP through work the 40" 6300 is $285 at Samsung. If you have a Discover card you can get 10% back and if you have Discover double cashback (1st year of owning Discover card) you get 20% cashback which could drop price to $256 or $228 + tax.
The open box excellent are in stock right now for $259. I had bought a new one because open box were out of stock but just bought an open box a few minutes ago.
$259 - $25/$250 Amex BB - 3% cashback (click through site) = $227 + tax.
This should work.

Apparently the same panel as the 6300 minus bluetooth. Does chroma 4:4:4 over HDMI. Input lag for gaming...

Not sure why either. Maybe it's how the results are being interpreted. When I ran the test on the Omen I saw what looked like stuttering/ghosting which made the single line look like multiple lines and there were gaps of space between the lines.
With the Samsung KS8500 I'm using now there is...
I had the brightness set high but don't recall the exact setting. I noticed a major difference between the Omen and a Korean 27" monitor I have. When I would use the Omen my eyes would start to fatigue and feel tired after a couple hours of use but not with the Korean monitor which I think has a...
No, not the size of the screen but the PWM flickering of the Omen was problematic for me. When the PWM (pulse width modulation) of a monitor runs at too low of a frequency it causes eye fatigue and headaches for many people. Info here...
I ended up returning my HP Omen due to some eye fatigue issues when using it and in retrospect I'm glad I did. I'm only a very casual gamer so the freesync feature was not a big deal to me.
Not necessarily comparable but if you multitask a lot the prices of large 4K screens are starting to drop...
There are some insane deals at Samsung EPP if you have a Discover card and even crazier if you have a new Discover card (1st year) with double cashback.
The 49" KS8000 (great for monitor use) is $674 and with 10% Discover double cashback (so 20% cashback in total) price is $539.
65" is $1079...
The 6300 is now $335 at Samsung EPP. If you have Discover you can get 10% back and if you have double cashback with Discover (new cardholders for first year) it's 20%. Drops price to $268+ tax for the 6300 if you have EPP and 20% cashback.
Do you mind posting your KS8500 calibration settings? I'm thinking PC, movies and sports might all have different optimal settings.
Are you using a 6ft HDMI cable? Looks like the length of the HDMI cable was possibly causing the blackout problem. I was using a 10ft HDMI cable and when I...
I just received the 49KS8500 and it's very nice. Really glad I got the 49" and not a 40-43" model. I thought it might be too big when I ordered but it's not. I also bought the mount you recommended which works well. I'm never going to be able to go back to a smaller monitor now. Happy I bought...
Having a very frustrating time with a Gigabyte Z170 UD5 TH board that supports 4k at 60Hz via HDMI 2.0. I have the correct high speed HDMI 2.0 cable and HDMI 2.0 on the monitor. I have tried more than one HDMI 2.0 cable and every few minutes the screen goes black for a few seconds.
I saw...
Thanks. Hoping to use the 49KS8500 as a monitor. How is the glare for light reflections in the room? I was reading on RTINGS that the glare is reduced from 2015 models by about 40%. Is there a noticeable anti-glare coating? Do you notice any issues with PWM and tired eyes/eye strain if you use...
