In Germany (and maybe elsewhere) Samsung just release a curved 40" Series 9 TV (40S9) for RRP 1499.
I could see the price dropping to about 1k within 6 months.
TV has 4:4:4 4k 60hz and even 10bit. Quantum Dot, HDCP 2.2.
Only issue could be HDMI 2.0 which doesnt work with 4k 60hz 10bit i...
Hello everyone,
There is a currently a 19% off all Samsung TVs in Germany at the moment, so i am trying to find out if most people are happy with the TVs as monitor replacements?
Also the model numbers are totally different, does anyone know what these models correspond to:
UHD JU6770...
Hey,
So while looking for some info on the PWM-free Crossover 44K, i came across this promotional info:
http://itempage3.auction.co.kr/DetailView.aspx?ItemNo=B236504200&keyword=Crossover%2044K&scoredtype=0
It says this model can do 1080p@144Hz and 1440p@ 120Hz!
This could be a near-perfect...
Hahahaha you are hilarious! So suddenly one of your main arguments becomes invalid, yet only the Philips should be held to that standard eventhough both screens are used as PC monitors
At the end of the day the Philips is cheaper (in germany where i live its 700€ vs 1000€...
Indeed :)
Am I going to take the opinion of multiple professionals over a few random people who literally just received their screen? Hmm thats a tough one....
And thats on top of the hundreds of testimonials on here and sites like OCUK.
The only "questionable" aspect is the occasional...
Those are the clear cut metrics we can compare these screens with. Of course there will be returns, just like the samsung will get returns, perhaps due to the 120 PWM or 44ms Lag.
The color distortion issue is a problem, but it is widespread with current VA Panels, so maybe we should wait and...
Whats wrong with the panel? Its been reviewed very favourably by multiple big sites (TFTCentral, PRAD).
The Samsung has exactly 0 Reviews + the aforementioned negatives.
The only advantage is the curve.
Samsung Disadvantages:
PWM is half of the philips (120hz vs 240hz)
Lag in PC mode is double (44ms vs ~20ms)
Contrast is lower (1:3000 vs 1:5000)
4k/60hz only with HDMI 2.0 (Rare)
Full Glossy Screen (Semigloss is preferable)
Hey can someone turn the backlight down to 1 and see if there is any eyestrain surfing the web?
120 Hz is extremely low for desktop use.
Can someone confirm Text looks that horrible in GAME mode?
The Frequency of PWM is an important factor for possible eyestarin. If its 1000+ Hz I see no issue with PWM. Im guessing only pros can test this though.
If you mean using 2 hdmi from the same computer and displaying the screen with PbP and extended mode, then yes it will work...somewhat.
There are a couple issues:
1) there will be screen tearing down the middle when you scroll webpages for example.
2) Maximizing windows and especially...
Everything sounds like a deal breaker to you, you have been literally whining for the last 10 pages. Do us all a favor and DONT buy this monitor.
Some good info here: https://communities.intel.com/thread/51410
Basically all ULV processors ,like 4300U, that use HD4400 cannot do 4k@60hz over sst.
I'm not sure about HD5000 though.
Hey,
I am using a laptop and would like to improve my sound. Additionally i would like to feed an optical signal from my ps4 into this soundcard. What options do I have?
Thanks

Has anyone ever stuck a custom sized neutral density filter on a screen? That would reduce brightness by a ton while not distorting the colors and allowing the backlight to be at 100%
This isnt a gaming monitor. Some people may use it as such, but this screen is for work and productivity. This is the first size you dont need to scale @ 4k, thats why it is more popular than the BENQ.
Not everyone is so sensitiv. So far i havent read a single person here or at OCUK complain about the PWM or headaches, and we all know what a nitpicky bunch we are.
Has there even been another >32" 16:9 4k screen announced? Something i can buy off amazon and no dodgy korea import
