Yeah, part of my hesitation on upgrading is related to wanting to keep Windows 7 as the OS for the 5950x. I've read a few guides about how to do that and it seems like it will be a bit more time-intensive than "let's try to get this done in an evening" kind of project.
Also, reading through all...
Well, I'm glad the link shows these are all sold out on the eBay posting. I was seriously considering purchasing the 6.4TB... at $230, you can't go wrong.
I still have a second 3.2TB sitting around. I was going to add it to the 3.2TB already in my system, then decided to add it to a 5950x...
Updated with pictures.
No IDE connector, 6 SATA ports (including 2 eSATA). It looks like there are some Firewire ports on the back as well.
The model of the motherboard is Intel DX58SO Extreme Series X58 and the memory model is KHX1600C9D3/4G.
Any other questions, lmk! :)
Hello,
I am going through all of my computer parts and boy have I accumulated way too much haha.
First up is a LGA1336 combo. It is an Intel Extreme motherboard (DX58SO Extreme Series X58) with Intel Xeon L5630 (with CPU cooler) and 16GB of DDR3 memory (4x 4GB). I don't know the history of...
I used to have one (dual fan), but will have to track it down. If you haven't found one by the time I figure out what happened to mine, I'll post another reply here!
I have a 480mm radiator, but I'm not sure if it's 30mm.
I'm out of town for business, but if you are still looking for the radiator in a week, PM and I'll measure the radiator I have.
Thanks for the heads-up on this, bought one of the last two remaining as a back-up to my primary 3.2TB ioScale SSD. I'll report health and drive stats once I receive it in the mail. FWIW, the seller accepted my $175 offer, so thanks man114 for the heads-up on that idea! :)
I would try your idea of reseating the card as well. Also, you could roll back the last Windows update (do a shadow copy restore) and see if the behavior changes.
I've never seen mine above 65C, though I don't check it frequently.
On the back of your PCIe card, which color of LED (if any) is currently illuminated?
Fair point, though based on your use case, the extra endurance of MLC (the NAND type of this drive) vs TLC would be worth spending more for (e.g. $300 at the link provided by ozo173) the drive than a $200 TLC drive with less space. Probably not worth it at $550+ unless you have money to burn. :)
Okay, the reason I am asking this question is that you will need the drive initialized as a GPT partition in order to use more than 2TB of the drive.
Just to ensure I understand the situation, all of the normal functionality for the drive is present in Windows? E.g. you can read, write, etc. to...
No need to fix the power limit, as there were a few screenshots in this thread showing limited speed/performance differences. Up to you though.
If you search through this thread, you should be able to find common commands to run in order to verify drivers are installed correctly and the drive...
