Quick question, I built a PC in the (v2) M1 around a year ago.
At the moment I'm using a
-VII Impact
-SX600G
-4670K with a Thermalright axp-100
-Palit 970 reference
Anyway, the noise of the whole thing is driving me up the wall.
What can I buy to sort this out? Its definitely the 970...
Whew, all done and installing drivers now. I just didn't install the WiFi daughter board. There was plastic over the antenna holes, so I just gave up on it. I use Ethernet anyway.
I also didn't really need to screw the audio board in, it seems to be hanging in there alright.
Thanks for the...
Board arrived today, CPU hopefully tomorrow.
Any tips for building with this motherboard in the M1? I'm wondering if I should install everything onto the impact like sound, CPU, cooler etc then put it in the case? Or if it's best doing all that when the board is already in the case...
So I looked at this picture, and noticed I'm supposed to have 5 motherboard screws.
I can't zoom in far enough to check, but are these the screws in the photo? I have 10 of them and I'm not sure if they are the same...
Hey guys, how would the Thermalright AXP-100 do with the Impact and M1?
Current B75 board broke and I've decided I'll just get it over with and jump up to Z97.
I'm may get the Z97i-plus instead, going to read some reviews of each first. If I were to get it instead, would the AXP-100 sill...
So I built most of my PC last week, and should be finishing it off later this week if my new GPU and SFX PSU arrives.
The only problem was that I couldn't figure out how to attach my HDD to the bracket, nor could I find how to attach my SSD behind the front panel.
Could somebody tell me...
Thanks for the pictures, this looks like a good choice. The layout between the two boards really is almost identical. I have a spare Corsair SP120, which should be a good choice to replace the slim fan. Here in the UK I can only find the "AXP-100", but looking at specs they seem the same.
My...
Okay so I have the ASROCK B75M-ITX, which isn't a motherboard I've ever seen mentioned around here. Here is a picture of the layout.
What is a quiet cooler that will fit? I can't overclock, and I'm using the 3570, so it won't need to be heavy duty.
This place has stock in the UK

Expensive though, hopefully it gets cheaper when more stores have it.
What CPU cooler is best for this case? I will be using it with a 4790k and reference 780 Ti. I won't over clock very much, so noise takes priority over performance.
Back before I ordered the M1, I was pretty much set on building in a Corsair 350D and using the H100i. I had already ordered a...
Are fan filters a necessity for this type of case? I see a lot of people buying the Demciflex filters. I personally have never seen any dust in my PC, and it's not like I keep my room meticulously clean. Maybe it was just the case design (NZXT Phantom 410) and number of fans I had installed.
How does your PSU get on? Perhaps I could get away with the Tri-x after all using a bottom fan and the PSU drawing air from outside the case. I'm sure the temps won't be great but as long as it stays relatively quiet I can't justify spending the extra £100 on a nVidia card.
Was it actually painful to touch? Did it still manage to be quieter than the reference 780 Ti? If it's only the case that gets hot, and not the card itself I don't really mind.
The website says a GPU with a blower design is recommended. Unfortunately the AMD reference design is the only one that has this type for their cards.
How do normal designs like say the tri-x/windforce/directcu etc cope in this case? I would probably be using a AIO like the H100i on my CPU...
Hmm, I hadn't really considered the extra cost of the actual equipment beyond the block. How quiet is the H220? Its probably hard to tell over the PSU anyway, if it isn't substantially quieter than a 780 Ti I may just spend the extra money.
Edit: Also, what sort of upkeep do you need to do? I'm...
From anyone who used a Swiftech H220 to cool the GPU as well as CPU in their build, how complicated was it? If I had the money I'd probably just buy a blower design 780 Ti, but buying a cheap reference 290x could save me a lot of money.
The main problem I have with water-cooling is...
