There's a test of an LG OLED TV over on tweakers.net that says its the best TV ever. Very nice picture quality, HDMI2.0 does support 4:4:4. Bit high lag of around 50ms, but I'm no gamer.
However good it looks, I do keep hearing about burn-in problems with OLED, so is this suitable for desktop...
Thanks for the very elaborate response!
I agree Teracopy isn't perfect. It doesn't crash with me once I get it to work on a machine, but I do need to disable UAC or it won't kick in at all. And I too only use it because of the verification. I very often have to copy stuff, and it needs to be...
I reinstalled my PC a couple of weeks ago. Win7 x64, fully updated. I also upgraded my PC from 16GB to 32GB (still good ol' Sandy Bridge system, i7 2600K, Asus P8P67Pro)
Now I used to run Teracopy, but I'm having trouble with it now, it won't take over from the Windows copy handler. I'll fix...
When I turn sideways on my Philips, I see no flicker. It depends on your personal sensitivity to PWM. I suggest you try it, for now there's no real alternative that has no PWM but offers the same PQ as the Philips, unfortunately.
I run at 30% brightness, and do notice darker corners, but not enough to be a bother. As for the stand, it really did bother me so I chucked it and got a seperate VESA mount, which allows adjusting the position in height, tilt and rotation. It only does not allow going to portrait mode ;)
Nice monitor, had one for years. Still uses CCFL backlights. If in good condition (the powerbuttons being a weaker spot, I saw several ones at work going bad) I'd pay $50, no more.
Yeah, I ran over the entire menu and disabled any "automatic" stuff. I always do that on all my devices. So when I read the question I was scratching my head what he was talking about. I never saw it to begin with.:D
I agree the Philips isn't suitable for viewing from 1 foot away, but starts to be OK from 2 though. I got mine as a replacement for the benq bl3200pt, because the service from BenQ is absolutely horrible. If you have a defect, the warranty consists of sending you a replacement monitor, from a...
Disagree. Make that a firm "--" as in shitty speakers.
I got a simple USB speaker from Cabstone (Amazon here)
and it's miles better than the built in tinny speakers that reflect more to the back than the front. If you need speakers, make sure you have room for some separate ones! No matter...
It said the same thing on the 6900 series. Then it turned out it couldn't do 4:4:4 after all... Just make sure you can return them in case these are the same.
Been fooling around with mine today. The original stand is crap. It tilts the monitor annoyingly far back, and you can't turn the screen.
Real estate is nice, will take some getting used to :) But I do need another stand.
According to the Ergotron website, the Neo Flex Widescreen stands can...
Oh great. Just to add to the mess this already is... Just watched my new bluray from Conquest of the Skies, and at about 6:05 into episode one, it shows a rought rock surface with a dragonfly imprint.
Guess what. Flicker galore. My original monitor from early 2014 didn't flicker, but this...
I contacted them right away. No reply. I again sent a mail 3 days later. No reply. Seems they're just going to ignore this and pretend I don't exist. Way to go BenQ
The Ergotron LX Desk Mount LCD Arm is an arm, not a stand. I can't fix this to the desk here. But thanks for the tip, I might want one of these at work :-)
From the description on Ergotron's website the Neo-Flex Wide Screen LCD Lift Stand has included adapter arms for 200mm VESA. Has anyone...
Mine just came in and is sitting in a corner of the room, still packed, taunting me  Just my luck to be on duty this weekend.
I probably will want to get a lifting stand to lower the monitor.
Without having to re-read the 100+ pages of this thread - can anyone give me advice? Is the...
We call it Northern Greece these days. Just as corrupt as the southern Greek isles. Just as poorly governed (these days by a fascist government, which is just as bad as the socialists up until a year ago).:o
We don't have our own Amazon, but the French, German and UK stores offer the same free...
Why does Seiki not service the European market? They don't sound like a US company, and most Asian companies either stick to the Asian market or go global. Just curious.
My reseller is Amazon.fr. And they pointed me to BenQ. So no options there.
I just placed my order for a Philips BDM4065UC. I have no further trust in BenQ. If I can get an exchange that is decent I'll sell it. If not, I'll have to trash it, the stench is unbearable and it's too cold still to...
OK, cooled down. A bit at least. Details as requested.
I had a perfect monitor. In new condition, but it developed a 5mm cluster of bad pixels at a very visible area. So I requested a repair. After having to send in some pictures I received an RMA form. I filled this in and packed the monitor...
Nope. Luckily I packed the monitor last night at 2am, and asked a friend to stay at home to welcome any UPS driver. Who came around noon.
Quick yes, but good service requires good communication as well.
And the replacement.... I can't write about it yet, I am livid. This is supposed to be a...
Mine has developed a nasty cluster of bad pixels. BenQ is sending a new one with UPS, who will take the old one at the same time (Netherlands). Unfortunately, they forgot to mention _when_ UPS will come.. Has anyone experience with BenQ.nl? I received the RMA form today, should I pack my monitor...
I should refrain from formulating questions in the middle of the night...:o
My question if any of you owners are using a Radeon 280 had nothing to do with gaming performance. The 280 cards have had some technical issues running 60Hz 4K on some monitors, and I was wondering if the Philips runs...
Your link shows them, but can't find any announcements. Quiet release... Nothing on European availability or 60Hz 4:4:4 either.
So not yet sure if these can replace the Philips BDM4065UC
The Panasonic VIERA TX-40AXW634 TV has almost exactly the same design (look at the stand) as this Philips monitor, and it appeared on the European market around the same time. Related? If so, would it have 4:4:4 on HDMI2.0...
Sorry to hear all you gamers having flicker trouble!
Quick question outside of the flicker debates though: what resolution can you drive this monitor at, with hdmi 1.4? Can you do 1440p with 60Hz?
Interesting blog, Google translate makes it really useful (as usual):
"Philips monitors are part of a more organic quality is 100 times cheaper to eat a bath."
Anyone have this case?
I'd like to know how much room (in cm or inches) there is between the mainboard tray and side cover to tuck cables away. It is a rather slim case, so it can't be much.
Also, I'd like to put two 3.5" harddrive trayless swap stations in the bottom two 5.25" spots. When...
