Now that these panels are being made any chance we get the "b stock" korean versions of them? I know some of them can do 120hz already if you overclock.. but what about non OC
Says some games are starting to take advantage of higher frequency RAM and can notice FPS increase.
I can't find much on google about this. Anyone know what he's talking about or got any examples?
Currently sitting at 8gb/1600mhz, fairly old RAM. Been considering upgrading it.
lol this thread seems like an entire troll thread.
You want a 30 inch 4k 120hz refresh rate monitor? lol.
We are just NOW getting a mainstream 120hz 1440p 27" monitor (yes i know it could be done before with overclocking and custom panels but that's not mainstream).
4k + 120hz is...
Outside of people working with photos and what not, how about on just a day to day use. Do you guys think it's even viable? I say this because I had the Dell 4k monitor for about a week before returning it and apart from the horrible 30hz, I thought the massive resolution actually hindered a...
Do they pay the shipping when you return it? I'm going to call tomorrow and have it sent back.
Not a fan of the monitor, so many annoying issues. I would rather user my old monitor while waiting for my U3014 than this one lol. don't even have it plugged in atm.
Nah it's all good, thanks for the help. I don't think there's any way around it. I'm enjoying the 4k resolution even at 30hz but with all these other nagging issues I think I'm going to be returning it as well. I'm not really sure if all the technology has aligned yet to make 4k viable on day...
It's not even an option to change it to 60hz when GPU scaling is enabled. Just 30hz, and the "hide unsupported refresh rate" box is greyed out. If you create a custom resolution in nvidia it just disappears. I think it's locked to 30 with GPU scaling enabled.
I think GPU scaling scales to the native refresh rate of the monitor, and since this is a 30hz monitor it makes sense it's capped at 30hz. Quite a shame. So either 1080p @ 30hz with correct colors or 1080p @ 60hz with washed out colors.. unless there's a way to force GPU scaling @ 60hz.
Thanks for the tip, GPU scaling solved that issue. Does the UP2414Q feel laggy when running it at 1080p? The mouse seems less fluid than 30hz @ 4k
Except when I turn on GPU scaling I'm limited to 30hz at 1080p, lol.
I'm using 2 680's in SLI
So it's definitely frame skipping @ 1080p 120hz. I tried playing some games and there was tearing everywhere. No tearing at 60hz.
The mouse feels a bit laggy, yea. If you set your monitor to 30hz you'll see what it's like. There's no input lag though. I get...
So I got the monitor today. it's of course locked at 30hz from what I can tell.
1080p goes up to 120hz but even at 60 or 120 it looks really bad.. the mouse is all laggy almost feels like it's frame skipping. Is this a side effect of running a monitor not at its native reso or what?
Mine should be here tomorrow or tuesday. I saw that 60hz thing too, my guess is it's just a copy/paste glitch from their other 60hz 4k monitors.. but either way i'll call and bitch and say it mentioned 60hz via DP maybe get some more money off it :D
I think we all realize that but the fact that it has MST capabilities built inside the monitor already still makes me wonder if it's truly capped at 30hz.
Also I'm more interested in trying to get 120hz @ 1080p anyways.
I'll let you guys know whats up when I get it. It shipped tonight!
I ended up getting it for $600 + the dell gift card thing. It's not floating around for cheaper than that right?
http://slickdeals.net/f/6648628-dell-28-4k-ultra-hd-monitor-p2815q-30-gift-card-for-599-tax
looks like i'll have to re-order since u can already get it for $100 cheaper.
The seiki ones are just too big though, 50" monitor is ridiculous. 39 is too big for me as well.
I've seen those in person and they look more like TV's to me rather than a monitor but idk. And the color accuracy was pretty much garbage. Either way I figured there's basically 0 risk here...
Everytime I order from Dell they always piss me off. Did same thing with my PS4.
"in stock ships in 1 business day"
order product..
"estimated ship is 3 weeks from now"
lol?
Are there any coupons to take advantage of to bring the price down? And you can return it in 30 days for free right? I still think I'm going to order it.. and if the 30hz is that bad just return it.
Even after the 30hz news?
I'm still considering it. Anyone think it might do 120hz @ 1080p like the Seiki monitors? And is there any possibility they implement MST in the future since it already has a DP1.2 or will that never happen?
For those of you who are demanding HDMI 2.0, explain to me what the hell HDMI 2.0 is going to do for you?
Okay you just bought a new awesome HDMI 2.0 TV.
Okay? Now what. Now plug it in to your HDMI 1.4 graphics card and get 30hz?
Okay now plug it in to your home theater receiver HDMI...
Having 4k support is irrelevant if I can't use a HDMI 2.0 port to plug it in to my HDMI 2.0 TV to get 4k content at 60hz. 30hz 4k content is worthless for gaming.
Preferably I'd just pick up another 680 and put on another hydro copper waterblock but those don't seem to exist any more.
This is my first time i ever built a custom WC solution and tbh I'm not sure what to do. What I'm afraid of is buying another waterblock and the tubing locations are...
I want to SLI a 2gb 680 wtih a 4gb 680 EVGA classified card.
Will I have any issues doing this? I know the 4gb card will only use 2gb of vram and I'm okay with that, I just want to know if everything else will go smoothly
thx
