What would get you to switch to linux from windows?

I dualboot Windows 10 and Fedora 24 on my laptop. Windows only lives because gaming and nvidia optimus is still a bitch to use on Linux compared to Windows 10. After tinkering for a while I can make it work, but usually there will still be glitches and some games flat out don't work, or they...

Which Linux OS best for desktop user.

Seconding the Fedora suggestion. Take a few days and get used to how it works and you might like it. It's been my daily driver for several months now with no issues. I use it for programming and websurfing and whatever else you would use a laptop for.

How long did it take you to like Windows 8?

Used it for as long as I had to. Never had trouble with it, but never got comfortable either. Using win10 on my desktop and a chrome OS laptop.

ASUS VG278HE or PB278Q.. pick for me..

In my humble opinon. Sneaking it in is slightly better than straight up lying about it. OP these monitors are for different things. If you play fps or other fast games and want maximum framerate then go for the 144Hz one. I have the ROG Swift and the 144Hz is amazing. If you are playing slower...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

A 600W PSU will be plenty. Using a PSU calculator I got a recommended 430W for your build. That is with a CPU clock of 4.5GHz. Just to offer even more assurance I have had almost the same build since October 2014 and it runs very well. I have 16GB RAM, custom liquid cooling, an SSD and a...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Mayhem pastel pure black. Such a bad idea, especially since my tubing is solid black as well. It was mostly so the reservoir would be black like the rest but clear water would have worked perfectly fine. Oh well, learning by failing I suppose.

    "Ghastly" EA new drm

I'm not really bothered by this because I don't use Origin and have not purchased a EA game for years now. It is wonderful. Don't touch the poop.

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Thank you, that helps numb the pain in my fingers. Yeah not proud about that motherboard thing. I could get a thinner radiator quiet easily for cheap so I should do that. Would be nice to get the filters to fit also. But I am a very lazy person so I might just pretend everything is fine...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

I could do that, but the fans were kinda expensive and I don't have a tool like that anyway. It ran fine all night so I'm going leave it like it is. If it breaks I have a good reason to abandon watercooling for good. It is not for me I think. Kinda fun to "plan" and build but too much of a pain...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Have you ever been proud of something but ashamed at the same time? Kinda how I feel now. I made it all fit. The 38mm radiator with the 25 mm fans. Have some pictures of my ghetto build. http://imgur.com/a/KCatB#0 I don't think it could be any tighter. The fans are pushing on the switftech...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Hi, sorry for late answer guys. Didn't think anyone cared about my little rant/self ridicule. I used the EK Waterblocks EK-CoolStream PE 240 and two 120mm x 25mm noctua fans. And yes I was using the Swiftech Apogee Drive II Incl. MCP35X Pump. The way the tubing extends makes it impossible (at...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Hi. So just in case anyone is wondering. 2 noctua 120mm x 25mm fans bolted on a 38mm radiator will not fit. At least if you are using a swiftech pump/cpu cooler combo. Just wanted to inform you incase anyone of you are as dumb as me and fail at measurements and basic math. Works with one fan...

    Hands-On With Windows 10’s Preview Build 9926

You could have a local account on windows 8. You can have a local account on windows 10. Dunno why this somehow a problem for folks. I have always started with a local account and eventually connected my live account because it's beneficial for me.

Are you serious? If you could just access the hard drive of any computer just by making a new user without logging into the existing user that would be a huge security hole.

    The Witcher 3 Discussion Thread......

I normally never preorder. But I trust in the slavs. Got this preordered when it was first anounced. edit: In my opinion the Witcher 2 was miles ahead of any RPG that has been released since. The amount of detail, graphics, story, quests, characters and voiceacting is just insanely well done...

    Asus Z97I-Plus

I can confirm that this works. Showed up in bios right away and is currently running Windows 10 flawslessly. No issues with hibernation or booting. There is a tiny screw with a bolt on it on the motherboard that you have to remove and fasten the SSD with.

ASUS Announces ROG SWIFT PG278Q Premium Gaming Monitor

My panel has no issues like that as far as I can tell. It's more akin to how your screen would look if it cycled trough different resolutions. Just looks kinda weird but stops when playing the game.

ASUS Announces ROG SWIFT PG278Q Premium Gaming Monitor

Happy with mine now after returning the first one. It's been working quite well but it has some weird jittering going on during the loading screen for LeagueofLegends.. Never saw it before but knowing LOL it could just as well be the buggy game itself.

A single GPU will not max out the speed of an 8x PCIe slot. It should not be an issue. Hell even the Asus Maximus Impact is going to come with a M.2 PCIe capable slot and they are marketed to gamers. They would not have included that possibility if it could affect gpu performance.

LG's curved monitor - analysis of curvature

I think this will be the same a nice option to have and there is definitely a market for it. But I don't believe this will completely change the flat panel standard for a few reasons. 1. Not everyone is comfortable being surrounded and completely immersed. This is dependant on how powerful the...

NCASE M1 picture and build general log

I might be wrong on this one since I always use a powerful discrete gpu in my builds, but isn't the gpu in yours superflous since the motherboard has an integrated gpu and multiple outputs? Oh and good luck on your first build. Hopefully you will have a lot of fun and minimal frustration :-)
