    Vega Rumors

I wouldn't say their engineering didn't screw up. 2 years after launching the Fury and they managed to ship a card that has less memory bandwidth than its predecessor while using HBM2.

    The Vega Pre-Order Thread

Maybe AMD realised Vega is really bad, and boosted the mining performance so gamers won't be able to buy it and complain? And then AMD and the gamers can blame the miners for buying up all the cards.

    Vega Rumors

Crazy thought: the rumoured 70MH/s is done on the 600W dual Vega. Considering the Vega FE does about 35MH/s, I'm a lot more likely to be right than wrong.

    The Vega Pre-Order Thread

How big is your house? I have about 30 cards in the basement but have some airflow issues. The breaker room has all the amps I need but it doesnt have any windows. The other side of the basement has windows but the outlets on that side is on a single breaker.

This really depends on where you live. If you are in Ontario, Canada, electricity is a lot cheaper at night. If you are under industrial pricing then electricity is practically free at night.

    Navi Rumors

Well even if you own stocks, what is posting online going to do? It's not like you can single handedly improve the public perception of the product one post at a time.

    Vega Rumors

Actually I found some Vega FE numbers. 38MH/s for the Vega FE at -200 core clock while dual mining. The 300W power draw is probably because the author didn't know how to undervolt or set power target. If we are lucky the Vega 56 will do 35MH/s at 170W after undervolting. I'll definately get...

I don't think it will be that good for mining either way. Even if it is, good luck buying them in large quantities.

    Vega Rumors

I might actually buy a Vega 56 and underclock it. I have a 75hz 1440p freesync monitor with RX 480 at 1200mhz right now. I really regret getting the 1440p as well as the 4k freesync monitor that I still have.

He's probably talking about the lack of 4GB cards at launch (almost none), and the overall lack of supply for the first month or so.

Trouble Finding 220V 15amp Power Strip

Current rating is more important than voltage rating. Even if kt doesn't specifically say 240V, it's usually rated for that. I think all power supply cables are rated 250V for example. So are rated for 300 V or even 380V.

    Vega Rumors

If a game didn't support SLI and nVidia rolled out a driver that enabled SLI, then what's wrong with showing the gains? AMD advertise the best case gains for their drivers all the time.

Vega Crossfire tested - poor scaling, slower than 1080 Ti

Well you were intentionally vague about "We could talk about intel intentionally, illegally and unethically, holding back multicore gaming to allow their business model to cash out bigger rather than think of their customers" If holding back more cores is illegal, then what about AMD holding...

    AMD Vega: Frontier Edition Benchmark

No difference between pro and game mode was the main point of the article. If there's no difference between 2 options, you can argue any 1 of then are useless.

Vega Crossfire tested - poor scaling, slower than 1080 Ti

Last time I checked, "holding back multicore gaming" is not illegal. That's exactly what you said and what I questioned.

    AMD Vega: Frontier Edition Benchmark

You cant read. His point was switching to gaming mode doesn't give you any more FPS in games. That was all he was trying to convey.

Vega Crossfire tested - poor scaling, slower than 1080 Ti

What law did intel break for that? Although I agree intel is evil because they want to make a profit. I give myself a pat on the back every now and then for buying a RX 550 and some RX 480s for supporting the non profit organization.

AMD RX 550 memory not ramping after sleep

I have a RX 550 and a Ryzen 1700 on my gaming server. Yesterday I was playing on the server when it suddenly lost connection. Can't ping it, and when I connect the monitor it shows a black screen. So it's probably a graphics driver problem.

    Vega Rumors

I still get tearing every once a while with my 75Hz freesync monitor (HP Omen 32" 1440p) from time to time. My framerates are always above 60 with an overclocked RX 480.

    Vega Rumors

Yeah let me just spend more on an inferior product that's slower and draw more power. I tried to bring AMD into the green by buying a RX 550 for my gaming server (only needed to display video), but it looks like my $110 is futile.

AMD Vega Frontier Edition Available for Pre-Order at Newegg

I don't know about other programs, but Solidworks has features that can only be enabled if you have a workstation card. Or you can get a program called RealHack that unlocks those setting even if you have a normal card. I tried it myself.

Doom & Gloom, huge hashrate drop incoming for RX 4xx/5xx cards

DAG is related to nunber of blocks mined. ETC should have about the same amount of blocks mined. Theres many other coins though.

Power Requirements for 6 Card Rig

If you wait long enough you can adjust the voltage in MSI Afterburner. You can also specify the power limit in most miners. For me, setting the power target to -30 is good enough compared to undervolting.

Doom & Gloom, huge hashrate drop incoming for RX 4xx/5xx cards

Writing everything, including the foundations, from scratch. It's written in C++. Testing will be done on Debian and I already added Windows support. It's still in the early stages, but the main goal here is to create a distributed Torrent tracker that is immune to censorship. 50% of the coins...

Doom & Gloom, huge hashrate drop incoming for RX 4xx/5xx cards

Theres always other ETHash based shitcoins with smaller DAG sizes. I'm making a coin from scratch, but it will be a year before it's ready. Is there any rules on HardOCP regarding posting information about your own coin?

    Power draw, who cares...

We ordered the repair service subscription but we didn't get the confirmation letter yet. He promised to get it fixed last summer, then he said it's too late in the summer so it's pointless to fix lol.

    Power draw, who cares...

It's 32C in my room because my dad didn't want to fix the AC. I had to go from overclocked Ryzen 1700 to i5 7400 to reduce the heat output of my PC. I'd rather be using a GTX 1070 instead of the overclocked RX 480 I have but I got locked into the Freesync bandwagon.

Rumor - mining driver for 1060

I doubt they will actually put that much effort into increasing performance. They will probably turn off some not needed parts of the GPU, adjust some timings, and call it a day.

You are right, the R9 290X is 250W TDP, and it used significantly less power during average use https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/R9_290X/25.html I expect Vega to use a whooping 20W less than its rated TDP during gaming
