I've been thinking about this exact thing May I ask what size screen you are using? I've been thinking of going with a 65" OLED and setting up a desk many feet away from it.

It depends upon region and the consumer protection laws... Here in the USA we have the "hahaha ...you thought you would get some warranty from this large company??!" 1 year useless warranty. Same monitor gets 2 years in Europe and 3 years in Australia from what I've heard so far.

Sad to say that after a little over 2 years my 31MU97 died and LG is telling me it's around $350 to fix it. Totally furious.

COMPLETELY agree with this. I'd already have a 5k monitor, but 27" is just too small for perfect 2x scaling in terms of effective size of onscreen elements. But a 5k 30-32" would be basically perfect

Side note: Was there some sale on these or something? I'm in Idaho and several people around here are also selling "sealed brand new" of the exact TV...all trying to ask exactly what retailers are asking ($199). Seems like somebody had a clearance and people are trying to make a buck or...

No chance for you to sell it locally? The shipping is super prohibitive for all but really close to you anyhow.

I will say that the return process on Jet is pretty easy, but the refund takes nearly 3 weeks to get (has happened on 2 items for me now)

I think you should look that up again - Retina is a marketing term for very high pixel density. It's not really related to the display panel proximity to the glass.

I'm only talking about the display - which is 2nd to none right now. I agree about iMac's as a complete product, but I only want the display (at larger than 27")
