Good 'ol ps2. I still believe the ps2 ball mice were superior to optical/laser mice for fps gaming. Not sarcastic at all - when you pick up an optical mouse to move, the pointer moves ever so slightly when it is actually in the air. That didn't happen with ball mice. I actually bought a 5...
Damn, $50 bucks, that's like 4 trips to taco bell hahaha, sigh *cries*. But honestly pretty crazy, I paid 75 little while back, don't have anything to compare to but I really like them.
I have an Acer XV273k monitor with HDR-400. Do I need to set "Use HDR" in Windows display settings as well as turning on HDR on my monitor settings to make everything work the way it should? Or is it enough to simply turn it on in the monitor? If I only set it in Windows, everything is...
They all came in the original AMD packaging and the second one was the only one with major visible damage with the sticker seal broken. I just returned the first. The one with bent pins had a small dent in the corner of the AMD packaging, sticker seal intact. When I opened it up, the plastic...
I was surprised that Best Buy was selling AMD 3950x CPU's, they had a good deal with Borderlands 3 and The Outerworlds keys bundled. I'd rather give a brick and mortar the business than Amazon so I bit. The first package looked like it was kicked down a few flights of stairs - see pic. I...
Ok, so I followed your settings and am able to boot @ 3600 RAM and ran P95 for 30 minutes no errors!!! I have a few differences from my DRAM calc results than what you posted, the big one was cLDO VDDG you show .900 and my DRAM calc shows .950. If I switch back to VDDG of .950 I can't boot...
I tried FCLK at 1800 and 3333MHz RAM, booted just fine and ran a quick 10 mins of P95 no errors. Does that pretty much rule out the CPU? Here I was thinking I was going to have an excuse to return it and go with a 3950x instead ;)
I have the exact same kit as you, F4-3600C16-16GVKC. So D-Die but I used the Hynix C die setting in DRAM Calc as there is no D-Die setting. I think I'm just going to RMA the RAM, fingers crossed that's all. I'm not sure which .900v settings you're speaking of but I've tried just about everything.
Well, at 3400 safe settings I can POST but get blue screens before booting to Windows. I've tried upping voltages, DRAM, VDDP, VDDG, SOC and nothing helps. I'm going to let p95 run overnight at 3333, but just seems strange that I'd be stable there and can't even boot to Windows at 3400.
I haven't tried reflashing bios but I did flash to latest before anything.
I am doing the full report from Taiphoon as you posted, and I do see the same timings as you so that's good.
I'm working my way up from 3200 on fast settings from DRAM calc - no errors prime 95 memory stress 1.5 hours...
Great tip, here I was thinking I needed to set the jumper, never knew you could just short the two. Saved a lot of time!
I am not able to boot at 3600 yet. I used Taiphoon to get all XMP values into DRAM Calc. In DRAM I used system profile V1 and Safe calculations, Hynix c, Ryzen +, x570.
In...
Thank you for this!!! I just put two of those sticks into an Gigabyte x570 pro wifi, 3900x and was unable to boot with XMP set. Very frustrating as the BIOS wouldn't reliably reset after failed boots, and no way I'm taking out cards to reset the bios manually each time.
Ill follow your lead...
My motherboard, Gigabit x570 Aorus Pro Wifi, has the following 12v ports:
My PSU, Seasonic PRIME Ultra 850W 80+ Titanium, has two of these 4x4 12v connectors. The questionable part is that on one of the four, has all rounded pins (see my mspaint skills, the red pins are rounded).
Now...

Don't get me wrong, I'll be overclocking, just nothing crazy ;)
My PSU is about two years old, so I think that will be OK.

I decided on the fractal meshify s2. I wanted to be on the safe side with a little more room. The phanteks enthoo pro m was my...
Happy new year! I'm starting the year off right, building my first rig since my Intel 2700k I've been banging on for a while now.
I'm building an AMD 3900x, Gigabyte x570 Aorus pro wifi, Gigabyte Aorus NVMe Gen4 1TB, 2x16GB RAM, reusing PSU and GTX 1080 TI GPU. I have plenty of case fans of...
Is there any way to disable hyperthreading in windows 10 outside of the BIOS? I have this HP laptop that I spent a good chunk of change on and the BIOS doesn't let you configure a damn thing. HP hasn't provided any BIOS updates regarding the numerous sidechannel attacks.
I don't see how it is a hoax when I saw it with my own two eyes.
Quote from Youtube is a bold face lie: “We’ve seen no recent evidence of videos promoting the Momo Challenge on YouTube. Videos encouraging harmful and dangerous challenges are against our policies,” a company spokesperson wrote...
Youtube has more problems: https://abcnews.go.com/US/youtube-kids-video-featuring-suicide-instructions-removed-reports/story?id=61326717
Multiple videos on Youtube Kids app surfaced showing regular kids videos and in the middle of it cut to a character telling the kids to slit their wrists and...
Assuming that is true which I'll take your word for, then that is a separate problem with the browser. One that I'd say is a bigger issue than the password managers as you keep your browser open at length and visit other sites.
But then again, really doesn't matter when these apps scrub...
Did you even watch the guy's video? It literally shows all of the comments by these scumbags, linking to timestamps in videos, linking to other videos, disgusting comments.
So, it doesn't matter that you don't think it is happening, it is. Not everything is a conspiracy.
The problem I...
It's an easy way for weak politicians to make themselves look good. Look at all the jobs they created! Forget about the cost to the taxpayers, that is easily buried in the news.
I appreciate the replies! I bought the old man a lap desk and he wanted his same $350 Acer - literally can't win talking him into something different/nicer. Do you think there is any risk in using the 4GB stick from the dead laptop as long as it is the same make model?
Talking to him more, he...
Heat would make a lot of sense with how he is using it, didn't think of that. Also, when he's not using it he sets it flat on the carpet, although I would think it's in sleep mode at that point.
My Dad has managed to kill 4 laptops, 3 cheapo's that he purchased and one of my old stalwart Dell laptop that I gave him. They all had similar symptoms - failing to power on, blinking keyboard, nothing on the screen, beeps when trying to boot. Two of which he sent back under warranty and from...
I don't know about mobile as I've never owned an iphone, but the OS updates and innovation are lacking. I don't understand how a company with that much money can shit the bed with software for years, riding on the coattails of a more developer friendly BSD environment. I know people like to...
I'll check it out, I've briefly looked into similar options, thanks for the recommendation. I have plenty of hardware and an already overly complex network, best to just do the content filtering myself, at least at my kids' young age.
It's funny how that works. Having a family and kids can change that, but still if you're this guy and you've built this and it's your passion and purpose how could you stop? Agree in some ways, but don't think it is as black and white as you make it to be.
Crapple can't even police their app's advertisements. I restrict my ipad to 4+ age apps for my son, yet these apps show advertisements of shooting, killing, zombie etc games. I called a couple times to complain about it and the "managers" claim that I need to contact the app maker as they have...
I've seen people with little technical knowledge lead tech projects successfully. It happens more than you would think. And sometimes, it's better that way as long as the person up top listens and fights for what the minions are saying.
I agree on the principle, but find it hard to believe there aren't other more useless features that could be culled first. People actually used RSS, it made sense, it was simple, it worked.
But there's no ad revenue, so that's where it ended. Let's be real here.
This is all really blown out of proportion, imo. BMC has been suspect for _years_, which is why nobody worth their salt would put that on a network that can get external.
Edit - in fact, in security conscious places I've seen would not plug into a BMC port.
