EQ has so many memories and nostalgia. Norrath is literally where I grew up (yeah, I might be a massive dork). I refuse to go back though, as I know the game couldn't have aged that well compared to modern MMOs and I don't want to ruin my perception of the game from 2004.
Also, another big issue with newer FF games is the voice-overs. It's so awkwardly delayed, I'm not sure if that's how it was designed or if its because of English translation, but it feels so damn unnatural, and definitely breaks my immersion. At least with the old school ones you read it all...
PSO! God, this was this game converted me from a kid who plays games to a gamer. In fact, it converted my mother & my sister as well. My addiction eventually converted to EQ, which is where I became a no-lifer, hopelessly addicted to MMOs for life.
I have not played it since PSO BB release...
Thanks for the review Steve. Have you done one of these reviews that include a recent version the 212 Cooler Master? It'd be a nice baseline to compare against to see how valuable the upgrade is in comparison to a 30$ cooler :)
I searched around but couldn't find one.
My girlfriend used her free 90. It seems like this is their system since WoD launched, to artificially limit the abilities you get if you use the boost. It's a pretty clever system, otherwise players who boosted a class they're unfamiliar with would be overwhelmed. I know I was, as I just got...
I'm clearly aware that I can block users. The problem is, this kind of talk is toxic. It leads to everyone talking like this, and eventually the entire chat is dominated by people spewing out the equivalent of youtube comments. At that point, only the circle-jerking teen-like people are left in...
My biggest complaint with anonymity is not the ultra rare threats of violence in real life (as most of us will never have to deal with this), but simply the fact that trolls in general/global/public chats can say the most offensive vile things and get away with it.
I'd honestly drop 30-40$/mo...
Damn you guys for bringing up DC, so much nostalgia on that platform for me.
To some degree the VMU was ahead of its time, and I think it shows because they did not design it in a way that was entirely practical IMO. The device wasn't useful while playing the game, only a cute distraction...
3 case fans, 1 cpu fan on mobo.
2 additional case fans headers built-in to the case.
Hmm, actually hadn't thought about that before. For push/pull configuration, should I have a splitter from my CPU fan connection onto both CPU fans?
Araxie, unfortunately I DO have a referenced GTX 670, as I bought it before I knew the difference between referenced vs non-referenced GPUs. I know this will increase the temps in my case, but I'm not really interested in spending the $$$ to upgrade just yet.
Thanks for the information about...
Thanks Teeny for the input. After looking into it more, you're right the F's are for radiator/cpu cooling, and i will take your advice and use them for the push/pull on the H60.
I have a couple followup question though:
Do you know the difference between the NF-F12's and NF-P12s? Both...
To some degree, I know it will. I have some pretty piss poor fans installed at the moment and can barely feel the air flow on the exhaust.
If you have any tips besides using a different thermal paste or a different CPU cooler, I'd be all ears :)
EQNext has a lot of potential in my opinion. I've tinkered around a bit on landmark, and it's insane what people can create and how great it looks. If their voxel system is up to par with what they've described and shown in demo videos, it could lead to a great sandbox game!
With that said...
Hi all,
My case has been running very hot. I have a few solutions I'm working toward, including ordering new fans with a bit more CFM for intake/exhaust. But I'm still a bit confused about radiator cooling.
My plan is to mount the radiator in a push/pull configuration in the back of the PC...
I wish I could recommend something. Unfortunately, the comradery of the old EQ days are long gone in the US. Game developers don't seem to focus on PvE as much as they used to, they usually strike for a balance of PvE/PvP or focus more on PvP (like Archeage). Even if game devs focused on PvE...
Oh, good catch Danny - would have been embarassing buying the wrong type.
I think I will do two sticks of that RAM, as long as what bl4z3 mentioned is not an issue.
I don't mind going with liquid cooling in the future, as it seems like a fun thing to do and will not affect my immediate budget.
And actually, if I go with your suggest Asus mobo, it comes with a single stick of 8GB Corsair Ram
So I might as well just buy 1 more stick of it and go with that. If its a compatible/good type of Ram to buy.
Would this be recommended?
I was planning on this case: Corsair Special Edition White Graphite Series 600T Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case.
As it has a nice rebate and promo code.
I'm the OPs friend. Thanks for this detailed response Danny and everyone else for their input.
I am about to pull the trigger after making some changes.I had a couple follow up questions if anyone could answer.
First, the changes I made from the recommended spec:
1) Going to grab 2 sticks...
