    Total War: Rome 2

It may be worth a shot, personally....the flaws run so deep that no amount of patching will fix it. Not having a family tree really is a deal breaker for me. I simply don't care about my generals/nation, feel detached.

Anyone get older and have a hard time letting go?

Its like an old relationship, sometimes its best to just keep it in your memories, always sweeter that way.

    No Fallout 4 @ E3

Im just glad they did a Elder Scrolls MMO instead of a Fallout MMO. Would be majorly sad to get a crappy MMO game instead of a good single player experience like the past two games. Im very surprised that it hasn't even been announced yet though, been far too long.

    Total War: Rome 2

Well, in my opinion, there are fixable problems and non fixable ones. Stupid AI can always be fixed but rarely will they implement features that were not in the release (movies, family tree, historical tidbits or anything else). I can handle the game being bad out the get go, as long as it has...

    Total War: Rome 2

Me too...I spent many many hours in that game w/ the Stainless Steel mod, so good!

    Total War: Rome 2

I do become tempted to come back and try again but I've come to the realization that there are some core features that I just cannot live without. Namely, the Family Tree...I really really like having generals with large lists of stats based on behaviours and random chance. It adds so much...

    Diablo 3 Discussion Thread

I had a ton of fun @ patch 2.0 and the first 3 weeks after Reaper came out. I played a ton, enjoyed the loot hunt, enjoyed bounties and rifts. I'm just at that point where I am finally burned out. Getting a Maximus made me play a bit longer, was fun to mess around with the completely changed...

    Total War: Rome 2

I think the engine was ok. They just tried to do too much, by the time they realized they overshot what they could get done, it was just too late. Personally, this is what I would like to see -Less focus on Naval combat, more focus on land based battles and balancing. -Dont worry about...

Idk, T6 is end game, you should require pretty much top notch gear of all types to make those runs, not just pickup 1 weapon which allows you to blast through top tier content. Just my opinion though.

    Total War: Rome 2

I kept an eye on this game for a few months after release, just never seemed close to competent. I would be very interested to hear if people are enjoying it now.

I have not, I actually have one sitting in my chest right now, I think I kept it around in case I was able to come up with a good fire build for my Barbarian.

This is exactly correct actually. I watched a very interesting video on a study of the Chinese and NA free to play game market. The essential conclusion was this Americans are not OK with direct pay to win. They are ok with pay to win in the following scenarios -You must be able to "win"...

I really would like someone to tell me how I am wrong. I mean, simply for the fact that dual wielding or sword+shield can give you two items with unique affixes instead of one is argument enough really.

    Diablo 3 Discussion Thread

I just don't understand 2 handed swords in this game. I play as a barb and about 1/3rd of all my legendary drops are 2 handed swords. 2 handed swords are completely useless unless you're a Crusader. They essentially guaranteed that they will never boost 2 handed swords simply because...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

People that complain about things are going to be right more often than not. It takes much bigger balls to look at the good that could happen instead of crapping all over everything. I wouldn't go patting yourself on the back too much about it.... Anyway, I can say most people thought this...

    L4D3? (Source 2.0 reveal)

Source 2 will coincide with Valves game box, I really think it's inevitable that the engine and HL3 will both be released on the new platform to entice people to purchase (ala when Steam was first released).

So, are most L4D2 players mean?

Whaaaa...dude...you need some serious re-evaluation on how you view yourself and other human beings. I lift and am very serious about my body as well, but putting this weird restrictions on other people is not the route to happiness nor is it the route to a happy relationship if you happen to...

    The Steam Machines

Someone had an interesting prediction Steambox will be released, new Half Life game and engine will be released in tandem. Same thing they did when they released Steam. I'd be willing to put money on this happening!

    Just got Fallout New Vegas

I used this guide recently http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/forums/showthread.php?10108-Fallout-Mod-Vegas-Modding-New-Vegas-in-2013 It was easy to follow and everything worked the first time. Played about 60-70 hours of a new game, had a lot of fun.

So, are most L4D2 players mean?

I think this happens with any game that has been around for years. Most people that still play have been playing for years. As the timeline of a game increases, the tolerance for newbies decreases, no way to avoid that unfortunately. If you're going to hop into a game that has been around for...

Gearbox to release Homeworld 1 & 2 HD

Who knows, just because they bought the rights doesn't necessarily mean they will make the game. It isn't uncommon to lease a project out. Regardless, I'm more looking forward to a Sins 2 game from Stardock. So much fun, could definitely use an engine upgrade though.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Hah, I've thought about that as well. Just imagine how bad our fingers are going to hurt from clicking though. My guess is that we won't be able to play as we will be slower, bad eyesight and have arthritis from using mice 10 hours a day for 80 years :(

My early 20s self agrees with you. Things are too easy, more time should be invested. 32 year old me does not have the time for that anymore, wish I did :/

    The Elder Scrolls Online

I honestly cannot believe they thought this was a good idea. I wonder if it was just one of those upper management ideas "MMOs are all the rage, just look at WoW, we could make billions!!!". Elder Scrolls is about an immersive, single player experience. I never wanted, nor do I know anyone who...

    Total War: Rome 2

I uninstalled the game a about 2 months ago. The patching process looks like its moving along. They have an expansion planned for the 12th as well that I might end up picking up. I think they can salvage this game, things are slowly getting better. I wish they would have waited 6 months or...

    Fallout 4 reveal?- 12/11/2013

Truly, probably the only game I am actually looking forward to. Only game I played more than Fallout 3 was probably Medieval Total War 2. After the garbage that was Rome 2, this is all I really have to look forward to.

    Dragon Age 3: Inquisition Announced

The story in DA:O was like a George RR Martin story, no good or bad guys, lots of shade of gray where different parties are in the right...depending on your perspective. That is how you write a compelling narrative, good vs. evil and all the shades in between.

Popular Games you left unfinished and why

Bioshock Infinite: Great story, great ideas, boring first person shooter. As an RPG, I would have found it incredible. Hell, if I could just go through the game with no combat, I would probably enjoy it as well.

    Dragon Age 3: Inquisition Announced

I trust them enough to learn from their mistakes, looking forward to it. ME3 was still a great game, Bioware is just held to ridiculous expectations. Part of the problem is they went too high with the first game, that is going to be a tough story to top. I don't really care as much for the...
