Thanks for clarifying that about the liyama (yup, need that for both console and PC use). I guess it's down to either the VW2430H or the XB2783HSU again.
Just read the review. :(
I was expecting high input lag, considering that it's multi-input, but not that high! Sigh. I have tried those Benq, Samsung and Asus monitors already, but had to send them all back for one reason or another. Besides, I have read that the liyama has some weird issue...
Been eyeing the Asus VN289Q since forever and it is now available on Amazon.de. Anyone (NCX?) know anything about it? Response time, input lag?
I'm actually intrigued by the PiP/PbP feature too. All I know is that it's supposedly mounting a Chi-Mei VA 8bit panel and that's about it...
My god so much misinformation in here, my head hurts.
"why you would limit yourself to 1080p?"
Because that's the right thing to do. For him. Did any of you even read what he wrote, or you just recommend the first thing you have in mind?
Why would everyone keep on suggesting a 1440p monitor...
Bravia's HD TVs have horribly high response time and the smearing is very noticeable, unless you pump brightness up a lot...Tried both the W6 and W7 and had to send them back.
I'm considering buying that same monitor, but there's a bunch of things I'm worried about. How's the glow in the corners and the stand seems rather flimsy and wobbly...is that the case?
This. So much this.
And if you want to get an even bigger screen, just look for a TV...Latest Sony's are excellent for playing thanks to their very low input lag.
As I've stated before, I currently do not have this monitor anymore. I'm still on the market for a new screen (I've been for almost two years...) and I'm considering getting a big TV with low input lag and be done with it.
Because I needed to use it with both my PC and console...I would've had to change a bunch of settings every time I wanted to switch from one source to the other. Yeah...no.
Black crush, especially in the centre of the screen, which is slightly darker and thus you lose little details there (move your head a little and you can see them again). It's peculiar to every VA panel...it's just the way the technology is. But it's something people tend to exaggerate on, so...
1. The black crush is there, as with every single VA panel on the market, but the situation is definitely getting better, especially on those new AMVA+ panels we've got recently (S27C750P, GW2760HS...). People who bash on it too much are just IPS or 120/144hz fanboys, so don't let that take you...
You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Yes, the screen is slighty reflective when it's off, but it will look just like "your" precious matte coated screen when it's on. Actually, it'll look sharper without the horrible crystalline effect and colors more vibrant and accurate.
I...
teh_chem is right, although things are (slowly) improving in the TV market. I've heard great things about the Seiki, but I have not tried it myself, because it's not available in EU.
Right now, the best LED TVs for gaming are the Sony W8 and W6 (42"), the Samsung F5000 and 6400 and people swear...
The EW would be the dream 27' 1080p VA monitor if it weren't for the very noticeable "red smearing" and overshoot issues as reported by pcmonitors. And honestly, Benq really need to get their shit together when it comes to those AMA settings. They're just horrible in EVERY single monitor they...
Bought the similar 32F5000 back on friday for €270 and it's very, very good. Panel quality seems to be better than the more expensive Sony W653 (€500). No dead pixels, colors are even all over the screen, minimal to non-existent DSE, banding and backlighting.
Is it perfect? No...
Above user is right. If people were more informed or actually gave a shit to what they buy, then the industry would be more wary.
Just the other day I've returned a TV which clearly had very bad uniformity, banding, DSE, and a dead pixel on top of it all. The clerk working there looked at me...
I've played a bit on both and couldn't notice any real difference. I mean, they both mount the same panel and the input lag is similar and so is the response time. Maybe the Samsung on the "fastest" setting does streak a lil' more than the Benq on "high", but it's almost impossible to notice in...
@Dawid There's not much difference between the Benq and Samsung. You can't go wrong with either one, although the Samsung is unjustifiably more expensive than the Benq. I have owned both and I can assure you that the picture quality is exactly the same on both monitors.
@Outbreaker It's the "W6...
@Michaelius Thanks for your suggestion on the W6 from Sony. I actually went to check both the Sammy and the Sony totally stole the attention. I've read the whole thread on a fairly known forum (no idea if I can mention the name, lol) and I'm definitely going to buy it later this week.
@Lebowski...
Not too mention that Sony is rather expensive...
I don't really care about lightboost or an higher refresh rate, because I mostly game on consoles and occasionally on my PC.
Gonna give another look at the Samsung tv later today and we'll see...
I have no idea if it uses PWM and I'm pretty sure that it's just an edge led...Should be 8 bit though. Also, input lag is 28ms and supports full 4:4:4 reproduction for PC use. It is quite tempting at that price...
I long returned it and got a refund too. I did use the Standard preset with custom colors, but I can't rember the settings. To my eyes, it looked amazing, maybe a bit too blackish.
I've got my third Benq today and I'm in love again! Unfortunately it has one stuck red pixel and a defective one...
I agree with Lebowsky. Also, no one seems to be testing this with a DP cable, which is where I got most problems. And by reading reviews on amazon, I've seen few people lamenting the same problem with the power adapter that I've experienced with this monitor (buzzing when...
Nope. It does an excellent job at keeping reflections at bay while still maintaining great clarity.
When the monitor is off you can see some faint reflections.
I had to return mine for a refund in the end. I couldn't solve that problem with the DP connection and that other issue with the power outlet got even worse. After hearing the buzzing, the monitor would power off and on by itself. A real shame...
I might give the Benq GW2760HS another try.
