Settings on Sony XE9005 for computer

Your brightness and black level settings seem very wrong to me. Can you distinguish between all squares on the following test?: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php If not, try setting your brightness around 5 and black level on 50.

    LG 43UD79 Information?

Rtings just reviewed two of the newest 2017 LG TV models which unfortunately use RGBW panels so they are not really good for PC use, but smokes, look at the input lag numbers. ~11ms, those are the absolute record numbers out of all 4k TVs ever made. Bodes well for this monitor though, as we can...

    Acer ET430K 43" 4K monitor

There are now 4 reviews posted on Amazon.de. The last reviewer mentioning huge image retention/burn-in problems. We are doomed. It seems we will never see a normal ~40" 4k monitor, especially if you want an IPS panel due to obvious advantages over VA when sitting this close to the screen. I...

4k 32" - text big enough without scaling?

I have a 40" 4k monitor and I'm using 150% scaling at ~80cm distance. Bigger text is easier on the eyes, but it really depends on personal preferences and how close you sit to the screen. If you ask me, 1440p is perfect for 32".

    Philips BDM4037UW - 40" Flicker-Free, Curved 4k

Unfortunately it has a VA panel.. For a screen this size and this close to the eyes, VA simply sucks for me, with all the color shift and washed up colors.. And the curve does not help. I had a curved Sumsung and had to return it immediately.. IMHO VA and its higher contrast is good for TV's...

    Philips BDM4350UC 43 inch 4K IPS PWM-free monitor

Hah, slither is extremely laggy and glitchy. I doubt you are seeing skipped frames.

    Jump from 1440P to 4k

I would say it's not so much of a wow factor in terms of resolution itself, but because it allows you to go with bigger display = deeper immersion and whatnot. Say you are on 27" 1440p, then going to 4k 40", or even 32", would be worth it... Personally I would advise against 32", but that's up...

    Philips BDM4350UC 43 inch 4K IPS PWM-free monitor

Don't know about that. All I know is that it's supposed to produce occasional artifacts at 1080@120Hz, but not something one would really notice while playing. But yeah, you better check on the latest regarding this TV, if this feature is essential to you.

    Philips BDM4350UC 43 inch 4K IPS PWM-free monitor

Still having trouble understanding why you guys just don't go with Sony X830C (X830?C for EU)? I mean, it's basically the same as this Philips, but without burn-in issues. It's IPS and supports 4:4:4@60Hz.. It even supports 1080p@120Hz as a bonus. Sure, it has a bit of contrast issues, but...

Gaming Monitor 144hz or more - Don't know where to start.

I'm afraid your options are quite limited... Your GPU is not good enough to drive 1440p anywhere near 144fps, and at the same time there are no IPS/VA 27"+ 1080p 144Hz monitors in your price range.. You could go with TN, but then the picture quality will be questionable.. Acer Predator Z35...

chroma 4:4:4 on cheap 4k tvs?

I'm using LG 40UF671V (same as UF675V) .. It costs a good 400€ and does 4:4:4@4k@60Hz. It has an IPS panel, which I really like. Initially I bought Samsung JU6500, but the color shift and viewing angles were atrocious, so I switched to LG. It does have a little bit noticeable input lag, though...

    Philips BDM4350UC 43 inch 4K IPS PWM-free monitor

If I am not mistaken, BGR in Windows is only a problem when using multiple monitors. A mix of RGB and BGR.. When using a single monitor, it doesn't make any difference whether it's RGB or BGR. The picture and text quality should be the same. And since hardly anyone will use this monitor in...

    Philips BDM4350UC 43 inch 4K IPS PWM-free monitor

Adding freesync would IMO hurt the sales. That's why you almost never see a freesync monitor without a G-sync alternative also on the offer. Nvidia has ~80% GPU market share and these owners would be reluctant to buy a freesync product, even though it has no downsides, but simply not being able...
