I would first have tried running Win10 in Safe mode or even better a Linux live USB (Mint is my fav) to be sure the problem is hardware related and not Win10 (some faulty driver, power plan, hibernating, ...).
Actually I would have checked other input devices first ;)
Considering that:
- With the stock NCase feet and slim fans on the bottom rad, I would barely count it as a 120mm rad.
- 1.42V at load, probably during the whole stress test
- ambient temp of 28°C
- custom loop for CPU + GPU
I am not that much surprised by the temps you get during the benchs...
Sounds like the driver/software of the keyboard is loaded and then something unusual happens linked to USB powering.
What I would try is attach the Logitec keyboard only and check if you can navigate into the BIOS/UEFI with it.
If the keyboard works fine there, I would then boot into safe mode...
Hi guys,
I was wondering if the M1 owners using the magnetic filter (on the bracket fans) are happy with it.
Is the mesh fine/small enough to stop the dust?
Does it add noise to your fans?
Thanx, your NCase build is not bad either, well done! Looking forward for more pics!
Small res are not that common unfortunately.
The Swiftech Micro one is your best bet I guess: http://www.swiftech.com/mcresmicrorev2reservoir.aspx
It was indeed a bit tricky with the mini water tank upside...
Thanx!
Yep, I guess a short PCB GPU is almost the only to way to fit a D5 pump in there.
Maybe full blocks will be available again for next gen short GPUs...
Thanx!
The res is an Alphacool mini water tank, but has been discontinued because there is no baffle in it and its IN and OUT ports are aligned, which is not good to get rid of bubbles. I've found a solution for that though.
Some teasers, build log here...
Before putting CLU on the die, you better apply some nail polish on the lil capacitors on the left of the die to prevent any shorts due to CLU.
What works even better is covering them with liquid electrical tape.
My 3570k Ivy Bridge is still showing low T° 3-4 (5?) years after delidding. I...
I would first check if there is a conflict between the settings in Dual Intelligent Processor 5 / Fan Xpert 3 and what is set in the BIOS / UEFI.
Then I found this post where the user dangernat has an issue with Fan Xpert and is manually editing the CPU speeds, you could try to do the same for...
Hmm... is the CPU block or anything else really preventing from having that fan at the back to be put inside? Then it will be really stuffed! :)
Amazing job @Chapeau!
Thx for the explanations!
I wasn't sure it was for mining but with 3 cards on an x1 it is now quite obvious!
I made a quick search but it looks like USB3 PCIe riser x4 doesn't exist. Probably because USB3 can not support such a bandwith, dunno...
Fun and epic setup, thx for sharing!
It looks like a PCIe Gen3 x4 or x8 are as good as a x16 (as described here: http://www.ebay.ie/itm/PCI-E-Flexible-extension-Riser-cable-x8-to-x16-135mm-B-type-Support-GEN3-/121708566080)
Even if this is correct, you are going to share a x4 on three cards...
Nice one noticing it, but nope, it's a cheaper MCubed FanAmp:
I'm using it to power the 4 fans of the push/pull setup (12V up to 25W) with one of the 3 pin connectors.
I've tried the 3 following options to set the fan speed, but it's still no perfect.
1) I have a water temp sensor connected...
A D5 pump is indeed suposed to be quieter than a DDC one, and I had no problem fitting one D5 under a rad attached to the side of the case with a push/pull setup:
From the pic below, there is even room for an XSPC res, never tested it though:
Reminds me of @Phuncz who also switched from water to air, and was really happy doing so in terms of cooling and silence, if I remember well...
But yeah, why are you fed up with your loop?
Finding the right way to route the tubing inside the M1 is part of the SFF fun, I think! If you are ready...
This one matches both black and coolant colours:
GELID FN-FW09-20 :D
Voltage control is fine, only drawback I see is that some fans will not start at low voltage
Yep, can not find a dedicated GPU block either... thx for confirming this.
I am probably dreaming, but maybe my GTX970 Heatkiller block could fit...
Will try to get the measurements from Zotac and check this out.
Looks like coil whine is also present with that card unfortunately...
I just noticed the Zotac GTX 1080 mini fits the M1 according to the compatibility spreadsheet.
Is there a compatible GPU block available?
Do you guys know if it suffers coil whine?
Aircooling while you have such a big reservoir available??!! :p
Looks like a dangerous setup, hopefully the M1 will not fall backward from its elevated position!
Speeds differ depending on the size of the drive.
Good comparison EVO - PRO here: http://techreport.com/review/30993/samsung-960-evo-ssd-reviewed

Also a good comment on real life appreciation...
Really clean cutout, well done!
(construction marks should be erased ;))
For a second I thought you did the hole on the front side of the case.
Nobody has put a rad there yet heh!
Hardware.info got a total power drawn of 286W with an i7 5960K and a GTX 1070 mini: https://uk.hardware.info/reviews/6979/13/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1070-mini-itx-review-cute-1070-power-consumption
Which is, in term of wattage, almost identical to a 5930K and a GTX 980, the SF450 should be sufficient.
From the ebay page, your switch has a 3V LED. A resistor should have been included in the package so that you can make it compatible to a 12V source.
If you have a multimeter, you can check what's the voltage from you mobo. Easy bet is that it's 5V like mine (I've asked Asrock support).
I also...
