    Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (Borderlands spinoff)

What's with all these modern games having so much purple ? Like everything has to be purple now. I can watch a trailer for a new game and tell what kind of game it's going to be given how much purple is in it.Im starting to use it as a metric of how much i need to avoid the title.

Sony are good news for PC gaming and more specifically for Linux / Steam Deck. Who knows we might get to see GT series or Little Big Planet on Steam.

Activision's new anti-cheat system for COD includes kernel level driver. driver already leaked.

And with more monitors featuring KVM's you don't even need a separate keyboard and mouse to switch between the two. Im running Linux and with all the anti-cheat stuff coming to here too and potentially making me just as vulnerable as a windows normie im also advocating people have two machines...

AMD FSR even in unsupported games

Just as an FYI you can run AMD FSR on any Proton game for Linux (and that means steamdeck eventually) using the: WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR=1 %command% in the steam game launch properties menu. And it doesn't cost anything to copy and paste :p

    brightness and colour homogeneity

I still have a usable CCFL monitor (8-bit TN) and the screen appears to have almost perfect backlight uniformity. It kind of makes my other LED monitors feel cheap (even though they cost 3 times as much) and by comparison they look nowhere near as consistent. That said the downsides of CCFL...

    LG 27GP950 160Hz 4K HDMI 2.1

Happy from gaming performance but what about image quality ? This is something i have been thinking about. I currently integer scale some games on my old hardware and it gives decent results (although my CPU is weak and so the lower res puts more strain on it). Im running 1440p on a 31.5"...

Steam Deck officially announced by Valve

They really should be adding freesync/VRR to this thing. Not sure it is possible after the fact using firmware/software updates ? but i know freesync is supported on AMD using Linux so it's a bit of a head scratcher if they omitted this intentionally.

    The state of VR technology

Also translated as there was no financial incentive to actually make LCD technology implement faster response times. The industry stagnated on LCD and then along came VR and made low persistence into a requirement. People like yourself have laid the good ground work with your reviews and tests...

Steam Deck officially announced by Valve

    1. i didn't think it had a camera 2. when you say install any OS you want you mean any Distro you want. Although windows 10 will be (technically) supported until around 2025 the minimum requirement for windows 11 is a 9" screen. This may of course change, but if it doesn't then your probably...

New Samsung Odyssey G9 with MiniLED announced

is there a reason why you don't buy a 31.5 1440p monitor for that instead of having a huge black bezel around a 42" screen ? is it just the fact it's OLED. Because there is the samsung G7 at 240hz 1440p 31.5 and it has good enough response times and is a VA panel with a decent black level down...

Arm Is RTX ON! World’s Most Widely Used CPU Architecture Meets Real-Time Ray Tracing, DLSS

I thought ChromeOS was Gentoo linux ? Apparently valve are aiming for getting steam running on Chromebooks. And there is talk of a more powerful ChromeBook coming out which is intended for gaming. So there does seem to be a convergence on opensource gaming from Nvidia/Valve/AMD. Maybe they can...

    PG32UQX - ASUS 32" 4K 144 Hz HDR1400 G-Sync Ultimate

This feels like a top of the line last year kind of product. which is not surprising given the pandemic and release schedules slipping massively. I think quite a lot of new tech is really just late 2020 tech re-bundled & sold today. Next year things "should" get cheaper and improve with fully...

DDNS worth setting up ? With Synology NAS

if you put your NAS facing the outside world make sure that it is air-gapped from your main network (or at least in a DMZ, separate VLAN) and that there are no real sensitive files on there. Manually add the files via a USB pen, or with a cheap intermediate laptop/device that is used to sync...

    Aorus FI32U - @ $950(USD} -- For Sale Now

For me this is actually a good thing. The last and only time i had a 4k screen was around 3 - 4 years ago. (bought it based on a review from a poster on here) The screen coating was so super grainy it completely destroyed almost all the benefit of the 4k DPI. So much so, that i refunded and went...

GPU prices — is the worst behind us ?

I guess I look to TDP / performance to identify improvements in generational releases. This generation just didn't stack up for me. Behemoth GPU's that destroy your energy bill (along with the 'actual' TDP on that intel CPU) and ruin your comfy gamer moments with the heat & noise generated...
