I have the gigabyte OC 4090. Playing cyberpunk at 4k with all settings maxed the card was pretty quiet, temps hit 53c max on the GPU. Lian Li o11 case. I can't get the side panel on due to that cable adapter so I just have the panel sort of sitting there for now until I get a 90 degree cable.
I got the lian li o11 dynamic last year for a build. Just got the 4090 and while it fits in the case I can't get the side panel due to the cable. Even the upcoming 90 degree cable is still too chunky to work. So looks like i'll have to shop for another case.
I do see lian li sells a vertical...
I ended up getting the gigabyte 4900 OC. The sites were getting hammered and glitching, I grabbed whatever I could and ended up getting the gigabyte from newegg and the MSI from bestbuy. 2 cards! I hung on to them a bit just to make sure an order wouldn't get cancelled due to a glitch and...
Rumored release is september from the articles i've read. Though i'd guess limited supply at that time and only certain models. I'd also expect demand to continue to be crazy and as a result they'll be hard to get and prices will be stupid. I really hope i'm wrong.
I haven't seen this one show up to purchase at all. I mean the price is still $440 but i've never seen it in stock. I've been refreshing all day every day at work and at home. Are you just saying the price is the same or that it's available for purchase and i'm just not seeing the buy button?
IMO no. But it depends on what you need it for. I do have a 5820, 8700 and now a 12900. The 12900 is a worthy upgrade over my 5820. But not over the 8700. But again, depends on your wants/needs.
I use a voltage offset of -.11 and I get mid 90's temp in cinebench 23 without throttling. With all cores running I leave the clock multiplier at 49. If I increase that I will thermal throttle. So far this is the best i've been able to do. Changing core voltage doesn't seem to do anything on...
Indeed. And it's not just that one game does or does not use a lot of ram but it's also all the other programs you may be running. I put 32gb on my computer I built 6 years ago. And i've made use of it. And 32gb on the system I just built. I even have 32gb in my NAS. Depending on what I have...
stock it hits 100c and throttles. Undervolting will drop it down but it's still hotter than i'd like. But it's stable and not throttling. I can undervolt more and bring the temps way down but it's not stable.
I don't overclock.
alder lake just runs plain hot, even with a AIO. I can easily hit 100c in cinebench and thermal throttle. I spent all weekend downvolting and testing so I am now stable and no longer throttling though I still hit 93c in cinebench. My main use case is video encoding so it was important to me...
I tell them what they need to do and then I set the server to no transcoding. So then it's on them to set it up correctly if they want to watch something.
I keep my 4k in a different folder and I don't share with anyone who doesn't have hardware that supports it. Though even a crappy 4k fire...
I have the same cpu and cooler and I’m hitting 100c and throttling on cinebench. Perhaps it’s defective. I idle at 30c. I'm going to exchange it for a new one and see.
I have. Nothing new there. Hopefully it will show up soon. But i've read and watched videos about it and it seems voltages are too high by default on the board and some tweaking will bring them and the temps down. I'll play around with it after work.
None of the above. I didn't already own a AIO and then one I ordered also didn't ship with the 1700 kit. But they did ship the kit to me for free with proof of purchase. I got the arctic cooling liquid freezer II 360.
I'm in the US and the kit shipped from the east coast and took about 3 days...
I have this board. Installing windows 11 crapped out when setting up the network so I had to bring up a cmd prompt to bypass it. Once windows installed I could install the drivers from the included USB stick. However the board has been fine. No issues with it so far.
I have a 12900k with a arctic cooling liquid freezer II 360 and i'm hitting 100c in handbrake encoding. I've gone over the install several times. It's easy and straightforward. I would have expected better temps from this AIO. I'm not overclocking and don't plan on it. I just do a lot of video...
I just picked up a 48" C1 on sale at costco. It's amazing! Using it as a computer monitor as well as for my xbox series x which is what i'll be playing forza on. Can't wait!
I have a 5 year old LG B6 and it's flawless. No burn in. I don't baby it either. All my settings are for greater brightness. Recently got a 77" Sony a80j and again, running it with settings for higher brightness.
I got my series X back in november. Costco.com It was that easy. No rush. No bots. Just ordered and it was delivered. A couple months later(January) a friend said he wanted one so I kept an eye out. Took a week and they were back at costco.com and I ordered him one. Both were bundles with an...
Looks like you may not have to use the official seagate expansion drive:
https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/xbox-series-x-s-can-use-standard-ssds-in-the-expansion-card-slot-its-claimed/amp/
Needs more testing though.
good to know! Looking at specs, in 3 slot mode the case allows for a 73mm high CPU cooler. 53mm in 4 slot mode. The ek i'm looking at looks to be 53mm tall.
The asus rog strix pump is 45mm so that allows for more room. But it's way out of my price range. Know of any other options closer to...
I've done a lot of things with plex over the past decade. I've built a server with 12 drives. Then I need more drives and built a different server with 20 drives. Then I got a drobo and connected it to an imac. Then a PC, then a mac mini. Then got a 2nd drobo. Now I just got a synology 1821+...
I'm considering picking up this case. Or the coolermaster nr200. I have all the parts in my cart just waiting to hit the buy button! Looking at a EK 280 AIO cooler as it reviews really well and is fairly thin-ish as these go. A 5950x along with my old 980TI as I have yet to get my hands on a...
ugh. If supply wasn't non existent for the new video cards i'd have a new one. Me and everyone else. lol. Same for the new Ryzens. Hopefully I can drop the settings to low and make due for the time being.
I'd get it for my Xbox Series X but anything with shooting I have to use a keyboard and...
I'll be testing it later but will be with an Intel 5820 and a Nvidia 980ti(until a worthy replacement is actually in stock) at 3440x1440. Buying at gog for no DRM.
Thanks for the responses. You've given me several options to consider. Good news is with the limited availability of ryzen 5000 series processors i'll have plenty of time to consider! Next up is motherboard research.
I could stretch to a mid tower if it's worth it. I like the clean look of the fractal design cases. Any thoughts on bequiet! cases?
Looking at a dual radiator though I could go triple if it's worth it. Especially for the large video encoding work loads I do.
I'm looking for a small case for a micro ATX board but can also fit a full size video card. Specifically a Radeon 6800xt. I'm going to run a Ryzen 5950 and in addition to gaming I also do video encoding where the CPU can run at 100% load for days at a time. So cooling is very important. I'll...
I know with Nvidia cards 10bit encoding didn’t arrive until their 1000 series cards but B frame support not until their 2000 series.
I know amd Vega cards don’t do 10bit.
I can’t find any info if the Radeon VII can do it.
AMDs FE card might be able to with their pro drivers.
It’s just so...
