not down, but has been a little odd the last couple of days.
When I log in, the screen goes white for a good 10 seconds before I get the desktop. I've got about 6 computers in different locations, and they all do it.
I was having trouble a few days ago after having installed the adaware antivirus free trial while doing some other installs with ninite.
I didn't realize I'd selected that, and I installed AVG at the same time. I removed the adaware one and it's been fine since then.
you may want to check out freemake's stuff http://www.freemake.com/free_video_converter/
it's been pretty decent for me converting files. I haven't messed around with any other parts of it though
Something like Freemake http://www.freemake.com/downloads/
will do the trick for you. copying video files onto a DVD isn't sufficient. You need to convert it to the DVD format.
Freemake will do that easily enough, and can handle just about any kind of video
another option we haven't figured in, which may fit the OP's criteria of doubling capacity...
Just add a second 120 as a secondary drive.
No more discussions of Raid difficulties.
No worrying about 'what if a drive dies'
Cost is less
As there are potential issues with drives, having a...

To me, the new UI is really Gadgets 3.0
It is an evolution of the gadgets introduced with Vista.
Maybe, had they released the...
Here's my plan:
I know html and can fiddle with css enough. I'm doing sites with wordpress, so I need to know php mysql and maybe some javascript for a few things. For that, I picked up a book by O'REILLY called Learning PHP, MySQL and JavaScript by Robin Nixon
While I am doing this, I'll...
openoffice has an extension that'll let you modify pdfs with different levels of success.
I've used it to add my info to rebate forms and things like that. It looks a lot nicer than my handwriting.
Netflix streams a ton of that stuff.
we have a Wii, and my 3 1/2 yr old daughter knows how to turn the tv on, and get to the shows.
most of those shows are also on pbskids.org, so if the kids haven't started learning the basics of computer usage, this might be a good way to start. I set up...
well, that all depends. I've got the netbook now and it does a lot of great stuff. I think eventually I'll want another one, and perhaps this tablet would fit the bill. certainly it's got a bit more power to it.
That's funny, I just ordered one on newegg about 2 hrs. ago. I'll be using it with the hardware in my sig now. This is part one of a gradual upgrade and eventually, I'll have newer stuff paired with it.
heaven~lord, what pc are you running this on? I think we all presume you're running this on a newer pc, but I am curious. runs great on my PC, and even my netbook, so I vote yes.
The only issues I've come across are with a Lexmark printer and a Microsoft wireless adapter. so, I guess, check...
I know that I had to drop my overclock a little bit after I first installed 7 x64. It locked up 3 times in the first 2 hrs. I pulled things back a little bit and haven't seen an issue since.
I'd have to think that any gains you'd see in overall performance would be pretty minimal. What's the drive going to be used for? I'd think that in almost all cases, the extra space would be more valuable than a tiny bit of extra performance.
For a while, I cut my 74 gig raptor down to about 45-...
