I don't see too many ITX boards. dvsman how do you like the gigabyte ITX board? the only other one I'm seeing is an ASUS ITX board and an ASrock? Correct me if I'm wrong, more selection is better!
someone somewhere else told me that my USB enclosure board was not capable of handling 4K drives and was still using 512 byte sectors. when I fixed my motherboard all of my drives showed up again, working.

Last night there was a power outage, the computer was off, plugged into a tripplite surge protector which by the way still works and the fuse is not blown
it booted to the boot screen and showed all my drives but the POST LED...
i had a power outage and my SSDs were not working. (nor is my motherboard but that's a different story)
They were detectable on the BIOS but would not boot. I plugged them into an external USB to another computer and they would show correctly on CrystalDiskInfo but on Disk Management in Win 10...
i've also been resisting any upgrades until 10 nm, and I'm stuck on a 4670k. i sincerely hope now that intel's implementation of efficiency and performance cores turns out good
