DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Some people do not need desktops, some people don't play games, some people don't need 32GB of ram let alone 64GB. Taking a desktop around is heavily centered around lifestyle choices and situations. Asking why someone would take a desktop around is like asking why someone would play games or...

DAN C4-SFX: The smallest water cooling case in the world

This looks like convergent evolution. Although it's starting to look like the Ncase M1, Necere made his case with first and foremost the purpose of custom watercooling so it's interesting to see how this case will evolve.

    AMD @ 7nm - Ryzen 3k series GPUs - Navi & Vega 2 GPUs

You got too excited. There's videos debunking those. This is also written by someone with the wishful thinking that high core count must means higher frequencies, notice how higher core count always equals higher frequencies in the base/boost clock column. (6-core 2600x has higher clock...

Makes it difficult to justify switching away from the C7 then. Still waiting for my Black Ridge to be sent out from Overclockers UK.

    DAN HSLP-48: A powerful sub 50mm heatsink

It's more important to cool the hottest components in the case then try to lower the ambient temperature. You actually get higher returns trying to cool the hottest components, because the delta between the cool air and the hottest component (the CPU) is large. while the delta between the cool...

Those aftermarket heatsinks will come with stickers. The G.skill Ripjaws V heatsinks were just stickers as well.

    DAN HSLP-48: A powerful sub 50mm heatsink

Just pry off the heatsinks carefully with a flat tip screwdriver, since they are just pasted on with stickers. Then get replacements like: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Aluminum-Alloy-PC-Computer-RAM-Cooling-Heatsink-Heat-Sink-Insulating-Cooler-Case-for-DDR-DDR2-DDR3/32842718591.html...

    DAN HSLP-48: A powerful sub 50mm heatsink

Just FYI, a long time back I've replaced my G.Skill Ripjaws V heatsinks (which are too tall for Black Ridge) with cheap aftermarket heatsinks from China. Both of them (the original and aftermarket) are pasted on with thermal stickers and easy to remove and replace. I assume this is the same for...

    I just checked and there's a 17" HDR 120hz 1080p monitor on Taobao now.

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

China has a variety of 13", 15" and 17" portable monitors, USB 5V 2A powered, 1080p 60hz IPS HDMI input displays, you can find them on Taobao/Aliexpress. They come at 1/2 to 1/3 the price of Gechic monitors which are way overpriced. Anything with Displaylink shouldn't be considered at all.

    NCASE M1 Black question

If it's anodized the same way as Lian Li's other cases, yes, the silver color underneath will show. That's why I like silver better - hides scratches, hides dust which is usually greyish or white, and I think it looks more stunning.

Most amount of ram in smallest size?

What are the choices I have to pack a system with the most amount of ram in the smallest size? I can only think of: 1) X99e-ITX with ECC ram 2) X299e-ITX - 64GB ram max - seems to have buggy bios according to newegg reviews 3) Some gaming laptop with 4 slots of DDR4 for 64GB ram

If you want to use Dan's heatsink in future, it's better to not use the Asus Strix as the VRM heatsink will have to be removed to fit the heatsink.

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Just get the cheaper Cryorig C7 or NH-L9 for now and wait for dondan's super special heatsink. Edit: Just remembered that Z370i had that overhanging VRM that may not fit.

Fushilang is great, I own one. With the right camera tripod + rod you can make a stand for it as it has a 1/4" hole. I recommend the 17.3" one as it should fit in backpacks.

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

The easily obtainable Cryorig C7 and Thermolabs LP53 are only slightly better, I believe most people are using those. It's better to move to the N1 if you already own it until Dan's new heatsink comes out. If you don't own the N1, wait for the Dan C4?

DAN C4-SFX: The smallest water cooling case in the world

Is that any plans to ventilate the motherboard side of the case, and allow the PSU to draw air from the outside? The first prototype of the Ncase M1 had no ventilation on the motherboard side, and that side became uncomfortably hot, so Necere added ventilation there in the next version.

DAN C4-SFX: The smallest water cooling case in the world

I think more people are concerned with not being able to cool a mini-ITX properly than not being able to use air cooling. Newcomers to mini-ITX usually go around telling people to use low powered S and non-K CPU only and blower GPUs only.

DAN C4-SFX: The smallest water cooling case in the world

C4-SFX is consistent with your naming scheme, though if you look at it the other way, C4-H20 or C4-AIO immediately tells people that your case can be water cooled.

DAN C4-SFX: The smallest water cooling case in the world

Hi Dondan, you said the outer panels block thicker fans so if you put the screws on the other side then it won't block the fans.
  32. C

DAN C4-SFX: The smallest water cooling case in the world

Maybe you can put the fold/screws of the side panels at the top of the case rather than at the bottom where the radiator is. Someone using RGB fans would probably want the bling at the top and turn the case upside down anyway.
  33. C

DAN C4-SFX: The smallest water cooling case in the world

Extra set of taller feet would be nice, though technically you can turn the case upside down and use any thickness radiator/fans.

Buying a Dan "C4-H20" to not use H20 is pointless, just buy Dan A4-SFX otherwise.

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

You might want to check your GPU's core and memory clock in GPU-Z to see if it's really at idle. There are some situations whereby the GPU doesn't go to idle no matter what - some 144hz monitors, more than 2 non-identical monitors connected to the GPU etc.

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

I'm pretty sure you can turn off the zero fan mode with the Asus GPUTweak software, I've used it before. On the other hand I like setting my own user defined fan curve with MSI Afterburner which scales the fan speed up with each degree increase so that I don't get a sudden jarring noise increase...

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Please give me the thumbs-up that even though the bottom bay is 15mm high, you had no intention of supporting a 15mm drive at the bottom in the first place, because there's no way to screw it in?
  40. C

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

I don't get it. Do you mean screwing on the top of the bracket? The holes on the side of the bracket is too high for a 15mm drive. There's no way to screw it to the bottom of the case too.
