The benchmarks show it offering R9 Nano / GTX 980 performance. I don't see how that's mid-range when both of those cards are considered entry level high-end graphics cards. Sure they aren't flagship video cards but they are still high-end with a mid-end pricing.
Actually what this card offers as being a mid-range card is previous generation high-end card performance for the cost of a mid-range card. As one article said "Ferrari performance for a price of a Honda".
Okay that's an interesting development especially if Zen will be competitive with Broadwell-E. If AMD can have Broadwell-E performance but at a cheaper price point than Broadwell-E then that will force Intel to either give up market share or lower prices which in my opinion is great news. I am...
The Intel Haswell-E CPU Review: Core i7-5960X, i7-5930K and i7-5820K Tested
If we look at real-world performance improvements on high-end platforms alone in three generations (LGA1366, LGA2011, LGA2011-3) there was roughly a 31% performance improvement in the span of about 3 years over Nehalem...
1. We are not hitting a transition period. Die shrinks and newer architectures are running into more and more issues scaling down on lower nanometer processes. Eventually there would have to be a revolutionary advancement or they will not be able to scale down any further. Why do you think Intel...
A restructure is still a layoff and in this case it's a mass layoff. You can't just say that cutting 11% of your entire workforce is a "restructure". To put this into perspective when was the last-time Intel did a layoff this big? Not even during 2008 or beyond did they layoff that many. Also I...
How would a focus on mobile and server processors help desktop or consumer oriented processors? There is a specific reason why Intel has separate lineups and separation from the Core series and the Xeon series. Intel wouldn't just incorporate advancements from Xeon chips or the feature sets...
The last-time they did such a massive layoff was in 2006 and that was only 10,500. This is 1,500 more workers and is the biggest layoff in their history. Obviously they are not in such a great position even if they have to "restructure" (which is a polite way of saying layoff). The desktop...
