Kyle, if you ever get the chance, try Adrift, I think it's playable on the Vive again. I'm still using a DK2, so NVRFHE is a no go, however even the crap resolution and SDE of the DK2 doesn't take away from a good VR experience - even bad ones can still have wow!! moments. It's winter here in...
..thnx for this, easy to understand, thankfully we don't get to hear that fan @100%! Seems an awful lot of zigzagging in those graphs - is this the norm for most video cards or..?
Very unique situation - self-confessed a-hole, likeable regardless for being pretty honest, also an unabashed hardware fan, has site known for realistic reviewing, respected by many and quoted by many. AMD, now known for employing a-holes, not so likeable, needs good press but allows court...
I also picked up on a certain tone through the article, however it fealt more like disappointment/despair at AMD again hyping a product beyond its capabilities. The guys at PcPer are themselves being accused of the same bias you and others feel [H] have shown - bias of a bias? Although I do not...
Kudos to AMD for bringing Fury X to market and taking the risk of gen 1 HBM...however, despite the lead-up promo push..it still looks/feels like a rushed product. Unfortunately all the 'little' things that could be ignored if performance was stellar(I was one of those fooled into believing >10%...
Had this since it came out, paired with a 4790k..4.8 preset works fine!! Article is correct, this board just works, as advertised. H100 fits easy, plenty of room for bigger air coolers too. A joy of a board- just ignore the 'Gamish' name..
If you are seriously asking and not looking for an argument, keep enjoying your 970, you won't have issues if you're not silly about settings and/or similarly, don't buy a 38x21 monitor(almost 4K, also known as UHD). Many don't even know what a ROP is or where the raster part of the pipeline...
Win 10 & DX12 card? Will be interesting to see what happens, a more 'efficient' API would be a boon for owners of this card, even with 'only' 2GB fwamebuffa..
Interesting article, more interesting discussion. Having to choose my words carefully here...has anyone done a proper clock for clock comparison with say a 780ti and a 980? You may find the results very interesting.
I will also agree, Kyle Bennett doesn't do damage control, he's totally WYSIWYG...
Been playing it on a DK2, apart from the lack of a jump function in the game, which really makes it feel old, it's not too bad. Does look a bit flyscreenie too😢😢..
Thanks for your review Kyle, though I disagree that this is an 'upgrade' chip, or worthy of any awards. However, if I was looking to build a new, will last me a few years system, this would be a contender.
Bf4 pre-order was a joke - digital deluxe not being Premium? Then spend another chunk of change for that...and it's now a COD clone...goodbuy Sidney Shore...
..Thnx for the review Kyle&Dan - these motherboards have come a long way, though all using the same hub, Z97 in this case, allows for a lot of refinement - plus it's pretty easy to find the right s/ware as you showed. Yes, the codec is crappy but good discreet sound cards still sound better and...
Kyle, Dan, thnx for the review - I have the Hero VII board and a 4790K, similar UEFI bios. Did you guys try the full initialisation setting to get the USB stick recognised? I had to do this to upgrade the bios to 1002, as the(very old .5 GB music player)USB stick was invisible when setting was...
Yep - there are 4690Ks available here in Aussieland, on the shelves, awaiting buyers..

The Hero II(..err, that name..) mobo is due either today or in the morning, so I will be good to go, gonna use...
Is the currently available 4790 the reject, for want of a better term, parts that didn't make the Devil branded bins? Curious if 4790's have the improved NGPTIM setup..???
Even stock, the DCs will be around 10% faster, seemingly better thermals(less volts?)...and the Z97 boards, from your own...
750 ti = 'new' Maxwell card, very efficient - 640 cores, 128bit memory bus,
770 = 680 with minor refinement - 1536 cores, 256bit memory bus,
Waiting... and waiting can be detrimental to your gamer well-being. If ARMA 3 is anything like ARMA(1st), you will need a 770 for playability...plus the...
...in Australia it's US$80.00 - minus .05 cents...
On a side note - should be able to play this on my new GF4!! Might even try it on my SLI voodoo 2s...no, what? It's x64? No win 95 or XP64?
Or...ponzicoin? Amazing BCers say 'this is the future of money!!'...whilst gloating about the worth of their stash in $US..? Pretending BC were not a train-wreck, how do you 'spend' such a volatile currency? I honestly hope all you honest miners recoup your investments..The guys holding all...
TBH, you need 3GB of vidram for eyecandi heaven in bf4...however, for good/competitive MP, you turn off motion blurr, AA and a few other PP type things, so 2GB(770) should be fine..don't know about the other games but u should be ok...
+1 - VRAM buffer is a VRAM buffer, any 'new' information sent is limited by PCI-e bus speeds, which although impressive sounding, pale when compared to local bus speeds on a vidcard...the perfect system(PC), where everything - processor/s, system buses, ram, interconnects and storage, 'shared'...
omg, you can buy 2 290s for that...oops, sorry, was practicing being a fanboi - Is the PSU you're gonna use really 450W? I ask because on the 780 ti SC ACX box, which i just happen to have here (and what a shit-hot card it is), it asks for a 600W PSU, 42amps on the 12v - don't shoot the...
nice ASIC score - where I live, anything over 70 is unusual, though I do have an ~87% ASUS 680, seems they send all their shit silicon here...Anyway, am surprised and curious as to the reason you didn't get the 'cheaper' 290X or even 'cheaper' 290, since they are, ahem, so fast and...fast...
...Have been lucky enough to score the use of an EVGA 780 Ti SC with ACX coola - price aside, these cards really put in when it comes to boost clocks, this particular one, (ASIC quality 75.5%), boosts to 1150 consistently, stock volts of 1.187. I have seen this exact boost clock reported on...
..and, OI, YOU @ [H] there, methinks you have THE BEST JOB IN THE WORLD !!!! Even with your time constraints, you still have the best job around - promoting fun, no disrespect meant, I know how hard 'PCing' can get when you have deadlines...YOU STILL HAVE THE BEST JOB AROUND!!!!(apart from mine...
It's too late to buy a Titan - that was 6-8 months ago, a bit of gouging but no real early adopters fee. Now, if you can wait, maybe 2 custom cooled 290x for those 1440P monitors. IMHO these cards are for open 'test' setups, so regardless of how the custom coolers work, plenty of air - many...
