Unincorporated in Colorado but fully surrounded by municipal broadband. Paying 90 for 1000/40..... debating moving to get better upload. CenturyLink just put fiber in my brother in law's neighborhood and getting 1000/1000 for 65.
I'm sure someone quickly knocked out a FMEA and their mitigation solution was "Pilot turns off system if failure" not even knowing the details of that system
This so much. Everyone person I know with a Tesla drives like an asshat. My brother in law took me on a Costco run today in his model x and hit 80 in a 45.
I have a 1440p 144Hz 27" TN and a 4K 60Hz 40" VA and I prefer most games on the 27 for what it's worth
I do like turn based on the 40 though and for productivity its awesome
A native 120 Hz 4k that can also do 1440 is a good option also
Agree fully anecdotal from my perspective.
Buy a pixel for the software experience not for the hardware.
My shitty hardware and warranty experience does not mean you'll have one. Odds are you'll get an acceptable phone if they properly refurbished them.....
Everspin MRAM is asininely expensive. If Intel can drive prices down that would be great. In my applications we'd replace all our EEPROM with MRAM if the prices could even be in the same ballpark.
It is going to need a ton of expansion on the transmission end. I'm not familiar with the distribution end to comment.
Generally any capital expenses go into the rate base and up our rates, so fun fact....meeting demands of electric cars will make electricity more expensive.
What state? My company is in North Dakota, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, some other states and hires new grads ME and EE in the mid 60s. My wife's company is in Colorado and Missouri and hires in the 60s also for EE and CE new grads. I started in the mid 50s almost 15 years ago (EE).
Looked up a random clock 32.768KHz Epson Seiko xtal in our system and it was specified as (-0.04*10^-6)/(degC^2) with a 3 ppm per year drift coefficient. Looked up a mems and it was 100ppm and cost more. Consumer electronics must use some trash XTALs
Not my color, good luck with harvest.
Unrelated I hate working long hours for a corporation and know they are screwing me over but sometimes that is what is needed.
Curious what color? I designed the sensors in one of them that do stone detection.
Just got done with a couple hundred hour weeks due to requalification for parts shortages. Electronics supply market is a blood bath right now.
Working like that just takes all the fucks given out of me for...
Jabil has been in Michigan for a long time. I design electronics built in the USA. It's not impossible just a little more work and a little margin. Just need to design the parts for automated assembly. Though highly automated assembly doesn't provide many low skill jobs like manual assembly...
I have my bedroom TV speakers powered by a Sonos amp and it started doing emergency alerts even with the zone off. Nothing like a 2 AM alert for shit happening 100's of miles away.
If this was a simple problem chances are they didn't do enough validation up front. I tend to agree with the recent Ars article on this. I think they are using their easily update-able system as a reason cut cut corners on validation on the back end. I'm happy with over the air updates, but...
You need to look at tablets and phones to use them well. Touchscreens may be easier to use when you are parked, but tactile buttons and knobs are easier to use and still look at the road. Since they already have the screen there, it is probably a cost reduction to just make it bigger and not...
Every new game took a couple hours of tweaking/googling just to get it to load and not crash the system. All sorts of micro stutter and could only run games in windowed full screen. Tried new/clean drivers, tried reinstalling windows and didn't help. Driver updates were 50/50 if they caused...
Is it Nvidia BS, probably......but the electronics supply market is a disaster right now.
Shortages on everything seems like. Even commodity parts like FETs, Resistors, Ceramic caps, Diodes are doubling/tripling in lead time. Just had a gate driver go from 8 weeks to 48 weeks overnight.
Solder joints can wear out due to CTE mismatch between the joint/part/PCB. Certain packages are way more susceptible to this than others (large non J leaded resistors/caps are terrible so are parts with alloy 42 lead frames). Time at temp will age solder and accelerate fatigue. BGA have...
Lots of crosswalks near me are death traps. Feels like playing frogger when crossing. May as well not be there as all they do is give the pedestrian a false sense of safety. I can see why people jaywalk when they don’t feel safe in crosswalks or when crosswalks are stupid far apart.
Worst...
