Good riddance. If anyone really needs an old port they can just get an adapter.
Personally I'd like to see them go one step further and drop the DisplayPort PHY.
I am looking forward to the day that both video cards and monitors come with 4 USB Type-C ports.

On a more positive note, BizLink/Accell has developed an "active" DP to HDMI 2.0 adapter. It was shown off at CES 2015...
Can anyone confirm that you can use a passive DP to HDMI cable to output 4k 60p 4:4:4 from DP port on an HDMI 2.0 capable GPU to a HDMI 2.0 port on a 4k TV?
Edit: You can't use an existing "passive" DP to HDMI cable, it won't work. An "active" DP to HDMI 2.0 adapter is scheduled to be released...

Yeah MST isn't even enough. It will require two separate cables.
One DP 1.3 cable with compression would definitely work. Not sure without compression.
My money is on SST since Samsung has already released an 4K SST display so they have the tech and know how. Also usually 2 HDMI ports is a dead giveaway and since this only has 1 that is a good sign.
The official spec sheet floating around says it only supports HDMI 1.4 and not 2 like the title...
