Got the itch all of a sudden... which ~41-45" 4k screen for work + some gaming?

OT. Couldn't find my Kings Quest 1 Disk (maybe further down - found some spiders, though) I still have the original IBM PC 1 from 1983 (upgraded to 512KB RAM - dual floppy, CGA monitor & CGA Card, IBM matrix printer etc.).

Got the itch all of a sudden... which ~41-45" 4k screen for work + some gaming?

I started my computer career in 1983 with 13" IBM colour monitor with max. 640x200 resolution (with 2 simultaneous colours), so I really don't regard any modern monitor as low-PPI one... I simply like to keep several windows with adequate size open, and turn my head little when setting sight to...

Got the itch all of a sudden... which ~41-45" 4k screen for work + some gaming?

I have used LG 48 CX over two and a half years (both personal and telecommuting office work) for about 16 hours/day, and yet have found no problems with subpixel layout. And have no burning problem (which had some issues with older (pre-2019) LG OLED panels and some new Samsung QD-OLED panels).

Some LD OLED's (ZX series) do support real 8K resolution. But you need big money to buy them. There are no CX/C1/C2 models with 8K resolution. https://geizhals.eu/?cat=tvlcd&xf=34_7680x4320%7E3952_OLED

Thoughts on if OLED will trickle down

I agree that integer scaling looks horrible. IMO the non-integer scaled 1080p picture on my 48CX looks buch better. But a non-scaled 1080p image on 48-inch 4K OLED produces an 24 inch picture, which is the most commonly used screen size/resolution combination in use. We are just spoiled with...

Wow! Did you know, that all current OLED's can do 2000Hz (pixel response time under 0.5ms)? However, there is signalling interface that do support data bandwidth required to deliver that kind of image update speeds @2160p or even 1080p (not even DP2.1). And there are currently no TCONs / display...

    OLED Eye Fatigue

Which one did? The oldest LG OLED television test from Rtings (september 10 2015) shows no PWM modulation. https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/ec9300-oled In fact, as there is no backlight in any OLED display, there is no way or need to use PW modulated backlight.

Is HDMI 2.1 a hardware update or software update?

In the graphics card side: I quess there may be a tiny possibility that the current hardware might support HDMI 2.1 (full banddwidth).
