An update on batch 3 that is underway.
I met with my sheet metal shop Friday. Walked thru the purchase order and details of the drawings, but nearly everything is same as last time, so mostly discussed the new lofts. Adjusted a couple of radii to make it easier to punch. So overall pretty...
Got word from my fabricator that they are out this coming week, so next week before they could start a production batch. So I extended the case ordering window to Oct 13.
And, yesterday when I was doing inventory check of components for the next batch, came across 3 extra 2.5" and 4 extra 3.5"...
I posted this at SFF and thought it would be good to post here---
Ok, a bit of good news.......
it looks like we might have enough pre-orders do another production batch. By my count we are at 54 cases or so.
A couple of things to figure out but looking promising:
I would really want to get...
Preparing for another production run of the MI-6 second edition case!
Should be a 50pc batch. I updated the first page with info and link to ordering

Well,
Somehow email alerts didn't happen for over 50% of the shipments. The USPS shipping website has been having problems, so maybe that was one of them. I sent out tracking numbers to everyone who is still waiting for delivery. Sorry about that guys, really stinks to wait and be in the...
Batch done.
Got the rest of the case parts Friday, and then assembled over the weekend and shipped this morning! Everyone should at least have a tracking number before the end of today.
Went smoother than the first batch last year, so that was great!
On to the lofts, and maybe I need a 2060...
Batch update--
Looks like finishing and shipping the last 19 cases will take a few more days. Got feedback from my fab shop that they need a few more days to remake some chassis'.
I found a problem last week with the bends on some chassis', and they have been re-making them from scratch...
Batch Update--
Shipping Started Jan 7.
As of Jan 14, 29 cases have shipped, 19 to go. All should be out by Jan 17, unfortunately ti's a few days later than planned.
Tracking info emailed automatically.

Great job! Glad to see all 3 drive spots being used, but that does mean a lot of sata cables.
I put some of my excess cabling over on top of the psu, on the gpu side. You might try that.
Went to the sheet metal shop today to check status.
Reviewed some finished part samples. They looked great!
They are still working on the main chassis, so I didn't review that yet, but here are some other parts.
Clockwise from top: Cover, top plate, cover support, 3.5"mount.

I went ahead and ordered some of those cables as well. I went with black, and ended up with the same exact lengths as you rfarmer.
So in about 20 days I'll see if I can post some pics.
Just got a new quote from the fabrication shop. Looks like there should be a way to kick off a production batch with the orders we have now, and don't have to get to 75.
Gotta run the numbers, but should be able to finalize and figure out any tradeoffs this evening. Woo hoo!
You are right my brother. I didn't really figure that just pics of the cables would be useful. But now that you reminded me, ill do a how-to, with a ruler and such showing where to do the bends and such. Ill do it when i get home tonight.
Ok, here is the latest on the MI-6 Second Batch Production Status. I put it in today's CCD newsletter.
Ordering and payments are still available for the this batch until October 10th.
There have been some additional orders and a few cancellations since the last newsletter. We are at about...
I posted on the CCD webpage, and SFF, and I could use your help on the Loft design if you have a minute. Need to decide on how to attach the top plate to the Lofts: 4 screws or the 4 friction fit clips? I made a straw poll HERE, and/or you can comment here. Thanks!
Oh, and Loft info is HERE.

I'm sorry to hear that a friction-fit top plate would be a problem for you. Just to clarify, the friction fit is only when attaching a top plate onto the loft. The standard case still has the top plate attached with screws.
I'll do some brainstorming to see if I can make the design...
Good news.
I had 1 case reserved from the first batch, in case of any customer problems. Now that we are ready to go to batch 2, I went ahead and sent the case out to a reviewer for PerformancePSU.
So should get some more publicity.
Quick note--
For the MI-6 Second Edition production batch, we haven't reached the 100 case minimum order quantity yet, so the ordering is going to remain open. It had been targeted to be done by Sept 4.
Good news is that the prep work is pretty much done with the suppliers, so things can get...
The Shuriken is pretty sweet, congrats! --And it fits with room to spare.
Should go much smoother. A lot of the mfg and assembly was worked out with the last batch. Since it's going to be around 100 cases, it's not like I'm trying to build 500 or 1000 and stay on top of quality issues.
I'm...
As everyone probably already knows, we reached the target pre-orders and formal ordering for the next batch is started on the webpage!!
I put a bunch of info about it in the newsletter.
Time to celebrate!

Yes, 8-10 weeks. Fab will be 6 weeks, with all the other components coming in during that time. Then inspection and assembly and shipping.
