Well said. A $165 1050ti is idiotic and should have received a Bronze award if that.
Whoever is considering this 1050ti, you can get a 3GB 1060 for the exact same price at Newegg.
MSI GeForce GTX 1060 DirectX 12 GTX 1060 GAMING X 3G 3GB 192-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready ATX Video...
That's my point, why?
Newegg has several 4GB overclocked RX460's for less than $120.

Here is just one example of a 4GB overclocked RX 470 for only $169.........just a $5 difference than the 1050ti they used in the...
$164.99 for a 1050ti is beyond dumb. Gold Award for that price when an RX 470 will mop the floor with it.
Sorry, but comparing this overpriced 1050ti to a doorstop 460 was lame......
99% of your video card reviews/comparisons are great, this one falls into that 1% crap bucket.
I would even settle for it to be within 20% of Intel if it is 60% of the price. Either way, it will have twice as many cores as the 7700 so that will be a bonus.
Great review as always. It's always nice to have more choices in the PSU market, and Gigabyte has a solid reputation as well.
On a side note, with SLI/xFire fizzling out, are the days of 1000watt+ PSU's numbered?
I've been told by female friends that most gamers they have dated have small 'packages' and are terrible in bed. Can any hardcore gamers here confirm that?
Should Zen be compared against Skylake/Kaby Lake or Broadwell? Based solely on the number of cores/threads, Broadwell should be its direct competitor, right?
Really dude, quoting yourself? I hate blocking people but you hitting this thread pretty hard. Seriously man, it's just too much, try getting a hobby or something.
Back on topic, looks like I'm going to avoid Asus 480 options. Weird how they seem to make solid nVidia cards though......
Agree, if top tier AIB 480's can't reach at least 1400 consistently, long term sales of this card will suffer. Tbh, I was actually hoping to see some 1550-1600 oc's but now have my doubts.
And to add to that, nVidia could technically enable SLI on the 1060 via a driver update. AMD has been doing this with Crossfire for years now, no bridges needed.
Just to make sure, this is [H]ardOCP, right? Since when do we give two shits about what OEM's like Dell do with their shitty rigs!? Dah fuq is going on here....................
Be honest, you are legitimately concerned about the impact of room temperature between a 120w card and a 150w card? And anyone that would need a bigger PSU to power a mighty 150w card over a 120w card has bigger issues to deal with.
These excuses are getting comical..............
Percentage wise yes, but as others have already calculated earlier in this thread the yearly savings, assuming 40 hours weekly of game-play, would equate to around $7 yearly.
There is no longer a real-world efficiency advantage between these two. 120w vs 150w is the difference of a typical...
It's a tough decision, go with the 1060 for higher fps with most of your current library of games, or save $20-$30+ with a 480 and get higher fps with some of your current library of games and most likely a majority of new 2016/2017 releases.
I'm still on the fence between the two. My deciding...
In comparison to DX11 that is a true statement, but relative to the 480's DX12 performance improvement, not so much.
Bottom line is if you only want to continue to play your current library of games and don't care about the new DX12 games coming soon, then the 1060 is definitely the better...
